Met I guy when I was deployed that was **most likely** a CIA paramilitary operator. I’m a doctor. He came in to FOB on a bird to get checked, saying he was having some palpitations and chest pain. Longer curly hair, ripstopnnylon pants, hiking boots, plate carrier with a call sign and no other markings. Was carrying a highly-modified M4 and a Glock. I asked him to clear his weapons which was our policy in the aid station and I’ve never seen anyone clear as quickly as this dude. Nice guy, very cagey. Remember when I asked “what’s your name?” He responded with “you can call me Aaron.” This was Iraq in 2009-2010.
@@lsx646Yes the person you are responding to along with the 12 people that liked the comment are aware that it’s an old video. He’s saying Sean looks healthier now than he did in this video.
The things that are held back are the most impressive to me. I'm glad you guys can still thrive and have a life today! Conforming back into civilian life is the hardest part, I didn't do 1/10th or less then you guys did, and I still found it hard after I got out in the late 80's. I'm glad I got out. I don't think I would be of a right mind now if I hadn't.
@Dancingqueen2465 What did he lie about? I've seen a few comments over the years about people having a problem with things he's said or done but I don't know what to make of it. Has anyone reputable called him out?

Mike glover was probably one of my favorite interviews he ever did. I walked away from watching that years ago thinking he is AS BADASS as it gets. Id love to see a follow up interview with him.
I was in the hospital in Germany when the doc came into my room and told me my war was over. Probably the saddest day of my life. I missed my home and family but had no idea that I would miss fighting wars until this very day. Be easy brothers
You are a warrior for life, brother!! Your effort is still needed for wars constantly existing within civilian life on all levels! Spread your drive to be a true warrior to all who you come across that need to discover their own warrior mentality!! Hey Mike Ryan thanks for all you've done so Americans like me can live free. I feel. Broken in my heart as a. K woman cuz I know how hard it must be for you to have Love/family in civilian life. Dont give up You will have it someday.
They did literally nothing to help American civilians at all. I don't know if you are aware that Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya were not about to invade the US
Absolutely two outstanding studs and warfighters. Good humans as well. God Bless Mike and Shawn for their service. Now imagine all of us that don't do these podcasts. For genuine reasons. There's always another tier if you're all wondering. God Bless everyone.
So most people in the military have a military email account. One day you randomly get an email advertising an open position in "something" that correlates to your skill set. How they pick and choose who gets it is beyond me. All I know is when I tried to apply the next day they'd all ready filled their quota. Thats how badly a lot of tiered up guys wanted to get into that outfit. These opportunities just popped out of nowhere and the guys who usually got in already knew someone who was there already. The "culture" is real. I dont doubt you had to be good at your job, but the best of the best is a far stretch. Id like to think of it as a likeability contest within an all boys summer camp. If they simply didnt like you or if you didnt fit into their thing, you werent allowed into certain circles or given opportunities. I can recall times I didnt wanna go hangout at Hooters and drink beer with the guys because I thought Hooters was corny as hell and not long after I was accused of not being a team player. THATS the type of bs a lot of guys talk about and why they want out so bad.
I watched it again, and laughed my ass off. I don't know who your referring, but everyone I worked with in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and Egypt did not even see that as an issue

6.5 trips in between SOF trips and being a Sgt Maj. And to hear Tim Kennedy’s comment about sniper school makes me think this guy is one of the most experienced military men we have in war fighting. I am a fan of Delta. But Delta is not right for everyone. For those who do not know about what Tim said I’ll tell you two stories. You can find them on Shawn’s podcast. In Sniper school Tim lost his spotter and he was going to fail school because of it. And Mike said I’ll be a spotter and he was already finished. And they said would you still be his spotter if he fails you fail Mike said it makes no difference. They got to their point Tim shot before it even hit the mark Mike stood up started walking away and Tim said where are you going he said I don’t need to see it it’s going to hit. That’s how much confidence he had in Tim. And the other story is Tim said I don’t know what happened or how he knew it but behind a closed door there was a guy with an automatic machine gun and Tim was thrown to the ground by Mike just as the door exploded with rounds. Tim said Mike saved my life that day. Mike is extremely humble
That ... activity, you guys seem to have been involved in at the CIA actually sounds pretty darned cool. 😄Knowing a tiny bit about the level of marksmanship of our special ops soldiers - who are pretty good, and probably on par with their American counterparts - and then hearing that there is this secretive, even better unit out there. I would have liked to train with those guys when I was young enough for it to make sense to work on that specific kind of shooting skills. 😎
While I don’t wish Mike any harm, but his opinion is skewed. Why would the CIA’s SAD/SOG teams be better than Delta? Delta has an anti-terrorist mission. Mike couldn’t cut the mustard and failed the OTC for Delta. Excuses are like assholes. I sincerely doubt that the CIA SAD teams are better than Delta; they’d all have to be ex-Delta Operators.
Because Delta does not have the best in every position. I am a fanboy of Delta. But SAD/SOG takes the top from everywhere. There are people who never even served in the military that are better in certain aspects than those who went in the military. And the CIA pulls them in as well as the best individuals from the best groups in the military. It’s just getting further and further up the tip of the spear

It’d be cool to hear the standards bc most federal and police agency quals are an absolute joke. So using the air marshals as a bar is pretty low
