      I know who you are. I played at the University of Miami. You came to Syracuse after I graduated but I noticed you afterwards in games when we played y'all. I also saw your NFL career. You were a baller. So this means a lot coming from you. I appreciate it.

    I know this video is old but I’ve been playing db for a while and I still don’t know the answer to this question. How many kicksteps are you suppose to take? Because I seen some DBs take one or two and then open up. And are you gonna suppose to be square to the LOS or the wr? Because I’ve seen DBs do some of both

    in what scenarios would this technique be applied?

    • @GridironStuds
      @GridironStuds  Год назад +1

      It's something you would add to your tool belt as a change up to your hard press technique. In terms of when specifically, you could use it when the defense you are in requires you to stay over the top of the route. So for instance, playing press when you are in quarters coverage. Or playing press man on 2nd or 3rd and long or versus a WR that you know primarily runs deep routes.

      You should be on the balls of your feet for sure. Check out this video I made on back pedaling ruclips.net/video/GrUgVO7SKvU/видео.html

      @@GridironStuds I mean my coach taught me that in man if a receiver goes vertical it's better to trail him in case he does like a deep in, out , comeback this type stuff

    • @PhillyEaglesFanatic
      @PhillyEaglesFanatic Год назад

      @incognitomode7013 That depends on what kind of coverage shell you have behind you. If it's 2 deep zone with man underneath, you can play trail as you have help over the top. However, if you don't have help, it's better to play over the top of the routes so you don't get beat deep
