Nice one Sandrato. You're clearly putting a lot more rip on the ball. Can't wait to see you put that into your matchplay. Also is that Robert on the next court? His backhand is very recognisable haha.
Thank you! The next video will actually be a practice set. Tennis is a long journey and it really takes time to even just add a small thing to my game but i very much enjoy the journey :) And yes that is Robert!
Good job loving the intensity , remember getting better is a long process but as long as you keep doing what you are doing you will get better. Also another recommendation is find a coach that you respect that can take a really hard look at your game and help you with your weakeneses. Even if it’s once per month, I find that helps big time. I know you are a coach yourself but is good to have another set of eyes analyzing your game
Thank you so much for the encouragement! And I absolutely agree with you that even as a coach i could learn a lot from someone who can analyze my game once in a while, give me some feedback and a couple of things to work, and then check back in maybe a month later like you suggested and check the progress. Definitely open to that :)
You're a good player. One note on forehand. Your wrist looks stiff - the butt cap of the racket never points toward the ball. It's as if you're hesitant to go through a full range of motion by really letting the racket lag and so potentially missing out on creating a heavier ball.
My vote is yes, you are. Hadn't seen you play this guy before. Your S & V tactic is improving all the time. I still see a fair number of your balls still landing mid court, and that can invite your opponent to attack. It seems that stems from an almost massaging of the ball on your swing. You are getting much better at placement, but maybe you lack the confidence to hit with more pace, fearing a loss of control? Not sure. I did see late in the video he was much better at just unloading on his shots, and they were penetrating through the court, giving you trouble. I would think that would be your next phase of stepping up. Add pace to your control. Just my two cents worth.
Hey Nick! Hope you’re doing well! Yes I’m working on hitting harder consistently but that takes time to get used to. I do like to serve and volley a hit more because it allows me to naturally go for my serve and step in. And of course, my opponent was also playing well which doesn’t help 😂 how’s your tennis going?
forehand looking already more powerful, seems like you're hitting a bit flatter. Your backhands biggest issue from what I can see in this video is that you tend to hit it too thin which can be the result of not stepping into it, having too steep of an angle and not getting properly under the ball/swinging too early - basically all of the 3 points previously is hitting the ball a bit too much in front of you
@@louisedyhlen3234 Got it! That's actually very accurate. I'm glad you noticed that because I want to make sure that my backhand doesn't serve the same purpose as my forehand. Think the saying backhand is my shield, forehand is my sword. At this point of my tennis journey vs 5.0 players, what i need from my backhand is exactly spin and clearance to get high and deep balls to construct points so that i can either get a short ball where i can put away the winner, or a middle ball where i can run around to hit a forehand. While i enjoy ripping more backhands, the risk/reward is much better from ripping more forehands and serves rather than backhands at this stage of my tennis journey in my opinion. But thank you for your observation!
@@meinsouza haha very true! I was going to switch to the t-fight but all the ones I had access to are very different in specs and I don’t want to pay full price for it, so I’ll wait till the new ones go on sale!
Also when I see that he just lets that first lob go over him and not even try to run it down that early in the match screams lazy/out of shape to me. I'd hit drop shots and lobs and make him run all day. He'd be frustrated with me after about 10-15 minutes haha.

Good to know! I’ll try to loosen it up on my next training session :)

Thanks! what do you mean by hitting my backhand too thin?
@@sandratoplaystennis that you dont hit through the ball but rather brush the ball, which gives good spin and clearance but not ''heavyness''

didnt you have a video a few days back where you ditched the aero 98?

Are you using in-between eastern and semi-western grip?
Yes, more semi-western but not fully!

Notice where this top spin lob lands, 2 inches from the baseline. For this types of lobs, you either reach it in the air or you don't.
