How to remove piston rings...with paperclips!

Although some rings can be lifted over the crown and twisted off without much trouble, thicker rings (like the intermediate ring) can be harder to remove when you don't have a ring removal / installation tool. However, you can still remove tricky rings with a few paperclips using this technique.

Mechanics wire does the same thing. Every single mechanic has run into a situation where they don't have the correct tool, so they improvise!
