Setting the bar high is definitely praiseworthy. On the flipside, 'perfection' can be the enemy of 'good.' Striking a good balance between optimal efficacy and obsessive perfectionism can save us a lot of manhours and burn out.

Harsh truth is Working for 70 hr per week for a company sucks been there done that
If you truly believe nation should succeed then don't block moonlighting ...people will work 40hr/week and then remaining 30hr on themselves this will make country progress

I think what we need in India is: 5 days 9-5 mandatory work hours (depending on company’s work culture if they are flexible), the concept of minimum wage, and people who want to work overtime can work overtime and will be compensated with at least 50% extra pay per hour for putting in the overtime. Let’s do this and see how many of these “entrepreneurs” can sustain their businesses with this model. Many countries have this model. How can you expect productivity out of a person who is mentally and physically bashed by your toxic work culture where mental health is not even talked about. People also need to spend time with family to avoid having a burnout which will mess their brains for life. But I guess people like him don’t care about that.

If we want the startup culture to remain and thrive in India we should support people like Kunal Shah and root for them and learn from them and do something of our own (not necessarily a startup)

    Masterclass Indeed!!!
My 10 Key Learnings from this Conversation:
    1. Craftsmen Mindset.
    2. Don't sell or make anything you can't proudly gift/offer to your Family or Friends.
    3. Creating a Culture of Truth Seeking vs Belief Oriented
    4. Long-term Benefits.
    5. Trust-oriented.
    6. Ask yourself: Did you solve a hard problem recently? Write a journal on the same and be brutally honest.
    7. We are more excited about the end state of someone who is successful but are we ready to learn from their journey?
    8. Learn to connect dots. People who can marry in between different domains can have better Insights.
    9. Be A Feedback Attractor rather than a Feedback Repeller
    10. People who Build Substance /Value don't get offended easily.

Can we just stop and think for a moment? Why did we start working, to afford food, to afford clothing and to afford shelter. Over time many people have forgotten these basic things and have been engulfed by work so much that the only goal in life is to keep working? This is sad.
Using the word Productive to churn out more from an employee is just wrong.
This is just Slavery in a new sugar coated way. If you want the economic growth of the country to be positive then the burden falls on the common Indian. Granted we do all the work towards increasing GDP. What is the guarantee that the money ends up in the right place and not in someone influential guy's account as black money ? To solve a problem restructure what is at the top, not putting the burden on the common man.

Bullshit never give so much to a company, remember if company fails you will be jobless but the CEO will always be rich. Give only required hours to your employer and use the remaining to improve yourself or you will be stuck in the same job for years, there's 0 gain in being loyal to your employer, it's not your company, any extra profit goes to investors and Ceo's pocket.

Truer words have never been said. All these CEOs promoting 70 hrs work weeks just want to line their pockets from all the extra work put in by their employees. The employees themselves will never see a single red dime of it, and all they will be left in the end is a broken relationship with their mental health and little to no social life or family life. What good will such a work culture even do? 14 hrs work days will only serve to decrease productivity, not increase it like these people seem to be thinking.

They want skilled workers to work like labour. Towards the end Kunal contradicts himself. He doesn't like celebration culture and doesn't want teams to celebrate small wins. Then he goes on to say that recognition is a core human trait. Well if you are empathetic enough, you'd know that people crave recognition. The bar can go higher and higher but that doesn't mean that people will work without recognition till they meet your bar of excellence.

The more the employees slog working 12 hours a day, the more incentive the CEOs would have to downsize their employees, leading to an increased unemployment in the nation.
    Or,
The harder the work culture here, the youth would prefer working in the developed nations, increasing the brain drain.
Neither your theory nor my theory is correct. The point i try to make is that: its easy to theorize things as per your convenience in the name of patriotism to impose your propaganda.
