Fly them all the time. Never had an issue. Allows me to splurge on other aspects of my vacation and take multiple trips a year.
I agree. Flew with them the first time this year and will be doing so again later this month. Loved it! You can't beat the prices and I love the staff. My boyfriend travels for work and loves flying with them He has never had an issue with them and prefers to them to all other airlines.
Yeah, who needs to pay for the $5 no crash fee, the $5 emergency oxygen fee and the $10 storm avoidance fee? Just forget those options.
Same, flown Spirit probably 15-20 times over the last 3 years, no issues whatsoever. Good airline.
@@jbevolve2023 Exactly. It's not luxury but if someone wants luxury just look elsewhere. I just need to get from point a to point b. Snacks on a flight? Meh. I never liked the snacks and they always seemed stale to me on legacy carriers. I just bring my water bottle from home and fill it up at the airport and bring my own snacks in case I need something to nibble on on their flight. In flight entertainment? Am I so l that I am on the last person on earth who remembers long car rides and having to read a book, or play with my gameboy or just take a nap? (Though to be honest I feel like my tablet is amazing and perfect for situations like that as I can read books and play games on it offline so I don't need wifi!) I would rather save money on the travel and spend that money on something from my trip.
i fly spirit all the time. i could careless if i dont get a drink and snack in a 3 hours flight i can always bring it. cheap A to B
You have to deal with the absolute dregs of society. I’ll pay a little extra so I don’t have to deal with smelly, mentally ill, Walmart people.

The Spirit-JetBlue merger is good for only JetBlue because they use the same aircraft types so JetBlue doesn’t have to wait for more aircraft to come in from Airbus. Spending the money to buy Spirit’s assets was much more valuable than spending that money with Airbus for future deliveries. It can then write off Spirit’s debt and it doesn’t have to train pilots on new aircraft.

Imo, the government’s case against the merger is pretty weak, for the following reasons:
1. The two airlines only compete on about 10% of Spirit’s routes (and I’d bet that Frontier and Allegiant also compete on said routes, or would quickly enter them if Spirit was bought).
2. As far as I’m aware, the government has never tried to outright block an airline merger like this. They have forced concessions in the past (to which JetBlue has agreed), but not outright blocked it.
3. Neither airline alone holds a major slice of the market share, and even a combined airline would be smaller than Southwest.
Also, as an aside, I’m betting JetBlue is probably going to do whatever it takes to get this done, be that possibly divest more gates/slots, appeal any loss (up to and including to SCOTUS, who would likely side with them), and even if they fail in court, simply wait for the White House to flip to try again.
I fly Spirit every month and I have never had a bad flight with them.
Spirit does not carry blankets! When you pay $29 a ticket, then yes you will pay extra. Did you forget about basic economy on the big 3. Yes, the flight attendants are happy and nice and people know they have to pay.
Just got inside their planes on a ATL-LAS-LAX-ATL flights and honestly was hoping for a worst flight experience than I in fact get…. The only thing that I miss was some sort of recline in the seats, that’s it

When you add all the fees up. United is as cheap or cheaper.
Spirit Airlines have the most uncomfortable seats. Thin upholstery and very uncomfortable. All they have to do is install seats that recline and that will make a huge difference.

That's cool that they're improving the insides of the planes with more comfortable seats and with legroom. As long as they don't change their bright yellow exteriors. And don't see any signs of them doing that
Omg! I know it sounds corny..but I love the bright yellow planes! Maybe because to me yellow is such a fun and happy color. I feel like it makes them unique and helps them stand out!
@littlesongbird1 I love their bright yellow planes also. I really don't see what's wrong with Spirit anyway, the things about it that some people complain about are issues thst all airlines have had, flight delays or cancelations, lost baggage, etc. Spirit is alright

Spirit isn't that bad, and I usually fly less than three hours. Each time I fly, I take a carry on, and save coin. Spirit will get my coin on my next flight as well. I'm good 😊

Spirit doesn't offer blankets they are a low cost airline
All airlines need to make obese seats and charge them accordingly… if I want to sit in the front I pay extra so they pay extra for their seats… and they shouldn’t be allowed to buy a regular seat and take up space in someone else seat… or pay for two seats….

Totally disagree with the merger being good. Spirit works because it competes with other airlines, merging it will jet blue (which is horrendous) will only mean higher spirit prices for the same under average service. Basically the merger is a threat to us the consumers.

I’ve heard this “we’ll be getting Spirit service for JetBlue prices” shtick from several people, and it doesn’t really make any sense. If the merger goes through, JetBlue is going to refurbish all of Spirit’s aircraft with JetBlue seating and amenities so they can expand JetBlue service to other routes.
And with Spirit out, do you really think Frontier and Allegiant won’t both try to fill their niche?

You pay for what you get. You might not get your plane in time. Or you might not get on your plane in time because of the lack of qualified crowd staff. We'll never fly with them again

Spirit kills other airlines, Spirit's passengers kill each other.
I will never fly with spirit again. They ground staff at the airport sucks and has not qualified or helpful whatsoever. In fact, they always understood and many people lose their flights

Now, in the event of an emergency on Spirit Airlines, stop screaming and don't count on a flight attendant, they are working from home. In the case of a decompression those of you that paid the $5 emergency oxygen fee will have the oxygen mask come down, put it over your nose and mouth and tug on the tube. The oxygen will flow. If you find a "child on board" find your favorite and assist them with their mask. In an event of a water landing the seat will act as a floatation device, but first put a quarter in the slot to unlock the cushion.
Remember the Spirit Airline Motto: You get what you pay for.

The first time this happened, shame on them. The second time this happened, shame on you. SPIRIT airlines don't care about the costumer, the only thing they care about is money. They changed gates at the airport, and when we reached to the second gate , it was closed. There was this mother with a baby. she begged the company to get her a fly that day; and simply they did not do it. we had to wait 2 more days in Florida get a fly to Northeast, and spend extra money in hotel, meals, and transportation.They won't spend a dime in a passenger. It was outrageous. A cheap flight becomes expensive with SPIRIT Airlines. I called the 866 # to complain, I was transfer to Kenia, the ladies over there simple did not do anything. She doesn't live in this this part of the world where Spirit airlines operates.
Never fly spirit. I fly Emirates and america is behind when it comes to flying. If you ever fly on 380 bus where there is a real first class up stairs and american first class that is next to everybody. Its a big difference qhen you have your own bed and shower and bar to drink from.
