    Where I have my vacation home in Northern Wisconsin, the bears, coyotes and wolves have decimated the deer, grouse and turkey population. All 3 of those species take fawns like crazy and coyotes and especially wolves take full grown deer. It takes the coyotes hours to kill a deer. I've listened to it at night laying in bed. It's sickening. Anyone who idolizes wolves or coyotes is not an educated conservationist.
    Way to save some wildlife... Kill a coyote!
    When it comes to wolves... Shoot, shovel, and shut up!

    • @OMGUKILLKENNY2

      +cholrus69 Mainly they are nuisance animals that can cost ranchers a lot of money. For the most part hunters just hunt them for recreation, there is a lot of them and it is open season year round. However some states do pay if you prove you killed one.

    Why do coyotes react to the call of a hunter? the call, why does it attract them?

    • @cleatussfmo7437
      @cleatussfmo7437 5 лет назад

      Because they are predators and scavengers. The call mimics the sounds of prey animals, or that of an injured coyote. When they hear the call, the instinctually think "easy meal" or "I've got to help" and they come in to investigate.

    • @dakotalongbrake6952

      Have you ever watched a coyote run a deer until it couldn't anymore and then start eating it alive? I have. Have you ever lost baby calves to coyotes? I have. Predation is cruel and hard to watch. It has a purpose, yes but when that purpose over extends it's boundaries and starts to extend where it shouldn't it's needs to be stopped. It's no different than trapping a mouse in your house.

    There is no sport in this. Anybody can scout where coyotes are at and set up a machine to draw them. This is killing for fun!

    • @cleatussfmo7437
      @cleatussfmo7437 5 лет назад

      There is far more to coyote hunting than setting up a call and pulling the trigger. The road runner cartoons dont show how cunning the coyote actually is. In order to have a successful hunt, you have to take into account MANY things. Wind, terrain, concealment, as well as many other things.
      As far as killing for sport vs fun....do you not have fun playing football? Coyote are vermin....they are a pest. They need to be culled in order for other species to thrive. It is proven that predators, left uncontrolled, will decimate the population of game animals. Hunts such as this only makes it so that deer, rabbit, squirrel, grouse, quail, and others can continue to be an option for hunters.
      If "anyone can set up a machine to draw them in," let's see the videos of you doing it. Or better yet...since this isn't hunting....let's see you call them in without the machine and have a stand anywhere near this good.

    • @kratcliffe1
      @kratcliffe1 5 лет назад

      @@cleatussfmo7437 You use all the same techniques for deer hunting. So what they are cunning. These videos prove that they are not as cunning as you say. So I guess coyotes don't have the right to live or kill to eat, right? So it is your goal to make these "varments" extinct? They are animals not rodents. I am a hunter, but this is not hunting IMO. And if people like you keep shooting them like this, then they will go extinct. Sad thing is you don't even use the meat.

      Its proven that biologically, coyote will reproduce at roughly the same rate that they die. If 5 die in a given area, the litter to follow will have 4-6 pups. The odds of coyote going exting any time in our next 3, 4, even 5 generations is about as good as the sun exploding tomorrow.
      Yes, you use the same techniques when hunting deer, but coyote and deer are far different. The make up of their sensory systems is completely different. They see differently and at different distances. Their sense of smell is greatly different. Their hearing....everything is different. The call only acts as a way of overcoming the coyotes shy instinct. If they catch wind of you, they are gone. If they see you, they are gone. If they hear you...they are gone. Deer l, on the other hand, will see you and smell you and still walk 10 yards from you.
      Allowing coyote populations to thrive in to high of a number brings forth disease in the population and greatly reduces the numbers of other animals in the area. Coyote kill everything from mice to deer and cattle, and not always as a food source.

      @@kratcliffe1 it literally takes a kill off of about 70% of a coyote population to really damage it in an area. Planes and natural disease are about the only things that can accomplish that. Calling coyotes is a means to slow the growth of coyote populations. I have lived on a ranch my whole life. We have lost calves to coyotes. I have watched a pack of coyotes take turns running a deer until it couldn't run any more and then take it down and start eating it alive before it was dead. Predation is a cruel thing to see. Do they have a right to live? Yes. Just like a calf or a fawn or a pheasant does. Coyote populations will get out of hand if not managed some and then disease will put it back in check. That's a slow horrible death. As far as using them goes, we skin everyone we shoot. The hides get used for clothes, blankets, coats and many other things. No we don't eat them but they don't get left to waste.

      I would have to disagree with you James. With equipment evolving so is the number of hunters out in the field, we are running into new hunters all the time, it's way harder to call in a coyote now days even compared to 5 years ago. Also you can have all the equipment in the world, but if you dont know what your doing, your not going to be successful.
