  • In my view the best way to share a review of the Stepcraft M1000 is to show you some of the things I have made as I build out my shop and work towards being a CNC craftsman. (not sponsored)
Here are some links that may help you. I mention these in the video.
www.stepcraft.us/ for the machine I purchased
/ marklindsaycnc This is Mark a really good CNC instructor for Vcarve Pro CNC software.
/ learnyourcnc another instructor for CNC and he also has a paid course for about $200.00

Hey George. Great video! You’ve inspired me to get going with my M1000. I had a stroke last October and stopped making things. I’ve now recovered and retired and want to get going again. Thanks for the inspiration. Please keep it up. J

I could not be happier to hear you are up and running and will be getting into the shop. I love my CNC I have another Stepcraft M1000 that just arrived and and waiting for one more part to start putting it together. This time I opted to put it together myself. Please come join us in Laser Freedom on Facebook and post some of your projects, I run the group and you can say anything you want. I post my CNC project there also. CHEERS BRO.

George, I enjoy your videos but I would imagine that the guys at the Rockler and Woodcraft must smile everytime you come into the store. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the nice comment... Oddly I seem to get more and more of my stuff online. I build up a wood inventory I have no more room for work... Now I am going to get a Class 1 Laser and then it is project time. I will have no excuse not to do projects I have filled the garage with tools. Cheer Bro... Make Something.

Hey George, Well done glad you are enjoying your progress. I reaĺly want that step craft machine but I found another one by infinity and it's about $2000 cheaper, I still have about a month or 2 before I order to weigh the pros and cons. Keep up the good work.

I am not sponsored and have no interest in the Machine you buy..... I want everyone to get the very best machine for their needs. Like I said get that NOTE PAD out and do a comparison, I could have spent to much money, I am not saying your wrong. Knowing that more than just you will read this comment, I suggest you call the companies and ask them why you should buy their machine and make them do the comparison.... (wink)... THANK YOU very much for the nice comment.

George I’ve never thought you endorsed any product. I have had the M1000 for over a year and had a some problems initially but the Stepcraft support was very helpful and stayed with it until the problem was resolved. I look forward to your next video. J

@@Jeff-wd5ql Considering getting an M1000 myself. Do you mind describing the problem you had? Was it a hardware or software problem with the machine or the dreaded "user error"?

Thanks George for all the videos you have made on the Stepcraft M1000. I have just placed an order for this machine and maybe Stepcraft could think of sending you an accessory as a commission 🙂(seeing that you helped me with my which cnc decision making)..🙂
I have a few questions and even though they relate to some other videos you have made, I thought it best to just list them here.
    1) Are you still using just the Festool vacuum for your vacuum table? How long are your milling sessions? Do you get enough vacuum?
    2) I could not make out which Festool you were using for dust collection? I assume you have two Festool vacuums running at the same time, one for the vacuum table and the other for dust collection from the spindle? How efficient is the dust collection from the StepCraft spindle area?
    3) How bad is the noise when you are running the cnc plus the vacuums at the same time?
    4) Did you buy the ATC system?
    5) In one of your first videos you title it "Best CNC and 3D Printer", have you used the 3D Printer accessory yet? It would be interesting to hear what accessories you have added to your StepCraft and how happy you are with them.
    6) In terms of powering up the Stepcraft system, including the vacuum cleaners and computer. Do you have them all on separate circuits or are they all on the same 110V-20amp circuit?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions, and for the informative and entertaining videos. Just an FYI what I would find interesting is just a video showing how you have connected your Stepcraft up, to power outlets, vacuum hoses and your computer. Basically, just to give a feel for the ergonomics of your layout.

Thank you for the very nice comment, I am not sponsored by Stepcraft or anyone else. I want all people to get the best machine for their needs. I am thinking of adding another machine to my shop, something just a little smaller, and I am considering other makers. I make this point as I do not want to insult anyone else's machine. I am coming up on my one year review and will have more background on what did and did not work for me in the first year.
      Hope you enjoy your machine.

I’m sorry but really wanted to see what this machine can do but you went off topic. So I checked your other videos and you keep going in every direction but what the topic is supposed to be. You have a great speaking voice and a nice presence on the camera. I really thought I could subscribe but you did not go into any details about the machines and you did not even operate them
I wish you the best of luck 🤞

    • @GeorgeKennerLaser
      @GeorgeKennerLaser  2 года назад

I am sorry your expectations of the video were higher that what I delivered. At the time I made this video, I only had the machine about 6 months. Every day is a learning process. The most intensive part of these machines is the sottware "Vcarve Pro" and watching a mouse moving around on a grid is about as boring a visual that you can make. At least at this point my channel theme is to give basic exposure, and advance as I learn more. If you have any specific question or want to see the machine do something write to me at G . Kenner @ Yahoo and I will send you what you want. Again I am truly sorry.

    Great work.
I can wait for the next video and get your info on how to use it for a business.
Will be nice if you can post more often.
Have you make a project where you have use multiple tools and come back and is completed ?
I see you have the option on your M1000 of rack with several tools. ( that's very nice )
    Thanks for the hard work.
    From Cypress Texas thank you.

I want to post more but trying to set up the shop / studio is more time consuming than I thought it would be at first. There is a real learning curve to make the kind of things I want. Making the things for my shop is turning out to be a good idea. I promise I will try and do more and be more detailed in the future, but this is a learning process for me also.... Thank you for such a nice comment....

Well done! I understand you work mostly with wood, but have you tried working with aluminum on your stepcraft? Would you ever work with some metals? Thank you so much!!

    • @GeorgeKennerLaser
      @GeorgeKennerLaser  2 года назад

To this point no metal but I know that it can do the softer metals and very nicely. At this point I do not have anything planned in metal but I got this to play with so you never know. Thank you for the positive comment. Cheers.
