Just been fit for some i210s, initially thought i was going to go for the G410s due to them being a bit more forgiving, however after hitting them i can honestly agree with you 100%, the feel and the sound of the 410s put me off. I was getting some OK numbers so don't dispute it's an awesome club, however, i was getting fantastic numbers with the i210, i didn't see enough distance loss to worry and the feel and sound along with teh smaller profile just sold them to me in an instant. PXGs look great, they are pricey though and knowing you have these in the bag it's very honest of you to make that statement. Fair play

Great film Andy! That course looks stunning! I have i210’s and think they’re the star of the Ping range! For me they performed better during fitting than i500’s and have improved my game no end! NOT a fan of the G410 but they have their market! Haven’t seen the PXG but would be curious to try them!

Have to admit I was very surprised at the selection of the two Pings to go up against the PXG, particularly, as you acknowledge in the video, you couldn't stand the G410 in your earlier tests in Tenerife. I would have expected the JPX 919 hot metal to be part of any test like this, and even perhaps, given one of your recent videos, the Callaway Big Berthas.
I played and loved Pings. But the feel from my 0211’s is different. Had i not gotten the veterans price I’d be playing Pings but the PXG Heroes pricing made them competitive and comparable, price wise.
In the US PXG offers special pricing for military and first responders. I got 0211 5-GW plus a gen 1 bat attack for less than I paid for my P790 5-w. So for that price is not a thing

I have just placed an order for i210s to replace my M1s. I tested the i210s against the 919 Forged and I found it difficult to separate the feel of the forged versus the cast (I also tested the p760 which I disliked as being too hard & harsh, whereas the p790s were very nice but went too far). For us average golfers the issue of spin and stopping power is interesting. I have never had much problem stopping a ball with my M1 6i, yet according to the fitter I was struggling to get 4000 rpm with it (the i210 was 1000+ rpm more and only 1.5 degrees weaker) and therefore would not get much control. Without any science behind it my suspicion is that provided the strong lofted irons can get enough height in the ball flight and therefore make the ball come down steeply, the level of spin needed to stop on a green is much lower than the pros & fitters think. Of course if you play links courses with hard summer greens it will be a bit different!
They would be my choice from what you tested. A really solid iron that ticks all the boxes. You know my thoughts on the spin issue and agrre that 'stopping power' has more ingredients than the spin rpm and as yiu say descent angle is a major player. As for links courses I believe that no matter what spin you produce it will always be an issue on a hard links green in the height of Summer. Good luck with your new irons and enjoy

As a Vet the PXG come in at 105 a club, ping i210 comes in at 125 a club. I've never hit either though, but the wife says I'm getting a full bag fitting for Xmas so we'll see what comes of it.
Andy, I have seen every video you have made and this one is top 3. Your remarks concerning the reviewed clubs are spot on! I have owned every G series club and yes the 410 is long... but the sound and fell is dreadful!!! I do not own PXG but have hit them and they are sweet. However, a fairer test would be PXG vs Mizuno JPX 919... think the mizuno comes out on top for most golfers... at least it did for me... I love them!
Great shooting Andy. I tested the 410 and didn't like them, the 210 looks great to my eye and I didn't see any great drop off in distance but was more accurate with them. Haven't tried any PXG bats but I'm sure they're good.
Coming from TM M1 irons, I got fit for I210's and I love them. I tried the pxg's, the HM pros and the i500's. I strong lofted the I210's and the performance/distance between the sets became negligable. I ended up choosing the i210's because the i500 was too harsh, the other 3 sets the feel on a flushed shot was entirely comparable, the mishits felt worse with the i210s, but the performance was the least affected. My miss is usually low (1st groove) on the clubface, but with the 210's my actual distance loss is minimal. the ball flight is lower, it has a little more run out, but no real distance loss. The others I lost a half to whole club in distance. Put that together with price, customer service etc... Ping got my money.
As you mentioned on your video, you chose the PXG 0211 to go in your bag. Please share the main reason why you picked the 0211 over the 0311? Thank you.
Ping definitely marketed the i500’s as forged but that doesn’t change the fact that the 0211 and i500 are the exact same construction other than the 0211 head being filled. That’s why I believe it would have been a far better comparison than the g410 and i210.

I grew up playing Pings. Ping Eye2, Ping Zings (both in beryllium copper). I've had single digit handicaps and have never looked at "Cast" clubs as inferior. Different feel, yes. Inferior, no. I have also played high-end forged from Mizuno, Callaway, TaylorMade and Titleist. Loved them all but I am a tad older now and need clubs that don't require the practice time or muscles. i have a smooth swing and hit the ball in the center a majority of the time. In your opinion, what makes the 0211's superior?
If you were paying attention you'd know Andy is judging the clubs on performance, feel and sound and PXG ticks all three boxes. He's not "pushing" anything he's giving his honest opinion. Whether or not the price is an issue is up to the individual consumer but an honest reviewer looks at the product independent of price.

linski561 if you get a chance to hit them you’ll see what Andy recommended them. My course had a demo day and I hit them......they’re honestly the best feeling cast iron I’ve ever hit. I qualify for the heroes program and can get for around same price as other cast irons on the market right now.

The black Wilson 300s are sexy. When I get a fitting I most certainly want to hit the Wilson to see if they fit my game. On the other side of the coin, PXG gives us Vets a huge discount making them only 105 a club, and you get a free driver.

PXG is $105 USD for us Vets. Makes it hard to pass them up unless the fitting goes horribly wrong.
Mine were $95 through Heroes Program. Well pleased.

I think the idea was based around the history behind Ping as being the leader in cast clubs. But yes agreed more options to compare

The thing that annoyed me most though is PXG the king of cast. Since when Karston Solheim started the Ping brand 60 years ago they have dedicated their model to cast clubs for the average golfer. Now the Godaddy brand PXG release one set and they are the king of cast? What a tit. It's one set of irons and he didn't even compare them to the correct parallel model which would be i500.

Ive been doing this long enough to realise viewers want to hear what they want to hear, honesty is a phrase that is used when it suits!! Its a lot easier to say on camera what will gain approval but I prefer to stick to my own beliefs and not just say whats 'popular'

Very very disappointed. The last few videos have been about PXG. You are trying to sound unbiased but it's clear you are sponsored by PXG. Also the average golfer has got too glitzy. Get back to basics without the swing clips, soundtrack and backdrop. You are an average golfer and as such your swing is not pretty to watch so no need to glamorise it. I'm off 7 and wouldn't want mine in slowmo either by the way. Just saying don't sell out or get to flash is all. We need an average Joe not another RUclips star wannabe. Im also disappointed in the comments, few facts, 'sponsor' is Seed golf which I informed you of in previous videos, apologies if I am an admirer of a product in PXG but no sponsor is that difficult to accept? It always interests me that people are quick to use the phrase 'sell out' , never sure what that means exactly? I got the chance to film this at an incredible golf course, are you suggesting decline the offer? is this selling out?
As for the video content, Ive spent 2 years trying to make better quality content, not to glamorise my swing as you put it but to make something of a higher standard and when I compare this to my early vids I am proud of the improvement but if you want poor quality edit theres plenty out there for you.
