Great video Jason and what a back drop, literally 😂😂👍 Like the tent mate, much more you and sitting up makes such a difference for relaxing in. 👍 Hope the wife enjoyed searching for ticks 😂👍
Excellent video man. Christ that tent is spacious. So handy dropping the inner. A long ole night in the evening would be nice in that space. 1st time seeing a tic. Feckers. Pulled a few off the dog. Great choice with the chicken burger. Hungry now. That is a savage spot you picked. Thank crunchy your not a sleep walker 🤣🤣 cliff hanger Jason. Brilliant video man. Loved it.
It's a really savage tent for hiding from the rain. I'd like to test it in the wind, I'm not sure how it would hold up. Yeah the tick is a nasty looking thing. Even how it moves is creepy. 😂 Imagine sleep walking, I wouldn't recommend camping to someone who sleep walks. Cheers man 👍
Yeah the wool stuff seems to be pretty class and because its military issue they are built to last. Cheers for the tip but I can't use it because we have a cat at home. I wouldn't risk it 🐈⬛
I have the minipeak XL version of that tent, highly recommend it too. But not worth buying from the lovely English shop anymore because of Brexit. But there is a Swedish stockist that sells them for similar money and no import taxes. I have the inner too and there are plenty of hoops! A decent stove is twice the price of the tent however...
The XL version must be gigantic 😄 I'd love to try a hot tent but like you said the stove is the most expensive part of it. I'd say it's definitely worth investing a bit more on the stove, that way it will likely be lighter and better quality.
Glad tent was a success, due to constant rain since Christmas my Hexpeak you advised me on is still in bag. Looks loads room, I'm hoping I may fit in centre mine say in my Helinox chair.
Such a good video pal. When are you starting the campfire cooking series because your burger looked amazing and the sausage bap was a triumph. Waiting for the launch of a cook book in the merch. Also, will never go wild camping again. The freaky light behind you is the stuff of my nightmares!!!! Lol. Thanks again Jason for another great show.
😄I don't think that would be a top seller. I'm enjoying cooking while I'm out, especially on the long winter nights when there is plenty of time. Ah sure I would imagine they were more freaked out about the guy talking to himself in the woods 😄 If it had been zig zagging it's way toward me then I would have shat me pants 🙈😂
That's fame Jason - the paparazzi checking you out! 🙃 Great spacious set-up for the long nights and the sausage bap was the winner for me in terms of looks but no doubt the chicken burger tasted absolutely gorgeous too!! 😉
😄 They must be fair dedicated to be out searching the woods at that time of night, fair play to them.. The tent is class but it only makes me want to look at other tents like the Duomid, I have issues 🙈 You can't go wrong with a bap 🙌
That chicken bap looked delicious even to this vegetarian. 😀 Got out myself last night, first cold camp, at least -5 but survived it. Assumed I was alone too but who knows... 🤞
Nice new tent. I have a Luxe Megahorn, looks a bit similar. Even deep into the forest here in Oregon, you never know if someone is right around the corner... Hopefully the light behind was from a kindred sort... Chicken burger looked amazing! Cheers
I'm delighted with the tent, I wouldn't mind trying one of their hot tents 🤔 It's the first time that I have ever seen anyone knocking around at that time, even though I didn't see it until I started editing. To be fair I'd say they were more freaked out by the guy talking to himself in the woods than I would have been of them 😂 Cheers, I had my doubts on the burger but it was lush. I hope all is good with you, mind yourself 👍
Glad with all that sliding around that you didn't slide off the edge! Looks a lovely spot. I bet whoever it was with the torch was thinking "I'm sure I can hear voices" and got out of there sharpish! Cheers!
Stunning place to camp! I like that tent, remind me of my Lanshan 1 Plus in a way. I think If Lanshan made a very similar tent, lighter materials at around 1kg, T doors mesh, some small upgrades - it would be very popular. Good stuff pal.
I agree, it's basically a heavier MLD duomid but if 3f UL Gear made one it would be a very popular tent. There are european companies making tents similar to the duomid. Here is one that I know of liteway.equipment/shelters/pyraomm-duo/pyraomm-duo-tarp
@@RamblingOn Looks good, will watch some youtube vids about it. Cannot wait to go out for a long hike again. I also need to find a good light 3p tent for family camping 🏕
A charming little post, enjoyed that Jason. Funny I've been doing exactly the same as yourself; and have bought a woolen army jumper; in a bid to move towards more natural clothing. Really surprised to see so many creepy crawlies around this time of year..Hope there was no tick infestation when you got home!? Its gonna be absolutely crawling with insect life there, come the spring and summer time. Probably a better winter pitch..haha! Loved the shot of the moon, high overhead. Added to the gothic atmosphere of someone wandering in the woods in the dark👻..haha.. Were you anywhere near a path or trail, or were they actually wandering around in the middle of nowhere? Looking forward to the next one..take care Jason!
Great minds think alike. I really liked using it, it's a nice addition to my layers. No I was free and clear thankfully. I did have a pretty snug base layer on too so that likely helped to keep them at bay. I wouldn't even consider camping there in the summer. The ferns would be very high and the midges alone would be cruel. I doubt that I'd return to that exact spot, I like finding new places. There was a trail behind me but that was a pretty dense bit of woodland so I was very surprised to see that. It was moving quiet fast so maybe they were on a mountain bike.. Either way they definitely saw the light on my camera and thought it better to carry on than approach the weirdo in the woods😄 Mind yourself Tim 🙌
Cracker wee spot there Jason, stunning view as you say! Well worth the risk of plummeting to your death for a midnight pee! Here, I no longer get out in the middle of the night, I’ll get Martin to send you the video of my night time solution for staying in the tent!😂
I might head back there when I get a drone so I can show exactly where I was. I've already seen the video of your solution 😄 I will be doing the same thing don't you worry. There is nothing worse in the middle of the night than having to clamber out of the tent in the freezing cold🥶
Great vid Jason, I don't think that tent comes with side attachments for the inner, it's been on my radar for a while now, but I hadn't noticed that, just watched a few other vids on it and no mention of them, but by looking I can't see any on anyone else's either ??
I had contacted the company I bought it from who were not very helpful to say the least. Apparently its up to the buyer to add in the attachments which I think is ridiculous and should be stated in the description of the tent so each customer is aware of that before purchase. It's a really nice little tent and a very similar design to the MLD Duomid
@RamblingOn yeh totally agree, it's obviously a generic inner if that has attachments but the fly doesnt, it does sound crazy that they expect you to start sewing attachments on yourself, did I see a reply from you on another comment that you have another new tent ??
@@Mickoutdoors ypu dont have to sew anything but there is no way to attached the two loops together. I have attached a bit of bungee cord and made a toddle. I'll show it the next time I'm out in it. Lymes disease is on the rise its something I think of now and again.
Brilliant Comment Derrick concerning Lyme. It's a nightmare of a disease. Our RUclips people like Jason here And Martin @ Sole Trail, should do a Lyme awareness section. If anyone gets a bit of a tick, and a red ring forms out from the bit area, forming a circle like a bull's eye target. Then waste no time in FINDING A DR WHO will give you a good course of antibiotics. Doctors differ patients suffer for years, indeed all their lives. Advise on keeping legs covers etc would be great. Lyme has got more complicated with the padding years. Anywhere you have deer, you have the Lyme tick, they now travel on mice.
@@gonefishingtoday yes I heard a radio talk show on about it one day and it would scare you.Pretty serious stuff.I know a girl that had it and she went through an awful time before they found out what she actually had.Its kinda rampant these days.
When I saw it in the edit I zoomed in and the torch definitely looked my way once or twice. They definitely would have seen the light on the camera but I never noticed them until I was editing 😄 To be honest I never even considered the ticks being an issue, it's just not something that I thought of but I have learned from this camp that I need to be more vigilant. Like you said the tick is a nasty little thing, apparently lymes disease can be cured within the tick if the tick first attaches to a deer as their blood has a natural anti body for lymes disease. That's just something that I read and the chances of them being cured before they bite you is slim.

Great video. I like the look of that setup. The tent look very spacious. And yes your wife is a genius. That burger looked well tasty.
I love the space inside that tent, I've sorted the inner too 🙂 Yeah she made a good call on the burger, I had my doubts 😄
He scored points, and had a great meal outta the deal ha
I try and stay clear of ferns as they are a hotspot for ticks.
I was lucky that I had none on me when I got home so happy days
