Ran into a fellow 20 years ago at a wedding. He busted out this move on the dance floor, much to the shock and amusement of other guests. I got up from my table to join him. We’ve been friends ever since.
Just heard of them a couple days ago at age 50. That’s 50 years wasted! Wishing to buy all 25 albums now. Love them! All their styles! All of it! Long live Sparks 💕
Sparks - long may they reign, absolutely brilliant, just as good today as I remember them as a youngster in the 70's & 80's. As for Ron's dance the highlight, great pair of guys😃👍
I saw Sparks at the Glasgow Apollo in 1975, the ticket was £1.50! The tickets for the Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom this week are £135! That’s almost 100 times more! Thank Bob I was born in 1959!
I was fortunate enough to see Ron Mael performing this dance it was " Completely Unexpected " But a " Brilliant Spectacle " None the less !!!! From Adrian Browne 1965
I remember when "this town aint big enough" came out, because Ron had a hitler moustage and then this strange stage appearance, and that alone was half the succes of the song because now everybody wanted to see that weird looking guy and became the talk of the town. "did you see that dude with the hitler stache?" Anyway, i love them them both and they are still on top of their game after all those years and on their age that is amazing!
He has charisma. I was watching rage last month when the song When l’m. With You by Sparks. And l couldn’t stop looking at the guy sitting there as a ventriloquist operator. Since then l’ve bought the song and is on my rotation. Along with there other song Music that you can dance to from one of my all time favourite kids film Rad.
He would probably be wearing a pair of his collected Air Jordans too..he loves them apparently! Never seen Sparks Live....been listening a long time though❤
He’s a dreamboat. That’s why. Also, he’s brilliant and funny and doesn’t take himself seriously. I find that incredibly attractive. Doesn’t matter how old he is.🖤
James Davis whats happened to the new docu film? it was supposed to be out at end of July in UK cinemas, ads everywhere then nothing, no trace of it, just pre order on you tube???? What happened to it? Im from UK
Back in the 1970s, a lot of us guys dreamed of being alpha rock gods like Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey, or Jim Morrison. But in reality, most of us were more like, well, like Ron Mael. He is the anti-rock star!
Yes. Looking back at the earlier 80's footage after he changed the 'tash' and not pulling faces, he is quite handsome, and when he smiles,..... well enough said!!
From the moment Sparks appeared I rushed out and bought their FIRST vinyl LP ' Kimono My House'....and played it constantly!! This was also a deciding factor (amongst others like Jean Michel Jarre and Giorgo Moroder) that got me into the long line of synthesizers Ive had over the years and guitars! Yes Ron was scary to me when I was small!
Mrs Richards: " I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?
when I saw Sparks they were the support band and "this town" had just charted, a lot of people seemed to think they were some sort of comedy act, a bit of a novelty and scoffed at them I thought they were what was going to happen next, they looked and sounded brand new a different to everyone else, they had a memorising stage presence and were more accomplished than the main band that night, I can't even remember who the main band was it so long back, might have been eddy & the hot rods or Dr Feelgood maybe the blockheads, someone like that anyways, half a century back now !

Yesss!!😂
As amusing and comedic they can be Ron and Russel Mael are still music geniuses and sooo original in their material. Kudos for keeping going
Ron has more style in his little finger than most pop stars have in their entire bodies!
Just heard of them a couple days ago at age 50. That’s 50 years wasted! Wishing to buy all 25 albums now. Love them! All their styles! All of it! Long live Sparks 💕
Better late than not at all!
This is heartwarming
with how little ron moves in each concert, i was half expecting him to go full on breakdancing
First saw them on top of the pops in the early 70s..ron had a incredible look..us kids were transfixed by his facial expressions....great live band.
That man was 73 there. I need a fitness routine.
Imagine if Ron makes it to 90 or 104 and he still has the moves by then.
@@tracymurray6840 My baby's takin' me home.
Um, I hear dancing is a good workout.
Impressive for sure
Been trying to Write a thing, that was my first thought, And Love Sparks, Hope you Doing your Fitne
The tissue on the brow was the perfect finishing touch to that awesome routine!

Not bad for a 73 year old man that typically moves around like a turtle. Ron is a very unique person.

Love the Roland keyboard. He's renamed it Ronald! Brilliant!
Sparks are simply one of the greatest contributors to music.
Innovative, non genre defining, artistic genius.
You need some serious help little boy.
@@pg9144 ??????

@@pg9144 , lol, like you'd know good music if it bit you in the ass
Whoever got his necktie went home very happy that night.
Love Sparks. Saw them in Ottawa sometime during the Cretaceous era but they are still making interesting g and original music!
Ron does “The Running Mael”…priceless!
I can't believe I've lasted 40 years without this in my life....
It just goes to show that sometimes the algorithm still works.
God bless Ron Mael

I love that he switched the letters around on his keyboard from Roland to Ronald.
Ron Mael is a comedic genius.
Pretty decent musician on the side.
He stills evoque a strange feeling. that's why I love them!!! Amazing guy and very intelligent!

I'm 46, and could use some of Ron's essence.
Love him…
I saw them open for Patti Smith in Detroit on her first tour

ТАКОГО я не ожидал, БРАВО!
Reminds of the Mel Brooks sketch “ Hitler on ice” in History of the World
Darn, sorry I didn’t get tickets for this concert😞. I really missed out!😂
Ron Mael invented the floss dance
This is the most i have ever seen him move!!!
I was there!…
Exceptionnel !
Guy's in his 70s!
His keyboard has the same name as him
Ron was what,73 here? I'm 49 and if I tried that I'd be bedridden for a week.
Either my crap right knee or crap ankle would collapse. And I’m 52.
I'm 58 and I wouldn't last a minute on the dance floor
i’m sixteen and i would be winded
I'm 52 and I can do it. I just need to go to the gym.
You people need to lay off the pop tarts
Ron certainly got in the swing
But when does he get to sing 'My Way'?
They were in the movie Rollercoaster....
wow, look at 'em go
Bust a move!
👖Oh my goodness! Abso loving the huge trousers!! Where are they from? They’re spectacular!👖
Cool. Cool. Cool.
Super cute!!! Who got that tie! Always a sharp dresser! 💋

Pretty fly for a white guy
Must be great living in that care home.
Brilliant...Still got it...😅

haha i can rest in peace.
It's the Running man
At some point there needs to be a dance off between Ron and Flake Lorenz of Rammstien.
😊😊😆👍
Life was good then
This guy is mad....😳
Say some gangsta is dissing your fly girl...
Nickelback brought me here
Almost scary.
I love them but that was haunting......
Ron, I love you, but you don’t have to wear your pants up to your sternum just because you’re in your 70’s.
It’s called style!
That’s where I wear mine
i think he always did that lol
I wonder what the neck size of those pants was.
Tumour has it he wears skinny jeans off tour
That's no dance , I heard he walks like that normally.
Its scary it should have been in Insidious!
That's the same dorky dance Genesis did in the 80s. Pretty sure Sparks came up with it first but still.
Wouldn't be surprised. I swear there are bits of the chord progressions from "This Town" in "Land of Confusion."
Bez don't got those moves man
I’ve never heard of this band…and now I know why.🤪
Nooooo, where has his Hitler moustache gone?????
He shaved it sometime around 1983.
That's a dance ? Looks like he's running in place .
It's a tapdancing shuffle.
WTF?
Utter cack
Freak show🤔
That dance was just awful
