Giving the breakdown of what sequences worked and didn’t work make these videos great. And “we made 15 stands with no coyotes,” makes it real. Great video guys.
So I'm a Colorado native, 53 years. Grew up coyote hunting as well as all big game species. You actually had a VERY good couple of days hunting coyotes by colorado standards! Sad to say, our coyote population is VERY small compared to kansas, nebraska, wyoming, and The Dakotas. A very popular and famous coyote Hunter from the 70s and '80s became friends with my father as we belong to the now defunct Colorado Varmint Hunters Association. He had won many contests and happened to be a wildlife biologist as well. He did some in-depth studies in Colorado which was to all of us hunters great benefit. When it comes down to, is the lack of water in eastern colorado. This is why we have no appreciable number of ground squirrels, prairie dogs, or rabbits in eastern Colorado anymore. These of course are the staple food for the coyote, and thus the low numbers. You two actually saw more coyotes than most Hunters do.
In oregon, our coyote population tends to follow the rabbit population. Apparently the rabbits have a seven year cycle here, so every seven years there a die off and consequently the coyotes trend to follow.
Hi Geoff and Rick, I like the fact that you will talk about making 15 stands without not seeing a thing when most other predator hunting shows never mention it. They would have you believe that every coyote hunt is a field day. Thank you for putting together this wonderful show!-Paul
I grew up in the desert of wyoming. Also known as Jeffrey City. I grew up calling in coyotes for fun just to watch them. You guys should hear my call I do with my mouth. It gets them every time.
That encouraging because me and my son jus now got into hunting coyotes... and we made stands lift and right but no dice... gna get back out there and grind hard now... thank you
Thanks for the positive advice. Being new to coyote hunting and in late season I am frustrated seeing nothing. Might have to make a trip back home to hunt some farm country, 15 mins away from Geoff.
As always gentlemen, another awesome informative video with plenty of knowledge that you guys share with all the viewers, not to mention the excitement of each stand! When not working or out in the field trying to replicate these great outings, sitting watching it here. Would love to speak to you guys in regards to the sounds library and our revolt that has been great for us! Thanks guys!
This really is the best coyote hunting channel Ive come across. I currently use a foxpro. Overall i hear pretty good things about LD calls. Ive been seriously considering gettin a roughneck.
@@gordontomaszewski1420 Honestly, thats my only hang up. I really hate that its made in china. Everytime I think about buying one I talk myself out of pulling the trigger, for that reason alone. Really sucks because I wanna try one bad! But I also wanna try a new x2s or an x24 so i may end up goin that route. I still think this show is the best when it comes to coyote huntin though.
Lucky Duck is an American company that provides jobs for Americans, believe it or not!! Buying 100% Made in the USA products would be awesome but unfortunately it's not a reality for 99.9% of Americans...especially if you like commenting on these videos from your phone!! Thanks for watching!
@@GeoffNemnich That may be true, but in this case its a tough sell for many guys when there is a really good alternative to LD thats both priced similarly and American made. You guys have your reasons for having your calls made in China. I just know there are several guys(and gals) out there that would own one if it was made here. From all Ive read and seen, that seems to be the main reason, if not the only reason, why guys shy away from LD.
I have done some coyote hunting here in Southern Colorado. Where I call you have to watch out for other predators when you call. I've called lots of cats both lion and bobcat, bears, and lots of prey birds. My friend was lucky to be wearing a stocking hat on one occasion because an owl attacked his head. The owl realized right away he wasn't an injured rabbit and let go quickly. Exciting stuff at the time.
The other day I shot and misssed a yote at 250yds, thought set was done, turned call off. Was sitting there eating a sandwich and 20 min later 2 more coyotes started creeping at bout 700 yds. Just like that first one, they paid no attention to call, was not looking, was sniffing ground but slowly working their way, turned on basically 6 different sounds. 30 min later I shot one at12 steps,! Not once did they ever start trotting or really look intrigued, but they came in
Hello from the UK 🇬🇧 👋 I love your channel and quality films. I’ve been watching for years. I rate you as highly as the Night Crew. To immerse us even more in the hunt, can I suggest that you start using scope cams? You can then split the screen to show it from the normal camera filming and what you are seeing through the scope. This would be awesome in my opinion. What do you think? Thumbs up if you agree! 👌👍
Great video and great action. I just wish there was slightly less talking. But I love the retrieval process. We used to do that to raid dens for pups. Hunting yotes is a really great time, but raising a little pup is great too. But only if you get a female before the eyes are open.
Great video on later in the season tactics. I liked his run up the hill to smoke that one. I do that all the time when they come in behind you. I just don’t know why the heck you would fish a coyote out of a hole? Anyway awesome video you guys are a great team. The A-Max bullets are deadly accurate I use them exclusively.
I use the Roughneck.....durable as heck and it sounds amazing. Only thing that I would purchase with the call is the rechargeable battery pack. Other than that it rocks. Plus Rick hooks it up on the sound library.
I don't see the pup assault sound on our call or in your library....and our remote is acting up again. Plays different sounds than the buttons we push and the "F" buttons don't work consistently...can you help us?
I hate to be "that guy" but your cameraman almost died @16:30. It's easy to forget muzzle control when you're running and gunning like that. And again @22:37.
Question?? Any knowledge on how to hunt in heavily dense tree farm? Reason is because it's my only allowed area to hunt in South Georgia. Buddy has several thousand acres of tree farm down here and the dogs will not venture out I to the open. They just hang and howl at the treeline .... Appreciate any input ... and live your channel also!! 👍
I would hunt in the woods with the coyotes. Assume it is pines. Depends on how big the trees are, but normally there are some openings. Use a shotgun and don’t be afraid to move closer to them. I hunt North Carolina.

Still the best predator hunting show on RUclips. 👍🏼
We appreciate it, Steve!
Ya better than fox pros show for sure
By far
That barb wire trick was awesome

Man I've learned a lot from you guys hunt alot of western wyoming
Good trick !I am gonna try that barb wire trick next time the go in a hole.keep up the great hunts fellas.always a good watch.
Nice 300 + yard shot on that 3rd dawg, and great running shot on that last dawg ! Great episode gentlemen :-)

Yup, it ain't always as excitin' as it looks on these videos. I've had many a disheartening day in good coyote country.
Nice one boys, well done. Graham🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍
Awesome video guys! You gotta make a video on how to shoot a running dog.
They got drone cams that will follow you around, you can get a drone operator outta sight and yet get close ups of everything.
Rick, I figured I'd see you on U Tube , you guys looking good , tell TR I said hey ! Show m the unicorn ! This is JB from Illinois

What is the best effective range for a 204 Ruger? For coyote hunting
Easy 300+ yard rifle , my co worker shot one with his and good size hole in fur. It sure dumped him though. He shot his at 120 yards approx.
@@ColoradoBigJohn thanks
What?! I’ve never seen the barb wire trick. Very interesting
What brand of rifles are you using? They seem very accurate!

We got a crap load of coyotes out here in vermont
That’s awesome I never seen anything like that and I would love to go with you sometime coyote hunting
THAT WAS WAY KEWL!
Well you got a few of them!
wow awesome fishing for coyotes
What was the decoy on the roughneck?
I’ve been wondering that for several episodes
@@jimbomartin8491 even if it doesn’t have action just something to stimulate the eyes
TR drilled a small hole in the handle of his roughneck and glued a decoy from the king critter in there.
@@GeoffNemnich right on thank you!!
How are those roughneck callers

@@ColoradoBigJohn thanks man gonna buy one here soon
Which model of Swagger bipod does Geoff use? Thanks.
I use the barb wire but I have it at the end of a steel pole with a bunch of treble hooks
Why are the coyotes attracted to the pups sounds? Thanks !

What caliber do you primarily use for coyote hunting?
We have too many here in Colorado
what rifles and rifle set-ups are you guys using?
Hi guys- what wind forecasting and reporting app do you use?
79 = The number of times Nemnich uses the word coyote/coyotes
When do you stop using coyotes vocules
What cans are yal using?

Coyote based. Sounds like distress to me
too much BS and less action
