Performance Marching Band - Grade 4
Here is Journey's signature hit from 1981 in a high octane version for mature bands. With the mellos/horns on the signature guitar riff, carefully paced impact points, and a driving percussion score, this is sure to whip the crowd into a frenzy. (Includes optional guitar part and synth vocals for added sizzle)

This video is about to have so many views from people who searched "marching band Don't Stop Believing" after watching that crazy sketch that just aired on SNL.
This one is not misspelled though
I played this song during one of my band concerts in 6th grade and in that same year a girl from my school, Ciara Smith, was killed in an accident. A bus hit her when she was trying to cross the street on her bike. She was only 13 years old when she died. I didn't get to know her, but I had a few friends who knew her. So a few weeks before my band concert, my band teacher decided to play Don't Stop Believing in memory for Ciara Smith. Once every band played their songs, every band got up and played this song. I have no idea how to express how much emotion I felt playing this song for Ciara. All I remember is everyone crying in the gym once we played that last note. So now I keep coming back to this video as a sophomore and tear up every time I listen to this.
Rest In Peace, Ciara Smith.
Lmao what’s her Kd?

@@gfuelgiant7605 This ain't it chief.
This is absolutely the best mellophone part I've ever seen!
yea
J.M. Hamilton - French Horn This is very similar to the Cadets Drum and Bugal Corps version. They played it as an encore tune. Worth checking out.
Oh, I've seen their encores and I've seen them play it live. I really want to play this in our colleges pep band.
Wow it actually it just like it
BrickLogicStudios I'm just going to take a wild guess...Jay Bocook probably arranged it for the Cadets. He does a lot of Drum Corps arrangements and stuff like that.
Tuba part: 😊
Clarinet part: 😊
Baritones part: ☺️
Horns and alto sax part: 🥰🔥🌈❤️🥰😍👌🔥
one of the coolest horn/alto arrangements i’ve heard
Why do I want to play this so bad because I am a tuba and horn player and for this I would wanna play horn.
Great horn part!!!
OMG I HAVE LITTERALY BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR YEARS AND IM CRYING TEARS OF JOY CAUSE I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT
Joslyn Blanks hi old me
Im in drum line and I really like how in this arrangement the drum line parts are somewhat challenging and you have to practice them a bit unlike most of the other songs
the worst person you should have seen our version
the worst person drumline is awesome I'm a percussionists
I'm in pit. Goodbye arms.
@@kaitlynkat1998 You're not alone
I’m a percussionist too. In eight grade, I was one of our four best percussionists.
1:37 this is my moment to unleash my maximum volume on alto sax
Johnny Sarro same,lol
Same
We trumpets like doing that
No one else like this comment it's on 69

This is amazing because our last marching show featured parts of this timeless song so EVERYTHING is making me nostalgic... Great job; they're all amazing, but especially Counting Stars, Trumpets, Radioactive and this. I love this channel sm
I played this in marching band before I moved to another state, this is bringing back the memories of having fun
I believe Carolina Crown played this exact song and their impacts brought tears to my eyes
No it was the Cadets my mistake
I all most cride to the tubas are soo good
The one marching arrangement that recognizes the Bari saxes existence. YAY
Bari sax? where? All i see is baritone
@@rickyreza301 it’s on the tuba part that’s why it looks so high in the beginning
This song remands me of 3B and their memory for kindness.
This was the last song i played for my bamd and it was so much fun having it.
Gonna show this to my Band Teacher
Where's all my trombones at👌😛
at the beat drop stupid
I am here
here ig
I learned drill for this song and it was so amazing marching to this every home game 😌 Trumpet one was dope
I caught myself singing the lyrics..
Watermelon Fairy. Omg same. But I was singing Don't Start Un-believing from Gravity Falls
this is the most iconic arrangement you've ever made
Trumpet 1...I can't feel my lips...
thats me but on the trombone cuz Im the only one lol
Stacy Sakamoto wow, just sad 😂
Also Trumpet 1... What are lips?
Caleb Corrales exactly
Trombone is just painful, when you play melody
I'm in Pit. And I'll play the xylophone part in this song. I don't think I'll have arms anymore after this marching season.
Send. Help.
Same here. I will be playing the xylo part for this piece this fall. Do you have any tips for playing the sixteenth note runs? I'm a non-percussionist, so I don't know these things.
im in love with the mello part
that alto sax, horn and mallet percussion part looks like hell
This is my jam; the first 40 seconds are the best in my opinion.
7th grade, this was our band song bro. percussion was goated bro i got triangle and we rewrote it where triangle played every 2 beats
The only time i see the composer actually using the horns high range
My marching performed this as well with carry on wayward son, Michelle, and getaway/September...beautifully written out, and mellophone with first valve tho lol
La versione più bella in assoluto ,bravissimo
I miss performing this during marching season.... our show was amazing I love how much movement our colorguard had and the band along with us kinda dancing it's my freshmen year now I'm going to be a sophomore and it was my first marching show and I already miss it 😭😍 we did this song open arms and anyway you want it also another one from journey with open arms I can't remember but it was anyway you want it as first movement then second movement as open arms and the other song then 3rd movement as don't stop believing
Miriam Mendoza what's marching season? Sorry I'm still in middle school no clue what marching season is
I play this song for Trumpet 1 every year...and if you practice like you should (Every day) your chops won't hurt
at all *This goes for mainly trumpet 1's*
That is if you have good range :/
Bass clarinet rules !!!!
I love that I play the Mellophone.
Thankyou so much
Cool songs
I like those 16th note decents for alto sax and mellophone.
Jayson Sumner I play saxophone and haven't learned them yet so I was like,"Who the heck can play this fast!!??"
I can strangely, something is weird with my tongue.
Finally something interesting for baritone!!
Trumpets 😍🤙
Perfect. 🥰
I am on the tuba and it is really fun to play
Euphonium squad, where you be?
I can probably tell you guys right go to school
I go to Pflugerville high school
It has the best baritone part oh I ever seen
Playing this on the trombone was👌
Nice i can agree strongly
lmao our high school marching band had to play this and it was so much better than us (i’m in the middle school advanced band)
Wow nice dude
im playing quads on this song and its hard as hell lol
i played this song at troy band day on 9/23/17
🙏🏽
🙏🏼
everyone in the comments: *plays an instrument*

Me, a horn player: Hi, I'll take a rewrite please.
*le director swaps horn and flute parts*
Yeah I know we're also playing that song for that graduation party which is on the 18th of June
Oh wow we have been playing this way slower than it is meant to go
Drum line where y’all at!!
Oh my God. I need to get in a marching band. Have you seen that horn part? I need to practice that!
I spent 1 hour and I got it pretty good except the 16th note attack.
I'm in marching band bro
Imagine playing that part on trombone or tuba lmao
pov u search up this music because u play the mellophone and no one else has a similar part in the trumpet section
And now a minute of silence...
...for the French horns.
ALTO SAXES AND MELLOPHONES ARE NOT GUITARS
Erin Brown actually if you combine the two, put them in harmony, they do.
she means they aren't meant to be guitars
I do believe that altos are in fact guitars
I AGREE!!!!!!!
I agree!!
Where are my clarinets at
Turtle Powers. I'm a clarinet!!!!! #ClarinetLife4Ever
Irrelevant
🙋🙋
Right here
Quarter note gang
0:18
all trumpet players start passing out on the field the moment this ends
What is that tuba range?! I rarely even go past high A and this song is going to the moon with its range!
If you are talking about the beginning it says in small print (-tuba, eletric bass). So in the beginning it's bari sax playing the "Tuba" line
We are playing this in a concert uwu
plaing this in school
hardest mello part I’ve ever played lol we’re not guitars
Whats that in the trombone part near the beginning? OH! So that's what it looks like to have the melody?! I never knew
This actually is the right tempo for once
Hot ham, horn actually gets cues for the Tbone melody?
Same pieces of us
Snare intense
It's great playing the same thing for half the some then play the same note for the rest then go back to the first part (baritone)
I’m glad I quit playing French horn and moved to trumpets XD
vc tem o arranjo de In the stoney
Go flutes
Flute Squad!
Des isch a saugutes Video. Reschpekt 😂😂
French horn on this
I did a musical on this song
Quad part is insane, at least by Hal Leonard standards. You actually have to practice it
We are doing this for marching band this year, I’m a quad. The parts actually not to bad, once you get most of it down it’s easy. It only took probably like 3 days to learn it.
@@noahfusek1499 still an easy part, don't get me wrong, but at least it's not terribly boring like most of these stock tenor parts
2:26
3:12
Meanwhile I'm over here in a 7th grade band and we didn't even learn 16th notes yet, I mean I'm going to 7th this fall
My favorite part about this version is at 1:36(Like this comment if you agree)
I’ play Euphorium
Ouch my eyes
Trombones are behind in the morning
I play flute
Who plays melophone or flute
Does anybody know what key this is in
B flat
tuba part is easy ;)
SpercRBLX _ true dat
I got no breath after on clarinet
What’s up with those high tuba notes????
In the beginning it say "Bari sax" above the tuba's part
Who plays baritone
Trombone
yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah this Isn't the best arrangement ever
Why are people acting so weirded out? They are just 16th notes. The trumpet parts are far from high in range. Are those complaining Jr High players? This is a simple song for HS.
Flutes part offended me
Why is the Tuba part so high in the beginning of the song?
thats what im sayin
That's Bari Sax part.
It says 'Bari Sax'
Crazy!!
Clarinets be louder
if the beginning isn't played by a piano, it feels fake XD but besides that it seems cool
Those Tuba notes are to high
If you're talking about the beginning, it says bari sax right above it.
Trumpet 1 there is a better one arranged by Paul Murtha
Clarinet part sucks but the arrangement is cool
