“Buying things wont’t make you happy. Spent your money wisely” damm that hit me hard
Which is kinda false. When I buy a new expensive piece of gear it does make me happy... for like 30 seconds which is followed by buyer's remorse... but that first 30 seconds man, worth it.
Buying music items can inspire me to play more which is always worth it.
Hedonic treadmill
Idk man my guitar collection begs to differ.
Save money when possible: Save it for buying the highest quality things that feed your passion, like guitar. You only have one life. For everything else in life, buy the cheaper items that will suffice.
Gonna ask my girfriend casually to buy me a Kemper
Better spend some quality time with her first mind!
Gotta get a girlfriend to ask to get me a Kemper
baerleon who hurt you?
what's a girlfriend?
maybe i should ask the kemper to get a girlfriend (;
I loved the little disclamer note at: 8:33, it shows that Paul thinks about his audience.
Have an amazing holiday y'all
it's a double edged sword but used with actual training... you can take it as if he cares and also as if it's a Karen deterrent.
Inteligente pra caralho né mano
That's credibility.
That's part of marketing in this commercial. He emphasizes that he is not sponsored and that he likes that stuff. In the description you see a whole series of links to Amazon.
*Have a wonderful holiday ladies and gentlemen!*
Volvo 420 you too
You too homie.
Mm...fooooooooooz
You too!!
How did you know people were going on holiday somewhere?!
At first I was thinking "Just turn the amp off before unplugging the guitar", but you do make a good point about switching while on stage. That's way easier than having an amp per guitar.
Also, "It's the holiday season, cut the postman some slack". This is probably the most wholesome thing I've ever heard said about any postal service :)
Most guitars have volume knobs that if you turn down they cut off and I think it fixes that although I never really tested it
Iirc, turning the volume down to 0 on the guitar doesn't stop the amp making noise if you unplug it. Though it does at least stop noises from hitting the strings or bumping stuff :P
Just click your tuner pedal on
coryman125 is that geezer butler ?
@@davidgeorge5863 It is indeed!
Dude, you're so f*cking positive and happy. And the advice that you give, both for guitar/music related stuff or LIFE, is genuinely SO good!!!!!
Thanks dude, I f*cking LOVE YOU, MAN!!!!
AND EVERYONE ELSE READING THIS COMMENT I LOVE YOU, HAVE MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY WHOLE NEW YEAR! =D
Came here to say (roughly) the same thing! Paul, you're a legend. Thank you! Merry New Year and Happy Crimbo etc etc.! ;-)
I agree - lifts me every time I watch one of Paul's videos, both in terms of my understanding and capability but also my spirit. This guy is a gift for sure.
I love you too random commenter
Your sworn enemy is reading this
*Uno Reverse Card* And the same to you, especially THIS (fucking) year.
Much love from Germany my dude.
What a beautiful beard... I mean... video.
My sons have just started learning to play the guitar. Now the gift possibilities are endless for birthdays and Christmas. 😎
one of my favourite channels. clear, crisp description, coupled with killer playing, and enthusiasm. great work man, keep it coming!
Love how you start off with the guitar stand and then leave your Strat leaning against the wall for the remainder of the video. Bonus points for showing your cat wandering around who could knock it over at any time.
Except for the Hercules stand, specially the "stand" part of it, I totally agree with your list. Very good. Thanks.
Idk man... James Jamerson never cleaned his fret board, because he said it would wash off the funk. So I just can't take that risk
Me: Hey mom can I go down to the store to pick up a little gift.
Mom: sure why not
Mom: hands over debit card
Me: comes back with 1959 gibson les paul strolling in through the door
Edit: Wow guys! didnt expect this to blow up thank You!!!
Lol
My mom offered to buy me a guitar, after she learned what I was looking for, she got me some strings. She likes it when I play for her.
@@rodneysmart9774 keep playing for her 🙏 you'll miss it when you won't be able to
So you have chosen death?
@@rodneysmart9774 Ye my mum likes it when I play too but sometimes she gets agitated when I play for hours and hours lmao!
Really loved this video, the list and your positive guitar 🎸 vibes. Lots of great ideas to enhance our accessibility to new tech and great stuff to up our game whether its maintenance or cleaning, etc
3:29 Life saver my friend... guitar IS life
Your CS strat is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen... the color, the flaming on the neck, uhhhhhhh my god it’s gorgeous
"It's a real life-"
*Considers if his guitar is a sentient being *
"It's a real guitar saver"
Thank you for the suggestions man. These would be pretty awesome indeed! Have yourself a great Holidays Paul and everyone
The Hercules stand is by far my best guitar-related purchase in years. I bought the 3-guitar stand, it hold my 2 guitars (with some room to grow) perfectly and this thing is kid-proof, literally! As a dad, I was weary of leaving my guitars out with my kid roaming around, with a couple of very close calls. Not anymore!
Paul, I've learned so much from your channel and boosted my confidence. Have a great holiday and Happy New Year. Thanks for all the work you put into the guitar community.
I could say that guitar pro and transcribe are must have for every guitarist, they can open a whole new world to you
Thank you, Paul for sharing so much really cool information in a short video, your smooth style is unmatched by anyone else on youtube. Its obvious you love music, so thank you and very happy holidays.
I’m guessing other beginners - intermediates like me can relate to feeling intimidated listening to a teacher.... but your style of teaching is fun and I don’t feel dumb! I want to learn the next thing and the next and the next! Thanks soooo much Paul!
PAUL, Thank You for Sharing - You Are A Gift. From All of Us Here Across the Pond. Chicago, Dallas, New York, LA and Miami -
The best part of your wonderful presentations is your kind, welcoming demeanor, thanks and best wishes to you and yours!
Hey Paul, thank you for the videos. You are by far the best RUclipsr I've discovered in 2019. I love guitars (even though I suck at playing them) and your videos are just the right motivation to keep pushing myself into getting better and not be stuck with the old tunes I've been plying for years.
Have a happy Christmas Paul. Thank you for your amazing input. You make the world a better place.
I'm with you Paul, I love little gadgets and stuff
This is a great video to release just before Xmas. The cable alone was worth watching. Thanks for sharing.
That tuner looks awesome as well.
The cable and tuner got me interested
@@victorymansions I agree, I tried to find the tuner for sale online but I have had no luck yet.
@@jackiebelmont5522 I haven't personally tried it but I recommend you check out D'addario's Eclipse tuner. I heard it works great. It's $10 USD, I believe
I’ve had the triple guitar Hercules stand for like ten years now, it is amazing and absolutely worth
Also great things for acoustic guitar IMO:
1. Ergoplay tappert or some similar guitar support for acoustic /classical guitar. Saves your back :)
2. Blackstar Fly Acoustic or some other portable mini amp.
3. Wireless system for guitar. Those things are 🔥🔥🔥
Two words: Strap. Locks. Changed the strings on one of my guitars and cleaned 'er up as best as she's ever looked. Super excited to play. I turned around to adjust my amp settings and the front hole fell off the strap button. Now I have two massive chips where the finish used to be!
The Tonewood Amp is a must-have gadget for acoustic players. It's a game changer for how it reinvigorates the guitar and makes you want to keep playing.
Bought the Klotz cable after seeing your video, and I might say this is by far the best guitar cable I've ever had. It really makes a difference
Merry Christmas Paul. I've really enjoyed discovering your channel this year and am looking forward to seeing your journey in 2020. Thanks for everything!
I love those Hercules stands, really stable and has soft foam on the legs to protect the finish of your guitar.
Paul, thank you for your videos! Happy holidays!
I know that only a very few people hold the same view, but the noise while you plug in a guitar is just ✨iconic✨. For me, it gives the feeling as though the guitar had woken up to life, being dormant before it was plugged in, and gives me that extra first motivation when I start playing.
The only place I see myself using the noiseless cables are when I am swapping guitars on stage, which hasn't happened till now.
Don't get me wrong. I know that the noise annoys a lot of people. And this product would be a game changer for them. I am just stating my point of view and this product is just not for me and also not for the people who think like me.
Paul isn't kidding about that Hercules stand. I copped one a few weeks ago and it's made my life so much better!
Excellent, thanks, happy holidays, such a pro!
Hercules Guitar Stands are the best. I used to work in a famous chain guitar store as guitar department manager and the Hercules stands were the bomb for not hurting the guitars.
Merry Christmas Paul. Thanks for all you do.
Enjoy your videos and tips Paul throughout the year . Hoep you have a great Christmas and NY
"silent" is not the cable, it's the Neutrik plug. But yes, it's priceless.
Straight for the Strat, angled for Tele/LP.
The jack plug is magic... I have a couple of cables with quiet jacks.
Only about $12-15 if you need to replace a jack on an old cable anyway (and can solder). But.... it doesn't work well on active basses and far less common, active guitars. Plugs in silently, but the preamp powering up usually makes a racket that varies with type of preamp but they all have some (usually loud) power up noise.
And acoustic guitars with a piezo/mag/microphone) internal system, (so "active").
My replacement cable for my wireless had a ‘silent’ option, and now I wish that all of my cables had it.
@@teamclarkin4754 Newtrik jack only on eBay. It's NOY at all tricky to solder and (good & easy & effective strain relief). Buy one and sacrafice a cable. New cables with Newtrik start about -$35-40.
NOT
I love the sound of a live jack going into a guitar
Wow I'm early.
Happy holidays, Paul! And all you lovely people too!
Paul Davis you are my hero! I need it all for my channel
Can't wait for my Kemper for Christmas. I asked Santa so he better come through
Germain Alcantar son, I have something to tell you...
You realize Santa is your dad , so ask him. Or ask santas wife
Merry Christmas Paul thank you so much for sharing...
Happy holidays, Paul! Thanks for the great videos. Yes, on the Kemper Stage review!
Great list man! Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year
Thanks for the heads up on Transcribe! I’ve been looking for something like that for a while.
Paul. You are amazing. Thank-you!
:):)
Thanks,Paul. I Enjoy your videos man.Appreciate your time and effort.
I got two Herculeses on my wall. Love them.
Great quality video, man. Cool idea, too! Fun to watch.
Thanks this helps so much, love your content!
All the best for the New Year dude! I've really enjoyed your videos over the past year and I look forward to your future ones. Have a great xmas too!
Love those cables. I need one with an angled jack plug
Thanks, lots of cool toys ideas for the modern guitarist.
Great video! Thank you for the recommendations .
Thanks Paul, I love the guitar stand. Happy New Year.🎶🎸🌞
Thank you for sharing this - it's gonna be handy very soon
My favourite here is Transcribe and Guitar Pro
Klotz titanium cables are legendary, really.
Thank you Paul for sharing this info with us. As always, we appreciate you. Happy holidays. Hope Santa brings you everything you ever wanted! Ho Ho Ho.....
thanks for all the great videos and Merry Christmas to you and yours Paul...
I love that tuner, I got it for Christmas and it has permanently replaced the snark I used to use
Love it how without watching the video i was already writing "11: silence" and when i started it it's the first thing that came up.
Just wanna say, you're the best! Your content is so good and you help us so much. Thanks, Paul. :)
Thank you a lot for Transcribe!
Merry Christmas Paul, love your videos!
Yes to the Kemper review!✌🏼
Great video ! Thanks for all the info.
The video I didn't know I needed but I'm glad I'm watching... Thanks, Paul! :D
I had noiseless plugs in the 80's. Then the disappeared? Happy to see that they are back.
Its so nice to watch These Videos there chill informativ and just really good love the channel
Thanks for ALL your Videos - Paul!!
as an owner of that same hercules stand, i can confirm, its rock solid stable until about 3/4 extended.
I also allways brought a plug, you could just stick on a cut cable.
Sometimes, you have a break in the cable.
It's a good adiea, to bring a spare, but if you didn't , you could just take a scissors,
cut it in half, and stick the plug on, in no time.
Thank you! Great video
I immediately recognized the Live tuner vst/au window in your electric guitar set up tutorial
Your online guitar class would be my dream gift.
I really love your videos
Dude, you’re awesome!!!
Thanks Paul for sharing ! Those are not secrets anymore ;) !! Wonderfull job as always. Have nece holidays too ! Take care !
Inspiring as always and thanks for including the links. Always gain something from your videos :)
I'm not a guitar player or musician but im interested in learning to play guitar, i have to say that your videos are A+. I have even watched part 1 of your music theory one. Huge fan brother 🤙🏼
Man now that I've dug up some of my old non-kill cables I've appreciated my new ones much much more and am gonna buy 2 more of them 🤣
most informative paul thx jonty
Great clip ... Enjoyed it ... Thank you so much for posting it!
Silent Plug blow my mind - ordered it, arrived today, I'm amazed!
Where'd you end up buying it? I'm in the states and can't find it for sale from anyone who will ship to me
@@LPKJFHIS I'm in Germany and ordered it from thomann
Merry Christmas guys x
Great ideas. Your videos are always interesting. Merry XMas.
These are awesome ideas for gifts. I wish I had all of them! (have the Hercules stand already, it's great!)
I used to record directly in thePC, but nowadays I have a looper pedal (DigiTech) which also is great as a plain recording device. After recording you can download the tracks to a laptop, but you can also upload a wav file to record over that. works quite well for me.
This ended up being a helpful video, thanks for this!
Oh my god, Transcribe! Where has this app been all my life? I was googling for something like this a few weeks ago and couldn't find anything good. I've been using Audacity to do some of it, but Transcribe does everything I want, this is amazing!
Past year I asked Santa for a nice pack of 10 jazz III picks (several materials, thickness,...) 😉👍. That changed forever my approach to string attack and giving me new feelings specially while soloing if It is really what I do 😆. Man, this new list looks sooo ambitious. Thanks, very useful.
Hercules stands are great. Can't recommend them enough.
The guitar jacks with the kill button can be used a cheap killswitch as well!
I like how when he said his guitar broke I was thinking, "probably a les paul".
Then I hear, "It happened to my les paul." lol
typical.
