Lee Anderton wants to know your location
Jimi Meine yep same as Andertons.
I lost it at
Rob: Is that ash?
Andy: No that's Ben
Rob:...
Rob: Is that ashwood on the body?
Why thank you! :)
Nooooo this is Patrick
That Tele is absolutely gorgeous, personally would have chosen that without question. LPJ still sounding great though
Rob when he tryes to start a car at the winter : GRRRRR GRR GRRR GR GR GRRR GRRRRR GRRREATINGS !!!...
You know what, Zelislav? this was fucking brilliant. Well fucking done 👏🏻
And the engine has a copious amount of gain added.
suppose you could say that car had been... overdriven.
@@yallevereatenbeans2723 brilliant
Omg so funny
The Marshall JVM with Tele and Les Paul is heaven forever.
you two need to do more videos together, y'all work well together!
I think that marshall amp is the real winner here
You've kept your figure pretty well for just having a baby. Good for you, Rob
Briansgate this comment just murdered me
"Is this ash"..."no that's ben." Proper cracked me up
Best co-host i've seen in forever. More of him plz.
If you don't know him, he has his own RUclips channel. The guitar geek
Here I am! :D
Andy is a great presenter, seen him do lots of Thomann stuff, very funny guy
TheGuitarGeek well played sir.
Only you know what you want. Every serious guitar player/collector needs a Les Paul Junior with a P 90 pickup. If you shop around you can still find some decent prices on the 50’s models compared to spending over $3,000.00 for a new Custom Shop model, you just got to be able to search like crazy and have the cash when one shows up. The Junior has it’s own sound and plays so good but you need to find an old one, the same deal goes for mostly all Strats, Les Pauls, and Tele’s, there is something extra special about vintage if you find the right one.
Rob, we have TOO much fun. Come back to Germany - there are Glutenfrei Lebkuchen waiting for you!
//Andy
That line about carrying the canoes killed me...
Chloe needs a guitar. She'll be jealous of Theo’s PRS.
Rob you nearly made me cry man. So sweet you sold your stuff for the family.
This video just reminded me over and over again that I need a JVM in my life. Congrats on your daughter!
So he sold some expensive guitars to buy a car, and now he's replacing them with even more expensive guitars! That's the way to placate the wife!!
As much as I love that Les Paul Junior, that blueburst Strat in the background with the black pickguard and reverse headstock looks so freaking cool
Also congratulations on your new daughter, Rob, I’m really happy for you
yup that blueburst strat caught my attention too...
I gotta say, I'd spring for the Telecaster (Not a huge fan of pre-relic-ed guitars, prefer to do it myself), but I prefer lighter strings and a tighter action, which by Rob's description, that glorious piece of art would work *really* well with it.
It’s all about the Tele as far as I am concerned.
Congrats on your baby girl !!!!! I’m raising a little girl as single dad so it’s an awesome blessing.
@Adonis Vouvali yes it is bro
Andy is hilarious...the wettest of all the dry humor!
🙃
There's nothing better than a good telecaster. I feel like that thing was made for you.
Congrats to you, Rob and yours for the new baby. Best wishes.
I was literally picking my nose when he say "stop that" and I had just continued when he said it again.
literally🤔
@@kevinsingh811 yes? Certainly not figuratively.
y not just say _I was picking my nose when .._ ?
@@kevinsingh811 it's just a way of emphasis I guess. It's not that weird to say literally in this sense. I know where you're coming from because there is an ungoing frustration about people using the word literally in the wrong context but that's usually because of people using it instead of figuratively. Example: "I'm literally dying because of that joke".
how about _I was actually picking my nose_
There should have been a "forbidden riff" moment to add to the "new customer" illusion.
That's exactly what I was thinking then I heard him playing something that sounded like Blurple Haze.
Some serious chemistry going on here?! Looking forward to seeing more of this blooming bromance in the very near future! Nocaster full stop
Let me guess the next video: “Look what Thomann sent me!”
Some great rock sounds here. Rob is always good of course, but whoever is responsible for the sound of this vid did an amazing job.
And Now for Something Completely Different- guitar version. Hilarious! Andy is an incredible co-host. More of him please!
I just bought a Fender custom shop 51 Tele, it’s the best Tele I have ever played. It’s awesome!
Note to self: don’t start guitar company if for money.
kungstu22 yeah well trust me... selling his guitars was NOT a last resort haha.. it was a choice. He has money. Feel free to start your guitar brand anytime now haha
@@coffeewaldo dang!I liked the prices before they upgraded the wood along with the prices!would rather buy used Prestige guitar than any of the new Chappers!
@@bernhardtsen74 theyre cool guitars. Unfortunately he's the worst person to sell them. he plays muddy as hell (thats the sound he Likes.. its the tone he adjusts to). He is an amazing guitarist but when youre buying a guitar you want to hear it played cleanly to see what it can do .
bernhardtsen74 prestige guitars look good for the money.
@@Utube-g3g the playability is almost unmatched!hammer ons and pull offs are fun on those guitars!
Congratulations on your Baby, Rob!
When I started playing, I bought a terrible Les Paul copy. It was so bad that the neck was irreparable after 6 months.
All I had was $139 for a new guitar and (not knowing anything) I bought a '97 Epiphone Les Paul junior.
I knew nothing of p90's, but damn, that sound was perfect.
And now that I know more about guitars, I am constantly reminded that my uneducated instincts were so on the money back then.
For the longest time, the only two guitars I played were my rickenbacker and that epi junior. And I loved them both equally
You two work so well together.
The Gibson is pretty, but that Tele screamed "buy me". No matter which way you slice it you're gonna be pleased, but the Tele is a lot more customized and unique so if you like that specific guitar you gotta roll with it...You might not find another relic-ed Tele that speaks to you the same way.
These two are surprisingly good together. I want that Tele.
thank you... !
@@TheGuitarGeek You're very welcome. I still want that Tele.
Brilliant video. What a hell of a store. Strat all day.
All three are great choices. Personally I’d go with the strat . Then the Les Paul Jr and Nocaster are a tie . I’d like to mention though that I was hugely impressed with that Marshall amp . All three guitars sounded superb through it . Due to budget concerns unfortunately none of those guitars are in my reach .
But what about the amp?
It doesn't matter to me you made all 3 sound great I think you made a valid point about the no-caster you already know where you are going to have problems. The Strat sounded good but the price may not be a problem for you but if you didn't feel it its not the one. The Jr is simple but it is in your wheelhouse and if that is the one you like that is the one. Its a Gibson LP....if I was picking for me and I could go to that area of the guitar shop I would pick the no-caster but thats me and what "I try to play".
I think it's the Gibson Les Paul Junior. It sounds great - fat and strong as I like it. The Fenders sounded great but a bit thin for my taste. Looked like a lot of fun on the Gibson too. Great comparison!
It's good to see Rob playing Marshall again.
"Brandwashed" ... wow, nice improv Andy.
Just bought a Harley Benton TB-70VS Deluxe Series and I love it.
I just got an old strat style guitar and bought a blackstar fly 3 amp to play a bit at home. But first i swapped the strings to new regular slinkies (10-46). Before i played on my moms old acoustic, so i turned and snapped the highest string right away since i was used to get a bit of force on those strings so they swing nicely.... probably a total beginners mistake. But luckily the music store is just next to my workplace...
You can buy now. 2 classic vibes and an Epiphone. 10th of the price and still the holy trinity.
Congratulations on the new bundle of joy Rob! Although I must say Faris could pass off as your son honestly haha. Awesome work
RC32 I’ve seen your comments on so many videos
@@calebo29536 That's very true
Congratulations to yourself and the missus Rob. Happy families time!
Whaaaa congrats on your baby girl, i hope shes healthy!!!!
I loved what you played on the white Tele/Nocaster at the end of the video...
I play the catalyst riff all the time so I can not blame Rob for playing it in so many videos
Congratulations again Rob! I hope y'all are happy and healthy. ❤️
congratulations Mr. Chapman on the little one
Ahhhh the green Tone King Imperial is exacly the amp i buy a couple of month later, because they had another one in the Custom Shop Room downstairs and i love the Sound but search for a Combo Not a Stack, so Alfred went up with me and Show me the green Tone King... i try him with my new CS 59 and fell in Love... 😍😍😍
That LP Jr was killer. Tone wise I much prefer it.
A left handed Rory Gallagher strat on the wall? I never knew one was ever done southpaw.
Don't have a Strat a Tele nor a Les Paul, do have a heart of solid gold tho Chappers!
That's a fact. Guitars can be re-financed & bought back eventually, baby daughter is priceless & irreplaceable. Peace, respect & too much rock n' roll is grossly insufficient.
Omg that is an insane guitar shop 😵 it looks like a rich person’s house!
Andy is absolutely hilarious.
Hate it when the Swedish volleyball team call me at work. NO COLD CALLS! Can't take it anymore.
"you can't drive your kids to school on a les paul." maybe not but you could give it a red-hot try.
congratulations to you and the missus, Rob.
You Guys Always Always Have That Professional Comedy That Works Well And The Demos Are Entertaining 👍👍🎶🎶🎸Keep Bringin It
My eyes are being drawn to the strat with the tortoise pick guard.
There's something about a Les Paul with P90 (s) that is just undeniably fun. I have an Epiphone 1955 Les Paul Custom with Gibson P90's and everyone that plays it has a blast, even with the massive neck and extra noise.
That telecaster sounded amazing 👌
The tele destroys all - no question
That's what fathers do, Rob. Give up on some dear stuff to secure the kids. Also, as a self-employed businessman I believe you put every penny into your company like you should. Great to see you're displaying this all too human situation to all of us so that we know inhuman guitar gods tend to have human sides as well ;) Congratulations on the birth of Chloe.
Congratulations Rob on your new born 👏🏻
This was fun, great video guys! We love the Fender Nocaster the best-Saaaa-LUTE!🤘#Fender🎸🔥
I swear I knew you were going to say the LPJ. When you first started playing all I could think was how gritty and nasty it sounded. And it looks amazing, and amazingly simple. I hope you get it Chappers. You deserve it.
Brandwashed.. that's brilliant!! Patent that and open the meme floodgates now... cause it will happen! And he said the bunny-making-area? 😂 so much better than the money-making-area haha
Thomann is the best store ever.
I really want to drive there
You lads are funny .. enjoyed that a lot
The fender Mexican range made a nitro lacquer ash body tele with a maple neck and i believe a rosewood fret board option too. But i think its a good shout to look at
congrats and cheers Rob.
I personally think what he ended up playing on the Tele turned out musically better than what came out when he played the Jr...just saying...
Definitely the Junior! Hi Rob Chapster
Love the strat through the JVM fantastic sound!
I gotta say go with what ya feel Rob. Get the Jr. and if if was my choice I’d buy that tele because it sounded absolutely perfect.
On looks and sound... gotta be the Tele. On feel... only you know (and everyone else who has played it at Thomann).
Rob...so wise to get that Badass Gibson. I always side to Gibson myself.
Came for the guitars, stayed for the new Benny Hill episode.
Tom Petty just appeared before me and said if you don't take that Red Sparkle home today then you won't be allowed into Rock n Roll Heaven.
Congrats on your new baby girl 🙏
Have you ever heard Rob shred on a Rickenbacker? You should, because it is the best he has ever sounded
I think I recall the moment with Rabea that you realized you needed a Tele.
and now that particular tele belongs to ME!
of course he liked the Gibson, it's a shorter scale length so it fits the style he plays perfectly, easier to bend and the pickup can handle higher gains
That Tele and the Les Paul. Can go for the Strat later some other day, with some more money to spare.
I wish i could play lead like rob does on that NoCaster
Congrats on your daughter rob! That tele looked and sounded amazing, you should take her home too
The market definitely needs more Candy Apple Red guitars!
The Tele for sure, but seriously not a custom Shop at xxxx grand. Got a heavy relic 2006 Renault and it sounds as good as this.
jmo Gibson was sweet but I also like that strat. between the two wow would be tuff but I do love the simple look of that jr and that color.
When a Guitar shop turns into a Comedy club...priceless! 😂😂😹🤣😄💀
Rob. Get that LP jr. asap. Not only is it the sound of rock n' roll but those are probably the most musical sounding distorted tones I've ever heard you produce. just wow
That Tele is absolutely gorgeous but the Lespaul suits you best :)
That Custom Shop LP Jr. is $3799. The non CS version is $1499. I was going back an forth and I think for a guitar as simple as a Jr., it's not worth the price difference. Even when you factor in you can probably get the CS for closer to $3200 if you tried, I still can't justify the huge price difference. I'm sure with an hour of setup, the both would play the same.
Non of the above, the LP you pointed out at the beginning but never played is gorgeous!
Rob: I really want a really high end guitar Gibson or Fender.
Me: I really want a Chapman ML1
Nah, all four are good, the last strat for the looks, gibby for the sound, the tele to play every thing in any style and the first strat as a backup.
Dang, my bank disagrees, ah well heavy relic affinity strat modded to hell and back it has to be.......
Gibby it is for you Rob / Andy
Grtz
Out of the three, need to buy a Tele first! Custom Shop relic from the year you prefer, then stick a pair of those Peter Honoré pickups in. Job done!
Of course the Junior!
