    How I cured my blepharitis.
Bletharitis is a chronic eye condition. If you suffer with this you will know how much it can impact your life.
Let me know if you try this and if it works for you like it has for me.
this is totally my own opinion. I am not medically trained. If you decide to do this you are doing this at your own risk

Wow!!! You absolute legend… albeit early days.
I’ve been suffering with this for a few weeks now, being new to me, I hated it. My eyes felt like I was going blind at times. Blurry, hurting, just generally worrying.
I see this video earlier today, and like you, thought what do I have to lose.
Within minutes after the initial stinging, they felt so much better.
I hope it stays this way.
I shall put a bit more on later before bed and then see how things are tomorrow.
    Thank you!

Fab. It’s been quite a few months now since I filmed this video and my eyes are still so much better. I think I’ve had two episodes where they’ve felt a little itchy and I’ve been like ‘ohhhh no’ so popped a little honey in and within minutes back to being great. It’s amazing the relief isn’t it?

@@Katievlogs the difference within 15 minutes was night and day to how I’ve been the last 2 weeks.
With my job I drive all day. So it was especially worrying - as I was fearing the damage was going to be long term.
Thank you! I really do appreciate this video.

I suffer from it also and I was crying when you said it gets so bad you want to rip your eyes out because i can so relate. I’ve been to so many eye specialists and no prescription worked at all. I went and bought the Manuka honey. It did sting for a minute so crossing my fingers this works because this condition literally puts you in a state of depression. I’ll keep you posted

I've been suffering from blepharitis more than 10 years ago. During the onset, it was really, really bad that my eyes were almost swollen shut and yes, I wanted to rip my eyes off of my head. I used a homemade warm saline rinse then coconut oil and that cleared it up. But a year later it came back, and since then became chronic. I used the old saline solution again but I was then I got scared because I might harm my eyes with it, so I stopped. I went to an ophthalmologist who prescribed me a bunch of expensive eye wipes and an ointment, which cleared up my eyes but I couldn't maintain that regimen because the price was too much.
That's when the condition became chronic. My eyes don't swell anymore and there's no crud, but my lower lash line has been red every single day from then on, and people randomly ask me if I'm wearing red eyeliner. It's that bad. It's still itchy, too. My high school classmate who's an anaesthesiologist once told me as we were having lunch to have my eyes checked because it looked like I had an active infection.
Last week, I had my husband take pictures of my inner eyelid while I everted the lid. When I saw the pics, I became sick. There were some tiny ulcers here and there, and the whole area it looked infected for both eyes. Now, I'd heard of using honey on the eyes before and I was about to try it a few days ago but was too chicken. Then I saw your video when I searched for "chronic blepharitis" here on YT. Hallelujah! I tried it with some raw honey from our Canadian Boreal Forests and man, it stung so bad. I teared up like you did in the vid but it was good tears because after the stinging, my eyes felt SO CLEAN. Like they were washed from the inside! Honey is an antiseptic, after all, so no wonder. They're still red because they've been red for ages, but the itching is gone and my eyes just feel so FRESH. I'll do this daily and update on the redness and itchiness.
Thank you for being brave and showing us how it's done! Had I not seen your video, I would have gone to another eye doctor and gotten more drops, wipes, and ointments and used them in vain.

Big thanks as my eye feels and looks better after one day. I have been washing it more and reapplying. Honestly am so happy. It's likely to be same as dental care but honestly.... Honey.. Even my eyeball is feeling cooler and lid has lifted again..

Oh my ACTUAL STARS! Hi Katie, found you today as I’m am that person ready to rip my eyes out 😩 . I am a Health & Fitness & Wellness advisor - favouring Natural remedies , Nutritional Medicine and Preventative healthcare.
However, this dam blepharitis is a swine and for some reason mine has gone nuts. Found your post and you’re right - I would put just about anything in or on my eyes just to be able to be comfy again, and get on with my life!
    People - it works😃!!
Put some raw , unpasteurised honey that I buy from a local bee keeper, as Katie demo’d. I swear to goodness , within 5 minutes my eyes felt different. It’s now 5 hours on and my eyes feel waaay more comfy, no itch, and seem to be healing as I watch. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 this continues because I’ve used & tried everything off the shelf and natural. Colloidal silver works when the condition is minor but if you get a bad go , nothing really gets rid, just soothes and mediates.
So, Katie THANK YOU😘 🙏🏼 also could you tell how often you apply , when and do you use it prophylactically or only when you detect onset?
I’m gonna be spreading this in my “Healthy Ageing” club for sure.
Gotta love nature, she has the answer for just about everything, if we just look and share 🌍

Ok, Hi Katie - hi to us Blephers 👀 ,… an update:
I’m now on day two of Operation Queen Bee. I’m very pleased to say that my eyes continue to improve - the relief is beyond words. This was the worst bout I’ve ever had - I haven’t had that many and I’ve always managed to get it under control. This has been a bit of a shocker - worsening progressively since June 😵‍💫
      So, thought I’d share
My routine: On waking Ive immediately washed hands then used Tea Tree wipes ( 1#hack I cut in them in half for economy and use each side per eye - store in packet in fridge) then use sterile drops & a heat pad to soothe. Apply Cool pure witch hazel on nasolabial folds & inner cheek ( the redness was spreading there too ! )
After me cuppa, normal wash routine finishing with liberal “ kohl “ liner of honey & off to work.
I’m a fitness instructor so sweating is a daily norm - and it’s a killer on blephy eyes! BUT (2#hack) the honey liner stops the sweat just short of my eyelashes 😃so I’m using soft cloth to keep sweat wicked away as class progresses.
Soon as class over - wipe with Tea tree pad (3#hack) which I put in an ice bag so it’s sterile, cool & soothing.
Soon as I’m home - repeat morning routine & fresh honey application. On a busy day I might have 2 classes and 3-4 Personal training seshes so I do this between each one if I can 🥵
By end of yesterday I was SO much more comfy. Went to bed avec le bee juice and woke up with no revert to swelling! ( my Bleph was always getting worse or returning overnight , this time)
Today my eyes are slowly returning to depuffed - still a tad wrinkly and red but they were really ‘effed 🥺so it’ll take a while BUT no itch, no sore , no sting , no bleph 🙌🏼
My thoughts on why this works:
as a naturopath I recommend honey for all sorts - I make my own antibiotic with it, for instance. It’s antibiotic, anti-microbe , antiseptic BUT I would never have thought of putting it in an eyeball! Y’live and learn 💁🏻‍♀️ Colloidal silver also has those qualities but also works by ‘suffocating’ the microbes. However, it’s clearly not strong enough when the bacterial or microbial overgrowth has gone nuts - which had happened to me ( still haven’t quite worked out why …🤔)
I think the honey does the same thing as CS but way more powerfully. It’s so gloopy that the little blighters don’t stand a chance and stop reproducing instantly.
Not sure if that’s fact , I’m just offering my thinking that I thunk :0)
Anyhoo, that’s quite enough wittering and emoticons from me.
      A very happy comfy-eyed me 😊

I'm only in my mid twenties and my blepharitis has been absolutely devastating. I have worn contacts for over a decade and had to stop about half a year ago. I've since become totally allergic to silicone hydrogel contacts and my eyes are constantly looking red/yellow.
Can you keep us posted with your blepharitis? We need honesty obviously. I know this may not be a miracle cure but even if it helps for a few weeks, that's SO much better than any other treatment.

It gives your coffee a delicious, rich, nutty flavor and it will lubricate your joints, condition your skin (making one look younger) and moisten your eyes... It takes about 3 or 4 days of daily use to notice a difference, but ot makes a huge difference and it's so good for you!

I’ve had dry eyes for 35 years. I’ve seen eye specialists, different eye drops, ointments and antibiotics. My eyes are always bloodshot and feel red raw, hot etc I feel that I want to take my eyes out and put them into iced water. The past year, I have had several episodes of crusty eyes in the mornings and when having my eyes tested, the optometrist has said that I have blepharitis. I’ve been doing my own research and found an article on manuka honey that appears to work or at least help. You can buy it in gel form called Optimel but I think I’ll be brave and have a go with ordinary honey. It certainly can’t make my eyes any worse. 🤞🏻it helps.

I was diagnosed with blepharitis 20 years ago, by the time I got to see an eye specialist both of my eyes were badly infected. It was weeks of pain, irritation and dryness. When you see someone else describe how bad it is, it can make you feel a bit emotional because peoole who don't suffer from it have no idea or understanding how bad it is. I've kept on top of it mostly but it's flared up again. I may well try honey. I would suggest continuing with the honey because I don't think blepharitis is curable but you can keep it totally under control.
Crying is the worst thing for dry eyes because what most people don't understand is that tears are poor quality, they do not lubricate the eyes and can wash out what little natural lubrication you have.

I was diagnosed 7 yrs ago. Ruined my whole summer and countless eye specialists and $800 in prescriptions that did absolutely nothing. I saw an eye surgeon who knew instantly what i had and told me to buy Systane eyelid wipes and Systane eyedrops. It worked within a few days but for whatever reason it didn’t work for any flare ups after that. This latest flare up is BRUTAL. The itching is so bad you just want to curl up in a ball and cry because you feel helpless. Just bought the manuka honey so we’ll see if it works. So crossing my fingers. Its been almost an hr. Still a little itching but maybe it’s early to tell

@@Emilzrosefrom what i can tell its an overgrowth of microbes in the eyelashes/pores, or clogging and malfunction of the pores. If its microbes honey, tree tree oil, antibiotics, etc should be taken accordingly (apparently mites are a leading cause). If its clogged pores then ive heard heat compress + expressing the glands + vitamins (oils good for eyes, omega 3). Most of the causes seem to be pretty persistent too so dont let up on treatment/good hygiene. Best of luck.

Honey has good anti microbial properties (it sucks the water out of the cells of microbes) and can be used for a multitude of skin conditions. I'd be careful putting anything in or near your eye for sure. Tea tree oil helped me (make sure its very dilute if you try it) but its very harsh compared to honey.

I just learned about this. Anterior blepharitis .... I had this condition for year's from baby into my 20's. My morning routine (mother taught) was to use a warm wet wash cloth to my eye's each morning so I could loosen the dried crud that prevented my eye's from opening. I never told anyone about this, this was a normal routine for me. When I was a little older and started wearing mascara I would also (bad to do) use a tiny pin to pick some the remaining crud off. I believe this method helped with the slow progress of clearing up (looking back at this now). I am in my 60's now and have never had an issue once it finally cleared up.

It is basically torture, watching your video at the moment, and it feels like it did when you mentioned that you wanted to rip out your eyeballs. Been to the Eye doctor 3 times, and all they do is give me some eyedrops which helps for about 5 minutes, they also gave me a mild cortisone gel which I could only use for 2 weeks, which helped. Now I'm back on square one: Both eyes feel like desert and I'm red around the eyelids. It's hell, I can't believe that there isn't a cure for it (that doctors aren't aware of).

    3. How long did you use this originally until swelling went down around the eye?

    • @flailmail7069
      @flailmail7069 11 месяцев назад +1

I'd wash it off within a few minutes at most. It will dry out your eyes and probably isnt good to have in contact with your eyeball itself for long periods.
Do it once a day at least, and a hot compress for 4-5 minutes before before using honey will help your pores open up and help alot.
Honey is an anti-inflammatory as well when applied topically, so it *should (citation needed) help with swelling on the eyes. You CAN leave honey on the skin near your eyes overnight but i would not reccomend leaving it on or close to your eyes for long periods as it will dry them out extensively (it will do this to your skin too). The goal with honey is to kill microbe overgrowth on/in the skin/eyeslashes/pores.
