OK, re surface escort class units, we need 10 x T26, the final two being completed as AAW/anti-missile optimised additions to the 6 x T45s and also having upgraded PAAMS as the principal AA/M system. We ALSO need 10 x T31 GPF, not 5, and to augment the tier1 surface escort fleet yet further we should also significantly upgrade the existing B2 River Class vessels' weapons fit to provide an additional 5 x smaller top end combat/escort units too. Finally, ALL ships of ALL classes must be fully armed and equipped. (NOT left indefinitely as inadequate "FFBNW" paper tigers by our loathsome Metro-establishment Quislings and thus inadequate to defend their own crews!) The result? A surface fleet of 31 genuinely able 'Tier1' escort class units with just an additional 5 x GPF added to existing procurement progs. In truth, it's the bare minimum needed if the RN is to remain a viably significant element of NATO's maritime force.
We haven't got any Type 42's anymore, I think you mean the Type 45, which are undergoing the installation of additional power generators so they can use new systems like Dragonfire. my criticism of this is Grant Shapps, has not been the minister for Defence for the last 3 months since his party was unceremoniously given the boot!
Don’t we think future commando force was originally simply cover for making cuts to the Commando Brigade? Bit like the sophistry of elevating certain supporting units to “Commando” status? Now Russia is our immediate threat some reversing is required. The direction of travel in other navies has been through deck ships carrying significant helicopters. I this whole concept is a cut 3 ships to replace 6: Argus, Albion Class, Bay Class. We actually should be having 2 LPHD similar to the French or Spanish/Australian design capable of Lillipadding F35B and 4 improved Bay Class with hangers. One of the latter could have the modular hospital facilities embarked. Both of the former could have the command facilities. All are going to need air defence capability
Argus is a casualty ship, but not a hospital ship, sounds like the round table class rehashed, think Sir Galahad. It’s up to 6, not 6, remains to see both how many are actually built, and their capacity. Once the bean counters are involved it will be 2 glorified ferry’s. What is going to replace the Argus as a casualty ship? Or its second role as a helicopter training ship? A copy of the French Mistral class would be a good start, even if they have podded drives, something the RN seems to be strongly resisting
To the people claiming it’s not happening 3 type 32 hulls are built and 2 are in the water for fit equipment the hull for 2 more are being built now and steel for the rest and the support ships are being cut right now

Six new ships for the Royal Marines MRS pluss other new ships that's great but there's one big problem where are you going to get the Navy peroneal to man them . At the moment they can not man both Queen Elizabeth type Aircraft carriers .

Unfortunately, British shipbuilding capacity is abysmal, not to mention penny pinching from the treasurey and inability to man new vessels! For example, China can launch 40 warships a year, that's almost the entire RN every year!!!
Ships can be built everywhere and shipbuilding knowledge can be prioriticed again. A new age has arrived with much bigger defence budgets so it is natural that the ship building industry will increase again.
This is what happens, if it happens, when you have a character like Grant Shapps in charge. He absolutely could not demonstrate the nation has the money to pay for these valuable ships. He was simply writing cheques we, the tax payer, cannot cash. This is what you get with a decade and a half of woeful under investment.
The info used for this video is just as bad as the AI voice overs. The ship numbers are wrong the Minister for Defence is wrong. There is no viewer value to these videos if zero effort is made in production.

Will they be tied up waiting for maintenance like 67% of the type 42s?

The U.K. Still had one of the strongest economy's in the world, so we can afford it, but is this really what we need?

So they decommission amphibious ship, then plan to build new ones wgat happens if needed beforehand?
I seriously doubt if these orders will be allowed to go through with Labour now in 10 Drowing Street

why not just build 3 Frgates as the danish Absolon class and then 3 more expensive and bigger ships
