I've been having issues with early extension, excessive lateral movement toward the target causing me back pain, inconsistancy and bunch of other problems. This by far has been the best remedy for all these issues. I focus now on staying behind the ball and I can't early extend if I try, no more chicken wing, I'm nice and balanced at the finish, no more revers C and pressure on lower back. Amazing thanks Bobby you saved me.
Another great video Bobby, your full shoulder turn, move off the ball in the backswing, pull down, staying onsides stuff has helped me hugely. My yardage is way up with no loss of accuracy. So a big thank you and I'll be subscribing to your website.
Bobby, Enjoy the way you provide clear video examples to support your explanations of the important parts of the swing. How does one keep the chest turned while starting the downswing (2:00 drill) & at virtually the same time rotate the left hip toward the right heel? These 2 moves seem incompatible and almost “fight” against one another. Concentrating on doing one exclusively brings good results for me but, I’m having difficulty combining these 2 into the same swing. What am I not understanding? Thank you.
A very helpful video for me, I'm not as bad as the guy but I've a long way to go to have a swing like the young lady. I understood your analogy of off sides although I know nothing of American football. In the rest of the world we call football what Americans call soccer, also there is off side in rugby union and rugby league so golfers around the world will understand your terminology.
Jeff, Pulling down will only steepen the shaft if your shoulders turn as well. You need to separate the arms from the body on the beginning of the downswing. You can always upload a video of your swing to our site for a free analysis www.quickfixgolf.com
Bobby - it's clear from watching your videos that good players don't go offsides. But, there is a big difference between knowing and doing. Many amateurs do go offsides. I know I move my head forward, causing loss of lag and low point too far forward. But fixing it seems hopeless. I set up with tilt and I keep it going back. Then I lose it in transition, every time. Occasionally I try so hard to stay back, I collapse to the right. I seem to feel very out of balance in that tilt. Very awkward, not in equilibrium. I see the ball from a strange angle and my brain doesn't like it. My body wants to be more straight up, my eyes want to be level, not all tilted. How do I work on this?
Chubby, It could and you could get the opposite reaction. That's why it's best for you to take a video of your swing an email it to me so I can advise you properly. bobbyopez@quickfixgolf.com
To do what the girl is doing yes. She's going to have a sore back eventually. It doesn't take much flexibility to give the arms a head start on the down swing. Give it a try in front of the mirror first.
I understand your frustration...so don't get my comments to be personal. I tried 'creating' lag...can't do that. I can't....I've had more success...and more lag with better fundamentals etc.... Well, this reminds me of Iron Man: Obadiah Stane: Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave! With a box of scraps! SCIENTIST: Well, I'm sorry. I'm not Tony Stark. =========================== We're not Gary Player...and he pretty much does do what Bobby says (in his prime anyway)...but just not get behind the ball the way Bobby advocates. It's not far off...but Gary also does hundreds of sit-ups per day etc....things that 99.99% of folks his age can't do...and most were not able to do in their teens. Getting behind the ball, and not getting on top of it and certainly not getting past the ball is an essential part of vast majority of great swings IMO.
Wesley, Yes I remember Gary having trouble with that back in 1973. I listened in while Gary and Henry Cotton talked about it. Gary said he was trying to weaken his left hand grip to no avail. Also, I wouldn't call what this young lady is doing as hanging back? I think the feel is more underneath? I little too much stating down which I think will hurt her back eventually. Fact is there is no one method for everyone I think. That's why we work off a video of the golfer. Some golfers cover the ball with their chest and still do well. You have to do what is best for you.

Great! Thanks so much for watching.

Bobby, you rock!
Thanks for watching Capeesh? Send me a video of your swing so we can help you out!!!!
Love your vids and description of the swing. Use your lessons to help me.
Denny, Thanks for watching!
Thanks Denny! Glad it helped.
Great video Bobby! I Capeesh! Madone have to practice this until I have it down to submission.
What's a matta you!

Good to know Chip, thanks for watching!
If you don't move forward how do you shift your weight?
Why does half the instructors say pulling down steepens the shaft witch also makes sense pleas explain specifically. Thx

Rexx,
Send in a video of your swing front and back to bobbylopez@quickfixgolf.com and we can both see what YOUR situation is.
I thought pulling down deepens the shaft plane and gets the club steep?
Chubby, It could and you could get the opposite reaction. That's why it's best for you to take a video of your swing an email it to me so I can advise you properly. bobbyopez@quickfixgolf.com
It takes a good amount of flexibility to do that move

guy on the left is in more trouble too with his equipment, geez that soft flex at the bottom is trouble as well. he needs something a lil stiffer.
Balogna, watch Gary Player hit the ball. He doesn't hang back. Tried this hanging back and hooked everything off the planet.

I'm going with Gary Player, rotation and going thru the ball. No hanging back. Watch his videos.

Gary Player should know situps will destroy your back. Worst exersize for your back. Not his swing hurting his back its situps. Dont hang back.
