      Unicorn Queen thanks! lol I like the challenge of a tidy backside. But most of the time, you don’t have to worry about it much because nobody sees it. So long as you love it, you’re doing it right. 💙

    I previously just glued the fabric to the frame but then I realized if my gift receivers wanted to display it any other way they wouldn't be able to get it out! This worked much better and was fast & easy. Thanks!

    Thank you for this video! I have at least one project I need to quick fix since I know how to do this right now, and yet another finished one I know how to finish off properly now! (yes I commented on the sticky board video too. I'm good at the cross stitch part, but for some reason the finishing part scares me lol) Glad I found this channel!

      I hear ya! You don’t want to ruin all that hard work with a bad frame job. I have a bajillion unframed finishes!! But it’s because I really enjoy the stitching best. 😉 Glad to be of help! Let me know if there’s anything else you’re struggling with.

    It does work, but I couldn't get mine to lay flat on the back. Sooo when I try to hang it on a wall it sticks out from the wall. My embroidery was even on a less stiff fabric than what is used on the video. Going to have to do use another method.

    Do I keep the frame on the one to hold the fabric

  • @cyanideenid

    What do you do if the fabric keeps slipping in the hoop? My bamboo hoop doesn't seem to be keeping it taut enough to frame.

    • @NotoriousNeedle
      @NotoriousNeedle  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, that sucks lol Happens with my plastic hoops. You can do a couple of things.
      If you have a screw tension hoop, use leverage to screw it tight. Sometimes the screw in the hoop has a real screw head, and you can use a flathead or a Philips head screw driver to get it really tight.
      You can bind the inner hoop with binding. Essentially, wrapping a strip of cotton around the hoop to create friction. This is common in embroidery and although I haven’t done a tutorial on it as of this writing, there are tutorials on the internet. Just search “ how to bind your embroidery hoop”.
      Or you can gently sand the outside of the inner hoop with sandpaper. Try a very fine grade first, and if that doesn’t work, move up to a rougher grade. Make sure to get all the shavings and sawdust off before placing your fabric back in that hoop. And be careful as it might cause splinters!
      Good luck!

    Can we take the frame out. If not what can we do with this

    • @NotoriousNeedle
      @NotoriousNeedle  3 года назад

      Hi Chandra! This tutorial is for “finishing”, and by that I mean that the cross stitch is framed in the embroidery hoop. It’s not meant to come out when you’re done.

    Zdecydowanie czymś trzeba zakryć tył bo brzydko to wygląda. Dokleiłabym z tyłu okrągły kawałek filcu.

    My canvas is sometimes still quite stiff… what is the best way to handle that?

    • @NotoriousNeedle
      @NotoriousNeedle  Год назад +1

      Hi there, Melissa. If you’re using Aida, the manufactures usually add starch to stiffen it because they find it’s easier for their customers to stitch on. Of course, it’s not great for EVERYone lol
      Usually just a gentle wash, or even just a soak in warm, soapy water and a rinse is enough to get the starch out and soften the fabric.
      Only wash colorfast fabric and double-check the care instructions before washing or soaking, just in case.
      Hope that helps!
