I remember being a kid ~10 years old and watching this in the theaters and coming home afterwards totally psyched. As soon as I got the VHS, myself and friends built my living room into a "Whiskey Outpost" and had out last stand against endless waves of bugs. Call time out to rewind the vhs and start it over again. Ahh the good memories hahaha
conscripts? Who the hells a conscript? Literally every single citizen is a volunteer in SST and we don't have conscripts in my country. All volunteer force. Found the anti-military manlet!
Well, to be more precise about Warhammer 40K resembling SST: The novel of SST was an inspiration for Games Workshop to base their 'Tyranids' race upon, because the SST novel from the year 1959 existed before the Tyranids were even created (first genestealers appeared in Space Hulk in the 1980's and warriors in 1990). Then Paul Verhoeven based his Arachnids for the SST movie on the appearance of the early Tyranids, but perfected them. So in the end they all stole it from eachother and vise versa!
You did an excellent job with this video; you polished the song to the point that I realize what we are missing is more instruments in the orchestra. This could be a much more complex piece; I think you did a much better job than the original version in bringing out the subtle complexities of this AWESOME piece.
Excellent! Ever since I first saw the movie, I've found this music to be one of the best massive-battle songs ever. It could go just as well with ground or space battles.
This piece is the most heroic & epic theme ever made!! Even Hans Zimmer can't stand up to this and he has done some extraordinary soundtracks too (The Rock, The Last Samurai, for example). This theme would make an excellent intro for a heavy metal -band! In fact, Nile used a part of this theme as a prelude when they were doing gig at Lutakko (Finland) few years back, it was awesome!!
i think 2 was really weird. didnt really feel like SST to me. tho the special effects were badass in 2. to me 3 kinda got it right but still no where near the first one. also so i heard that they might revamp the series so yea. but if Casper is not playing Rico i'm not that excited.
ALL HAIL STARSHIP TROOPERS THERE IS NO BETTER MOVIE THERE IS NO BETTER MUSIC THERE IS NO BETTER SOLDIERS! great job m8 this reminds me the first time i saw it and i whas only 6.
The title of the book is 'Starship Troopers.' It's about life in the armed forces of the future, with heavy politicle overtones. It's a very good book. Read it sometime.
God or world forbidd I ever have to go to war... But shall that day come, hopefully I'll be fighting really bad men or beings... And this Theme shall blast in my headphones underneath my helmet as I rip my way thru the battlefield... Til they shoot me down or I stand tall in blood... Awesome theme!
Great vid! I unfortunately only have seen Starship Troopers 2 all the way through, it has very little to do with the Book, game, and first movie...As far as I can tell anyway. perhaps I should borrow the book out of the local library or find our old VHS of the movie.
Great Video! Starship Troopers 4ever! 2nd and 3rd film was a mistake;) FPS was good for relax after work when i was in the mood for: kill'em! kill'em all! ;) The best game was Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy (rts from 2000 year) I still have a cd and i still play this game:) (sorry for my English btw)
Torch, read the book! It's still available. The author is Robert A. Heinlein. It was printed back in the late '50's. (Or early '60's). The book makes you think. =Stefan=
@thatamazinggeek if im not mistaken, they and the dozen other bug species encountered during the war were explained as biological engineering to fit the needs of the bug war machine. Movies kinda messed it up by nor digging deep enough into the bug's organization. but they occupied dozens of planets for food, fuel and new genetic profiles to use.
anybody know who wrote the theme? it has the same feeling as the robocop ost. great 80's scifi feel to it. i am currently working on my own scifi theme will be posted soon.
Seems I read it wrong, thought you were talking about the impossibility of the book x). My bad. But as for a movie, it wouldn't be that impossible. I mean, look at the computer effects used on the bugs. If you could get one or two of those suits as large scale props, the rest could be done in computer, I think. But then again, this is my unexperienced view of how to make a movie.
what do you mean :P I didn't lie in the title if that's what you mean, it IS extended, the original theme is only half of this + it's a little bit mixed too cause i added some more treble and bass and extra beats somewhere in the end,but that's for you to find out.
The book Starship Trooper was wirtten in the 1960's I think and featured the troopers in big suits of powered armour, the first instance of a now iconic sci-fi technology I think and the bugs were an actual intlligent space faring aline race, rather than a vast swarm of killer termites
If you have not read the book do so NOW!!! Otherwise your missing out, and by the way the only reason games such as Halo, Crysis, and fallout exist are because of this book!
wagner,so you learned to drive? What an accomplishment! I was 16 when I learned. I shot my first weapon at 10. My father was partial of the .45. So am I. "Nothing Much"?? Firing the weapon is nothing much. Anyone can squeeze a trigger. The skill is in hitting what you aim at. I am 54. I still have a 1/2 grouping at 30 yards. With the .45. And I don't use a match grade weapon. Give me the 1911A1, anyday. =Stefan=
@jonnathan002 it's more complicated. WH40k was mainly influenced by Dune and stuff that carried over from WHFB & modified creatively for sci-fi setting. The Tyranids were added as the extra faction. SC was more directly influenced by Aliens, which was in turn influenced by Starship Troopers. The Protoss were added as 3rd faction. No direct link between SC and WH40k. ... I agree, Starship Troopers was the first, and the most classic :) Robert. A. Heinlein was a brilliant author.
I remember being a kid ~10 years old and watching this in the theaters and coming home afterwards totally psyched. Cory Stewart sounds like some awesome stuff \m/
Yep, you can't do it without soundtrack XD
this should be the main song of the new U.S Space Corps
Starship Troopers is my second favorite Sci Fi movie along side Aliens
this could be my 5th favorite sci-fi movie
Starship Troopers, Aliens, and Star wars are my favorite movie series ever!
*high five*
me too
This movie is partly responsible for me enlisting in the infantry
snipeefox Using your body as a meatshield! CONSCRIPTS HERE WE GO!!! HOORAH!!!!
conscripts? Who the hells a conscript? Literally every single citizen is a volunteer in SST and we don't have conscripts in my country. All volunteer force.
Found the anti-military manlet!
It's a reference to 40k I think. Not meant as contextual within SST or real life.
Service guarantees citizenship!
Would you like to know more?
"Watkins you trying to be a hero!?"
Damn, I wish I would've read your warning label before I enlisted into the Federation Mobile Infantry.
Every time I listen to this, I just want to go outside and hose down an anthill.
only a good bug is a dead bug!
spray bottle with gasoline
Use niyro glycerin, just like the mini nukes!
That's fucking hilarious!
The BEST version!
Best movie ever. Masterpiece!
it's a really good movie but not a really big masterpiece for me
Playing this while playing xcom enemy unknown
Rally your forces to this theme, and you will be victorious against all odds. Love it

Great job man, loved this movie back in the day, keep up the good work, cheers.

It's rare that a man can admit his mistakes. I salute you. On an awesome ST theme.
One of the best Sci Fi films ever!!!!
You did an excellent job with this video; you polished the song to the point that I realize what we are missing is more instruments in the orchestra. This could be a much more complex piece; I think you did a much better job than the original version in bringing out the subtle complexities of this AWESOME piece.
Sweet. Good work the way you extended the music seamlessly.
Excellent! Ever since I first saw the movie, I've found this music to be one of the best massive-battle songs ever. It could go just as well with ground or space battles.
really great video, one of the best SST videos i've ever seen ! fav it 4 ever :X
Ultimate thanks and respect to your service and word play.
THX FOR THE GREAT REPLIES SO FAR, hope you'll like my other movies too, this video is actually my tribute to the best stand alone sci-fi movie around.
The mobile infantry is brave enough but they need better weapons, body armor, tactics, battle plans and on and on and on.
"We're going back to Pee." I mean P.
This is the best Sci Fi film, i remember the first time I watched it when I was 8 and fell in love with it.
@nemysisNED Both Paul Verhoeven and Basil Poledouris worked in Robocop and Starship Troopers
I read the book in the early '60's (Robert Heinlein) and I joined the Mobile Infantry (Paratroopers) and fought the bugs(VC).
first movie rules! the sequels were bollocks.
Great soundtrack :D It gives me the feeling of going outside squishing some bugs! ;D TYVM for upload
GOOD GOD MAN I NEVER THORT ABOUT THAT, your a genius!!!

nice job man...
i love this movie...

The title of the book is 'Starship Troopers.'
It's about life in the armed forces of the future, with heavy politicle overtones. It's a very good book. Read it sometime.
Dang I just got goosebumps 😳
God or world forbidd I ever have to go to war... But shall that day come, hopefully I'll be fighting really bad men or beings... And this Theme shall blast in my headphones underneath my helmet as I rip my way thru the battlefield...
Til they shoot me down or I stand tall in blood...
Awesome theme!
I get goosebumps when I hear this song.. Oh the memories.
" COME ON YOU APES! YOU WANNA LIVE FOREVER1" Classic Battle cry used in WW 1 by D. Daly- twice awarded the Medal of Honor
@bloodbathfan There were several "use map settings" custom maps that were RPGs based on starship troopers, I remember them being quite fun.
Great vid! I unfortunately only have seen Starship Troopers 2 all the way through, it has very little to do with the Book, game, and first movie...As far as I can tell anyway. perhaps I should borrow the book out of the local library or find our old VHS of the movie.

The Starship Trooper RTS was the first game released shortly after the movie(within a few months)
For fuck's sake this is awesome and takes me straight back to the late 90's.
@bloodbathfan
I remember watching this movie and going to play Starcraft afterwards.
Good times...
video with the scenes of the film and the game...good idea,i like this movie.
Come on you apes, you wanna' live forever?!
amazing

Some great times :)
Pretty awesome
goddamnit I LOVED the custom map based on this movie.
oh yes!!! i love the plot!
@bloodbathfan yes and it made for perfect custom maps back in brood war =)
anybody know who wrote the theme? it has the same feeling as the robocop ost. great 80's scifi feel to it.
i am currently working on my own scifi theme will be posted soon.
the best theme to a film and the best film ever made fucking amazing film :D
Yeah, you have to love Hell's Half Acre in Wyoming. Watched them film it there
Love the song. I think this would be better if it only had movie clips though.
oh yes. i love it!
@itonas13 As I recall, it also created another now classic sci-fi trope, Powered Armour
Seems I read it wrong, thought you were talking about the impossibility of the book x). My bad.

is it? i never knew there was a book! cheers :D
yeah in my opinion starship troopers was one of the great classic sci fi's. and yet some people think it was a parody!!!
We have one of their brains now....pretty soon we'll know how they think.
There's no doubt about it, this is Basil Poledouris.
Good for you, mobile infantry got me to be the man i am today!
Yeah Mobile infantry 2!
If you have not read the book do so NOW!!!
Otherwise your missing out, and by the way the only reason games such as Halo, Crysis, and fallout exist are because of this book!
One of the greatest movies ever!!! - I wanna join the Mobile Infantry now...go the rouge necks
fucking awesome best movie ever and best song ever composed for a movie
dayum thts sick
HOOORAAHHH.
Sadly it will release in spring 2008 on DVD. But it will be much better than part 2!!!!
@jonnathan002 starcraft was based on dark colony more than warhammer 40k. something that most people don't know
Starship Troopers 1 was the ONLY good of all three parts.
Your quotes contain more fiction than Heinlein's greatest works.
and has im watching this video im installing the game to lol what a coincidence.
Klendathu Drop! I love this song.

This is an altered (extended) version :P i forgot how long the original theme lasted :S but it's about half of this one.
it is one of the best action game
Sorry, F84.You are totally right. Rapgeezer just pissed me off. Basill's music is fantastic!!I actually met him. =Stefan=
