update? ive just started yesterday and finally got slash shots down but now im hella unmotivated knowing that there are way harder things i have to learn howd you deal with the learning curve and the hand pain (i have really bad hand pain after 30 mins of playing)
Is there a specific timing for buffering jumps? It's possible my keyboard is just tired at this and I have a new one inbound but I'm having alot of inconsistency with chaining ground based moves together. Specifically chaining butterfly, slash shots, flash steps etc. Sometimes while doing them side to side or forward-backward it just won't buffer the next jump and I just hit the ground and stop. I might get 10 full slash shots perfectly chained together and then the next time I just can't do more than 1. If I perform these moves in the air such as on stairway I can chain them together virtually infinitely and with much greater speed. Even tried streaming my inputs and having a friend watch when I'm pressing "spacebar". Pressing it after the dash or after the slash doesn't seem to make a difference so I'm really confused.
We mention it briefly, under half step, since the inputs are the same but with different timing 😉 We tried to trim down the video where we could and it still ended up being this long, haha
i downloaded it yesterday and all i can say is i watched both of your guides and its very easy to translate to the game can you rebind dash tho or is it stuck on double tap?
@@slippz0 yeah, currently there is no way to bind dashing to a single input... Some people might bind forward to two buttons (like W and Q) and that could maybe make dashing easier, though I've never tried it.
Could there be any potential problems down the line if i get used to holding down the shoot button WHERE IT'S POSSIBLE to ensure i always get the perfect timing on the input? For example, on the half step, when slashing, holding down the shoot button while changing weapons to ensure the shotgun fires on the earliest possible frame, and then releasing it to be able to slash again after dashing. Would this be a bad habit?
I think it comes down to personal preference! Holding click for moves that slash->gun->shoot or even shoot->other gun->shoot makes perfect sense to me =]
@GunZAcademy bro idk, im like 1 month new and know like the things till LD HS and can chain pretty well :D and wanna ask whats in your opinion the best k-style move for fighting😅.I love the game and your guide keeping up the games and the newbies❤
It might sound oversimplified, but being able to 'top speed' reload shot. Getting out two shots from nearly every move will increase your DPS a lot (assuming you hit, haha.) A lot of new players will get obsessed with using moves when walking + RSing would've been optimal in a given situation (flanking and the enemy hasn't seen you yet, for example.) Next would be traversing the map well/fluidly (not exactly a move, but something worth practicing) Thanks for the love, I love this game to and want to help it grow
@@GunZAcademy I support you very much i try teach new players too. I have a problem with my aim. I dont know but tell me if im wrong: so when for example u dash right(lets say this can be every direction) and u are far away from target doo u aint below them and a bit to left or what. This principle can be used in other directions, but from my testing and analyzing i cant tell if my theory is right. Fun fact: u probably know the item Deadly katana or libel katana, the pull animation combined and chained with flash step is yummi iykyk :D. Thank you for your patience
@@Ukyy75 So, when aiming I generally try to "lead" my target a tiny bit, not because I think this is where one SHOULD aim, but to compensate for my own 'brain lag'. In a perfect world, I try to aim right at someone's belly. Now, there is some nuance about how your bullets travel, because they actually DO move from your gun barrel to the center of the screen, so sometimes a point blank shot can be strong even if you aren't aiming directly at them, because the bullets travelled through their body. Not sure if I'm being clear. But, generally, try to aim 'center of mass' and maybe lead a tiny bit in front of them.
Why isnt there a way to bind dash to a key like control instead of double tapping. I have read the thread about it but it seems to come down to you have to go through the same pain we went through. Unless I am missing something this would just make it a lot easier to get into the game and learn k style as its a way more up to date control scheme and one many are probably familair with.
think about it tho... do you really want to have another key you have to press to dash, when you already have so many other keys to input? if so... what key are you going to bind your dash to?
Well asuming you bind alternate fire to shift and block to right click control is free. I dont see the downside of adding an option which might make the learning curve a bit better. It would make dashing easier as pressing 2 buttons with 2 different fingers can be done far faster than 1 twice with the same hand.
omg the game is so fun but god damn it takes fast hands the beginner steps are going to take me like a week to get down and get used to moving my hands alot more
It's really tough to LD without sword bound to a mouse key of some kind... I have my sword bound to both Q and M5, using M5 for LD tech and Q for things like flash step. (A lot of people also put sword on scroll wheel)
@@notlacF 99% of these moves have real applications 🤠 that said, you can get really far without knowing a lot of them, especially in 4v4 (very few people GDHS regularly in a team game, but it's quite powerful in a straight up 1v1.) I'd say the moves to really focus on are reload shot, double butterfly, reload slash shot, reload half step, and all variants of flash step. Those moves plus a good understanding of wallclimbs/wall runs will let you compete.
We have a video coming up about keybinds 😄 but all three people behind this video actually use different keybinds. I will tell you what I (bonedamage) use: Sword = q or mb5 Reload = m4 or mid mouse button Gun 1 = scroll down Gun 2 = scroll up Default everything else!

Getting out two shots from nearly every move will increase your DPS a lot (assuming you hit, haha.) A lot of new players will get obsessed with using moves when walking + RSing would've been optimal in a given situation (flanking and the enemy hasn't seen you yet, for example.) Next would be traversing the map well/fluidly (not exactly a move, but something worth practicing)
Thanks for the love, I love this game to and want to help it grow
@@GunZAcademy okey i understand. One good example of your saying is when you jump and aim bellow them the bullets will hit anyway. Thank you!
It would make dashing easier as pressing 2 buttons with 2 different fingers can be done far faster than 1 twice with the same hand.
im not saying it's a bad idea! but i personally think that having to stretch your fingers out to tap another key is going to be a bad time
What are your keyboard binds?
@@kiddtee9226 we have a video going over this 😃 it has the keybinds that all of us at GunZ academy use, as well as a few other notable players
do you have any effective configuration, I use the original configuration but I find it difficult to do so.
@@ETNCCH our newest video is all about key settings! 😀
goood video
omg the game is so fun but god damn it takes fast hands the beginner steps are going to take me like a week to get down and get used to moving my hands alot more
how do you guys do it so quickly, I can never do more than one shoot per jump
Tons of practice!! And getting shoot->reload->pull out next gun (reload shot) timing down is definitely tricky but worth it.
What’s your key binds
do you think i should change my sword keybind to do late dash i currently use Q
It's really tough to LD without sword bound to a mouse key of some kind... I have my sword bound to both Q and M5, using M5 for LD tech and Q for things like flash step. (A lot of people also put sword on scroll wheel)
are all these moves practical for actual gameplay or are some just to show off your apm?
@@notlacF 99% of these moves have real applications 🤠 that said, you can get really far without knowing a lot of them, especially in 4v4 (very few people GDHS regularly in a team game, but it's quite powerful in a straight up 1v1.)
I'd say the moves to really focus on are reload shot, double butterfly, reload slash shot, reload half step, and all variants of flash step. Those moves plus a good understanding of wallclimbs/wall runs will let you compete.
@@GunZAcademy alright cool thanks for the quick reply
What map it is?? rlly apreciated
This is a map called "Superflip", some servers only have it available as a skill map!
I never could do Kstyle. So I camped with daggers and explosives. You could win a match doing so.
do u have to double tap to dash or is there a way to change it?
@@6sightx yeah, double tap is necessary, no way to rebind... It's one of the things that makes GunZ tough on the hand
@@GunZAcademyoh alr ty. i feel like my fingers arent fast enough to do anythn crazy
savin this for when that steam version drops lol.
awesome, we'll definitely be on there, too!
bro, i like th evideo and everything, but what keys are you using
We have a video coming up about keybinds 😄 but all three people behind this video actually use different keybinds. I will tell you what I (bonedamage) use:
Sword = q or mb5
Reload = m4 or mid mouse button
Gun 1 = scroll down
Gun 2 = scroll up
Default everything else!
what server(s) do you play on?
freestyle GunZ (fgunz) and FxP GunZ, mostly!
