When my sisters and I saw some cuttlefish at an aquarium in Canada, my sister commented that the way they move their fins makes them look like spaceships. I now want to see a spaceship based on a cuttlefish.
@@simplyaregularguy131 Really all of them, liset included. Even the railjack looks like a giant space cephalopod of some sort when you watch it zooming around
Well, if they can't see colours but can colour-blind camoflague perfectly there is a simple explanation and I want credit for it. This would also make sense in how they are able to do all the things that they do. Consider also the fact that the have a direct eye nerve brain nerve muscle in their skin connection. The W shape in their eyes allows them to see frequency vibration much much higher than human. High enough to distinguish colour. Essentially their eyes shake their brain and skin.
Well, signals in octopus' brain cells that are in their arms have been associated with color signals from our brain, so octopuses see color with their suckers, maybe cuttlefish do it too
This is why playing hide and seek with a cuttlefish sucks. They don't move, they just change color and texture. You can even hear them breathing while you count.
That's American, in Every other British speaking country it is "colours" the proper way to spell it. Every British person knows how Americans spell it but most Americans don't know how British spell it.

Warframe has a lander that you zip all over the place in and it looks vaguely cuttlefish-like, even has the little tentacles
@@quantumblauthor7300 Are you thinking of the Scimitar or the Xiphos?

I've come to formally accredit you. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your theory. Credit given.
I think chameleons found their competition
Jj Lexiana it’s not even close, chameleons change their color depending on their mood.

Amazing creatures!
I saw a documentary once, it was terrifying
Was expecting more
Anyone else notice the spikes coming out also? Wonder how it does that.
That’s cool how it mimicked a puffer fish to scare you
No, it just changed it's texture to try to blend in with the sand below it, the only cephalopod known to mimic animals is the mimic octopus
it made spikes appear on itself???!!!
Yes, cuttlefish & octopuses can change the texture of their skin to help blend in with bumpy, or smooth, surfaces
Now I want that ability
@@spirited_night I have psoriasis, so I look like a rock :)
