Hi, I’m new at photography and I just bought this same camera. But no matter what I do the pictures are dark and blurry. I watched your video and mirrored your setting but it did not help.
I'm guessing this is menu is somewhat similar to a 5diii
The cable to connect to the computer is super short, where can buy one that is at least 3 meters?

What’s your process of switching from video and photography quickly? I follow your work and see a lot of great videos and also great photos from the same places. So I just wanted to know how you capture those moments quickly?
Honestly most of the time I'll just flip back & forth from the video to photo button. I just make sure to figure out what I want my settings photo wise to be for that setting and video so when I switch back & forth I can get to the right settings asap.

Try updating to the newest version. Mkiv should have the Speedlite control menu

Correct, I shoot under Custom 1 and have Cinestyle which I use for both photo & video.

Hey buddy, great video. I'm not getting any sound on my videos and can't seem to find help anywhere. I'm using the internal mic and followed your settings but still nothing. Any idea where this could come from? thx !
In your audio setting do you have “auto” or manual set up? A quick way to test is try either settings, when you’re on main screen, click info button so it brings up all the info on the screen & in the bottom you should see the audio bar line & just make noises, snap fingers or something to see if it’s picking up sound. You should see the audio bar move when you make sounds to show the audios being picked up
@@JoeMooreProductions thank you for your quick response. I ended up filming it with my phone but I still can't figure it out. It's in Auto mode, but I did try both. Surprisingly, I do not see any audio bar line at the bottom in any of the info views on the video mode. :/
Take it out of auto mode & place into manual. Make sure you have current update for the mkiv as well

Any camera you can get your hands on. Also depends on what your skill level is. Canon 6D II & Canon MKIV are great cameras I'd recommend.

Hello, just watched while I just got my 5D iv in front of me, I’ve shot w my 6d for so many past years. Can I or do you know how to set up the function to shoot a photo while in video mode? It seems my camera out of the box only shoots photos while in picture mode?? Weird. Haha thx in advance if you get time to answer my question. ✌️🎥✨

No it won't because you're shooting in raw. If you take a photo in cinestyle it will show a flat image when you go to view on the lcd screen but when you bring into post it will still be a RAW image no matter what profile you use

Have you considered getting the real C-LOG upgrade? I kinda thought it probably wouldn't make much of a difference or be worth it and the fake C-LOG profiles at least looks like C-LOG, however I was wrong. I sent mine off, got it back very quickly, the difference is, you don't just get a C-LOG look anymore, you truly do have 12 stops of dynamic range vs probably around 7 to 9 with a fake C-LOG profile, as the fake C-LOGS actually have less than the Canon profiles. For example, under expose a fake c-log shot and bring it back up in post, go ahead and under expose it 2 or 3 stops. Do the same thing with the Neutral profile set at ProLOST settings, you'll notice that the Neutral is able to be brought back even after 4 stops and still won't have banding or noise everywhere but the fake C-LOG will fall apart at not even 2 stops. I was shocked at how big of a difference the real C-LOG actually made to my camera. For example, you can have a scene where you have two people under a tree in heavy shadow and see them perfectly and yet the Sky won't be white and blown out, it'll be blue. It's worth the $100. I was weary about sending mine off but their website tells you what they are doing to it in realtime with a tracker and it doesn't take but like a week or less.
I've heard mixed reviews from multiple people who've sent there camera off for the true C-log installation. I don't know if the pricing is still the same but I know a lot of people mentioned the $100 c-log installation and waiting for camera wasn't worth it. However, if it's providing 12 stops of dynamic range vs 7-9 with the fake c-log profile image, I think that would be worth it. Have you compared the true c-log profile vs the cinestyle set up? Unfortunately I haven't had a week to be able to send my camera off without needing it up until this week. So I may actually be considering sending my camera in. I'd like to see what the true c-log installation profile looks like vs the cinestyle.
I have actually ran that test, with Cinestyle and EOS HD C-LOG Profile all up against the real C-LOG. I could upload a video if you'd like. It is worth it and I myself took a while to do it because I had never sent my camera in and I didn't wanna be without it for long but the website gives you an update on what they're doing, it actually happens really fast. What is really impressive in the test I did was just how much you can bring back an image vs cinestyle. It's fairly drastic. What I found in those test was that the flat profiles actually gave me less dynamic range than even the regular Canon profiles. I was using them because I liked the look of them but one day I decided to actually test what was going on and I got far less dynamic range, like to the point it was unacceptable once I seen it. Then I sent in my camera for C-LOG because of this, hoping to still get that flat look to start with but at least get the DR of a Canon neutral profile. When I got it back I ran the same test and got even more dynamic range than the Canon Profiles and therefore far more than cinestyle. With CLOG on top of the already dual pixel auto focus with touch screen, the 5D IV becomes a lot more powerful of a video camera than I think most people would realize without actually using it. I'd say there is no way you'll regret spending the 100 dollars and a week on it. Plus you already spent all that money on it, might as well spend another 100 to make it the best video camera it can be.
That's dope! I myself, as I'm sure a lot of other 5d mark iv users would love to see a test video shootout between cinestyle, c-log (true version) and canon neutral profile images. And yea I have some down time to be ablere to send in my camera now so you may have sold me on it.
I can do that, I did make one video and uploaded it for someone but I took it down because it wasn't like the kind of video I'd want to put up and leave there it was just a quick test. However I will make a more comprehensive one and post it. I just started my photography channel, I haven't posted anything on it yet, I removed everything from this personal account. A good way to see the difference in under exposure recovery on the fake C-Log vs just a regular Canon profile and how drastic that is, go watch the Slanted lens video, it's titled A7Rii vs 5D Mark IV. The A7Rii wins in highlight recovery but the 5D Mark IV destroyed it in underexposure recovery, this was before C-LOG was out, however they were not able to destroy it with the fake C-LOG profile. After seeing that video, that's what caused me to do my own test.

you can go as low as 50 iso not 100.
You should use ADOBERGB not Srgb
I would, but most of my work flow is uploaded through the internet and color spaces that have adapted the SRGB work flow not the Adobergb color space. So uploading a image from the adobergb color space to places adapting the srgb will convert it to just that and do a terrible job at that. For print though obviously yes Adobergb would be the better way to go.

It's a lot to cover and I have enabled CC for people to follow a long. If it's moving to fast just go section by section pause and review on your camera. I'll try to slow it down for future videos thanks for the comment.
you can also change playback speed, make it slower with shift + < or faster with shift + >, rewind 10sec with the J key or left arrow key
