    many years ago when i played, the guides had the default LCD soundsystem music and were made in moviemaker. its so cool to me that Gunz has persisted to the point in time where high quality guides like this are made about it. Thanks for the video

    Butterfly, Double Butterfly, Triple Butterfly, Turtle Style, Dragon Style, Tiger Style, God Style (Monk), Slash Shot, Half Step, Half Half Step, Flash Step, Double Flash Step, Forbidden Step, Reload Half Half Slash Shot Butterfly etc.. This was literally the only game in history that you would legit practice your techniques. It was 100% skill based and was the most intense pvp game that has ever dropped. My hands will NEVER forget. The muscle memory is engrained. I could play this game again right now after more then a decade and start doing K-Style immediately. You would go into a private match and just practice techniques for hours. Then show off to your friends your ability to never have your feet touch the ground. This all came out around the time The Matrix came out, so you can imagine how popular Gunkata was at the time.

    • @Assassunn
      @Assassunn 10 месяцев назад +2

      I use M4 for sword and right click for reload, wheels for shotguns and people think I'm crazy but I truly believe this is the easiest keybinds because it is logic and comfortable to use, just have to trigger the 4 fingers for almost all moves in an order but almost at same time, the fingers don't have to move, people using M5 for weapon or sword are crazy

    • @Frekeyy
      @Frekeyy 10 месяцев назад

    • @Assassunn
      @Assassunn 10 месяцев назад

      @@Frekeyy now you build up your muscle memory but it's intriguing why people want absolutely block ok right click when there's a finger that is only used for shift and doesn't incapacitate neither WSQD dashes nor double butterfly execution

    • @Frekeyy
      @Frekeyy 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@Assassunn right click block just feels good, most people dont have as much dexterity in their pinky making it feel a bit more awkward to just tap block with it, i instead have flip on it for block rush and whatnot (could also bind something on ctrl still) im not saying my bind are better or worse, its just personal preference after all. overall they are pretty similar to yours aswell. (also what is WSQD ?)

    • @Assassunn
      @Assassunn 10 месяцев назад

      @@Frekeyy WASD I meant the movements keys. Yes right click for block if def comfortable but you make a good point about pinky and morphology maybe it depends of the hand size, I'm lucky my pinky is by default resting in shift key then!

    I remember 16 years ago practicing 3 hours alone on the city map everyday just doing these moves that i seen from players do and getting it done consistently was very satisfying. Sometimes i launch GunZ and all my muscular memory is still there and can still do anything is great. I feel bad for people that like gameplay games that couldn't experience this game, if it was released today it would be a banger, 100 player lobbies with a ton of different maps and pve is such a great design

  • @canadianbaka
    @canadianbaka 10 месяцев назад +1

    Great guide. I love your presentation style with the background music and clean simple overlays.
    I did notice there was no mention of dashbreak, perfect blink, quickblock variant demonstations like qb fbs or even qbldrhs. Also there isnt much melee depth which i know in the current meta isnt as focused on but some things from the glad world are so so useful in certain scenarios/maps.
    Also qb blink, blinking out of blockrush/launch. Another minor point is that dhs and fbs can be done with gundashes its just slow and not super useful. So technically ld isnt a prereq but i understand keeping things straightforward for learners.
    Was surprised to see the velostop stuff as thats fairly new! Kudos! To really show how janky it can look perhaps combo it fast. Vsldrhs when chained looks wild as does adding a blink after.
    stutterstep wasnt mentioend which is just dash slash block which effectively looks like a jankier blockrush. Can also be blinked outof and added to the end of any grounded move with sword out.
    calling it tripleflashstep to me feels like there should be 3 slashes (and switches to weps) but thats minor. Weve always said dfs.
    The concept of angling dashes to map creep as opposed to just side to side or even conforming movement to map specific combat points etc. Im sure all considerations for future vids.
    All in all fantastic stuff,
    Cheers!

    waitwaitwaitwait, a perfect flash step is kinda like blink.
    jump
    dash
    attack
    switch gun
    switch sword
    dash at top of height although you have to time the flash step to end at the arch of the jump.
    that will allow to dash freely.

    • @TwilightCage
      @TwilightCage 2 месяца назад

      or perhaps it also works by instantly flash stepping at the top of the height.
      dash

      flashstep at top height at the exact frame it ends
      dashdashdashdashdash while in air
      I think you get the idea, I am rusty.

    Is there a specific timing for buffering jumps? It's possible my keyboard is just tired at this and I have a new one inbound but I'm having alot of inconsistency with chaining ground based moves together.
    Specifically chaining butterfly, slash shots, flash steps etc. Sometimes while doing them side to side or forward-backward it just won't buffer the next jump and I just hit the ground and stop. I might get 10 full slash shots perfectly chained together and then the next time I just can't do more than 1. If I perform these moves in the air such as on stairway I can chain them together virtually infinitely and with much greater speed. Even tried streaming my inputs and having a friend watch when I'm pressing "spacebar". Pressing it after the dash or after the slash doesn't seem to make a difference so I'm really confused.

      @@slippz0 yeah, currently there is no way to bind dashing to a single input... Some people might bind forward to two buttons (like W and Q) and that could maybe make dashing easier, though I've never tried it.

    Could there be any potential problems down the line if i get used to holding down the shoot button WHERE IT'S POSSIBLE to ensure i always get the perfect timing on the input?
    For example, on the half step, when slashing, holding down the shoot button while changing weapons to ensure the shotgun fires on the earliest possible frame, and then releasing it to be able to slash again after dashing. Would this be a bad habit?

    • @GunZAcademy

      I think it comes down to personal preference! Holding click for moves that slash->gun->shoot or even shoot->other gun->shoot makes perfect sense to me =]

    • @GunZAcademy

      It might sound oversimplified, but being able to 'top speed' reload shot. Getting out two shots from nearly every move will increase your DPS a lot (assuming you hit, haha.) A lot of new players will get obsessed with using moves when walking + RSing would've been optimal in a given situation (flanking and the enemy hasn't seen you yet, for example.) Next would be traversing the map well/fluidly (not exactly a move, but something worth practicing)
      Thanks for the love, I love this game to and want to help it grow

      @@GunZAcademy I support you very much i try teach new players too. I have a problem with my aim. I dont know but tell me if im wrong: so when for example u dash right(lets say this can be every direction) and u are far away from target doo u aint below them and a bit to left or what. This principle can be used in other directions, but from my testing and analyzing i cant tell if my theory is right. Fun fact: u probably know the item Deadly katana or libel katana, the pull animation combined and chained with flash step is yummi iykyk :D. Thank you for your patience

    • @GunZAcademy
      @GunZAcademy  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Ukyy75 So, when aiming I generally try to "lead" my target a tiny bit, not because I think this is where one SHOULD aim, but to compensate for my own 'brain lag'. In a perfect world, I try to aim right at someone's belly. Now, there is some nuance about how your bullets travel, because they actually DO move from your gun barrel to the center of the screen, so sometimes a point blank shot can be strong even if you aren't aiming directly at them, because the bullets travelled through their body. Not sure if I'm being clear. But, generally, try to aim 'center of mass' and maybe lead a tiny bit in front of them.

    Why isnt there a way to bind dash to a key like control instead of double tapping. I have read the thread about it but it seems to come down to you have to go through the same pain we went through. Unless I am missing something this would just make it a lot easier to get into the game and learn k style as its a way more up to date control scheme and one many are probably familair with.

    • @Penwhiil
      @Penwhiil 10 месяцев назад

      think about it tho... do you really want to have another key you have to press to dash, when you already have so many other keys to input?
      if so... what key are you going to bind your dash to?

    • @AraigumaNoKami
      @AraigumaNoKami 10 месяцев назад

      Well asuming you bind alternate fire to shift and block to right click control is free. I dont see the downside of adding an option which might make the learning curve a bit better. It would make dashing easier as pressing 2 buttons with 2 different fingers can be done far faster than 1 twice with the same hand.

    • @Penwhiil
