When you explained your term "man turn," i knew i could trust you and your advice. Subbed. My coach always taught me to look inside on man and not away because it brings your body away from the receiver and you can see the ball sooner too from your peripherals instead of taking the time to turn the head and then locate the ball

Should I play catch if I’m going against a big and physical receiver or just stick to off coverage

Can someone explain what man turn is? Is that just mirroring the WR? And turning for the ball when the WR turns?

My guys tend to struggle with WRs getting right up in their faces and stepping on their toes. Once in the DB's frame, the WRs often give a little shake leaving the DB guessing which way he's gonna go causing my DBs to miss their jam. What advice would you give to prevent this from happening? Thanks for the insight

Try mixing it up and doing a surprise catch technique. For me I line up at 4-5 and once the receiver is running at me I would move up closer to surprise him and collision the route while keeping my leverage. You won’t do this all the time but it’s a good switch up

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. :) This definitely is a great change-up. I’m also thinking of giving a little ground by inching back as an alternative (with the catching element still mandatory to it tho)? What do you think of this? I know it counters the purpose of catch man in a sense, but if scouting of an opponent shows that their WRs tend to try to step on the DBs toes when they’re in catch, this could allow the DB to maintain the position up top and enable to get a good read on the WRs hip… any thoughts on that? :)
