    Bro the problem is the characters move sets are boring asl.. and the kameos basically give each character the same play style.. wanna be safe on everything and extend juggle kombos use goro. Want max damage on your kombos use sareena, and so on.. It’s like there’s nothing major that seprates each character. They need to fire this whole team, completely remove kameos, flesh each character all the way out and make them VASTLY unique from one another, and take the graphics back to the realistic and dark grimey look from mk11 but upgraded to current gen resolutions. Also invasion is THE worst online game mode I’ve ever played in the history of video games. THE WORST.

    Calling Raiden a well built character still blows my mind. If block string into Storm cell is well built idk want to know what's bad.

      Raiden also had great damage before he get nerfed which was able to compensate for lack of his mix-ups and normals he had on normals.
      People were not using raiden before chip damage when he came out

      I don't understand why NRS made the kameo system. People didn't like the tag team mode in Mortal Kombat 9. That was more of an actual team based mode, and it wasn't received well. So why in the absolute fuck, would they make a mode that isn't even fully fleshed out, and wasn't liked in previous games, the only way to play in this game?

    Looks like WB Games lost $400+ million Q1 2023 to Q1 2024 after the success of Hogwarts. $200 million from Suicide Squad game. However, during the earnings call and second investors' call, the WB CEO never mentioned MK1 or MK1 sales. Looks like MK1 didn't help soften the $400+ million lost. They had those almost 3 million units tweets/articles but since then radio silence on sales.

    People don't see it. These DLC and Kameos are some sort of light pay to win characters. They are all OP and uunfair, Kameleon being one of them. Ermac is OP without any Kameos, he literally feels like he was built for 1v1 with no Kameos.

      @@arjunratnadev No mate, it’s necessary to get a life.. You buy a game, you learn the game, if you don’t like it you stop playing it.. You don’t go about expecting devs to change their game to suit you.. Expecting bugs and stuff to be removed is fine, a product should work as intended, but to expect gameplay to be changed to suit you is a no, nah, the devs do what they wanna do, it’s on you to get the hang of the game. No one is forced to buy a video game, it’s a choice.. MK could be absolutely shocking for the rest of time, but as long as you keep buying the games that’s on you.. Game devs ain’t there to serve you, they offer a product and you have the choice to buy it or don’t, simple as that.

    I think a small change to address incentives in kameos would be to have separate cds for some kameo moves that have long cooldowns or take the whole bar. Just give those moves a separate bar on-screen. You could even give the full bar moves and ambushes longer cds. That way your setup tools like Motaro turret or Darrius still have to be managed but you aren't committing ALL your resources like you are now. Goro stomp could be used once or twice while he still has access to punch walk or the grab on a separate bar. You could give lao kameo launcher a longer cd and it wouldn't matter if it was on a separate bar that you could only use once or twice per round, while lao hat is still on fast cd. It would require some balance in deciding which moves go with which bar but many kameos would benefit from this and you could do it without making the game broken.

    I think a great solution would be to maybe have cameo cool-downs exclusive to themselves, like different moves would have their own cool-down. I feel this would make it to where more people would be enticed to use all of a cameos moves instead of just kung Lao hat

    Weird that the kameos don't just have bars 1, 2 and 3. Have the long cd moves cost 2 and the short cost 1 and have them share the same cd across the board (maybe faster than the short cd currently?). Also, buff the vanilla kameos. The dlc ones are so much better than the older ones imo, I Keep running into the same ones. I love this game but I want to see characters have more options and see new teams. Could do with a kameo related defensive option too, 1 bar to have your kameo interupt the others kameo or something? Idk if that'd be chaos or not tho 💀

      That's interesting. I mean, I kind of love it. You could even fuck a third bar in to the kameo and have the bar charge at like 10 seconds. A defensive option per kameo would be an excellent addition IMO. I mean, things would get messy but I'm kind of fkin ready for some chaos. Never happen obviously, cause pro komp and too much change but it's a fun idea.

    Remove the entire Kameo system and rebalance the characters with the reptile treatment.

      Just insane, the kameo system is in as the core mechanic of this game - it adds so much to the characters. They would need to give the characters far far more than they have at the minute and what they gave reptile for them to be interesting to play without the main core mechanic. Look at MKX, look at the number of strings, NJPs, launchers, options on the ground. Think how much they would have to add to make the game more interesting than an MK11 2.0 by completely removing the mechanic the game was designed around. The 'Reptile treatment' is a treatment which works and is good because makes the character benefit from multiple kameos, and not solely reliant on one, and not because he don't need no kameo no more.

      @@allforthefanswhat are you on about? Every character in the game has a giant and complete move list. Only Scorpion is lacking. The rest of the cast have the best move list they have ever had. Great example of this is sub zero,his kit and gameplay is the best it has ever been. The kameo doesn’t compete the characters move list it just adds to them

I think they added a few cool things to this game from MK11 from the pure 1v1 perspective such as air combos but that ain’t enough to carry this one passed MK11 2.0 without its main mechanic. I just don’t see the move list being rich enough to provide enough variety for players to be creative, hell you could even argue creativity is lacking in portions even with the kameos (although I think it obviously does allow significant creativity). I’ll give you an example, I could learn a characters optimal combos and their gameplan on MK11 in no time, and it’s not because I’m good, it’s because they only had one, and I think if you take the kameo mechanic from this game, even giving everyone the ‘reptile treatment’ wouldn’t be anywhere near enough. I’m not saying it wouldn’t be playable but I just don’t see it being enough. Sorry, just disagree!

      ​@allforthefans been playing liu kang , raiden , kunglao , Scorpion and subzero without using kameos since the game came out and i still do. The gameplay itself is fun and doesn't need kameos unless they deliberately make weak characters that's needs them.

    Rain now is also in that category, they gave him 2 mids and buffed his cancel and boom, he is great now, he can play with every cameo. They should buff characters, and make some of cameo moves more rewarding.

    pushback should be being tested now, either by the nature of the combos or pushing back using resources (half a bar maybe, some other bar, you name it)

    I agree but I think reverse it. The 1st ability's bar comes back first even after you did the 2nd one. So if you do fast into slow, it regens fast until the mid point.

    NRS should make a defensive system that would count a bar or 2 to help against Kameo cool down system, and give everybody else the rain and reptile treatment, that would help

    I think this game would've worked much more smoothly with some of Injustice 2's system mechanics. Like Block Escape for example. Have it cost 1 bar, then open up the Kameos & buff the characters, so they aren't Kameo dependent.
    You also made a great point about how Super Jumps, air mobility, air blocking, etc automatically make assists in a game like MVC manageable. Most assists, regardless of utility control space. Without something as simple as a Push Block their hands are tied with these long cooldown times on assists.
    The game is crap lol

    This game dead imo. Since Tekken 8 came out, I still haven’t came back to play it and even after Ermac dropped, I tried his trials and I turned off the game and got back on Tekken 8.

      @@RirimoYTI like the way Ermac looks and play but the game as a whole just doesn’t feel fun to play like it did for me back on MKX.
      In MKX I had thousands of matches and was able to play almost the entire roster and multiple variations for some. The kameos I thought would be fun but overtime the longer I played and realized how the game turned out to be, it kinda hurt the gameplay.

    Completely remove the variation system. This is the third time NRS has forced it on us even after being universally panned by the community. NO ONE ASKED FOR THE VARIATION SYSTEM. Make every character a complete, standalone package. Thats how you fix the game. Assists make absolutely zero sense in an MK game, they should've saved it for Injustice 3, where it would make perfect sense... we all know MK1 was originally supposed to be I3 anyway.

      @@evac213 the whole superhero team up trope is why it makes sense for I3's gameplay. MK has always been one on one, not two on two. It will always feel tacked on in Mk1, even if it were crafted with MK in mind since day one & from the ground up, because it does not make sense from a narrative standpoint.

      i am sure the reason they havent gone 3d is it requires a whole new engine and new animations this era has allowed them to constantly reuse asssets much like how they rinsed the deadly alliance engine for close to a decade for like 4 games untill mk9 but who knows maybe they might surprise us with the next game, i doubt it but anything is possible.

    There's one thing you don't have into consideration regarding Khameleon, she has the fastest cooldowns but you can't pick her attacks.
    You just have to adapt to the variation she is into (or the one she is about to turn into), and then play according to that, and that is a big downside that no other kameo has.
    Just imagine having Lao with Khamaleon's cooldowns but having his attacks random, sometimes you get the hat, then the teleport and then the spin...which option do you think people would pick? The traditional Lao with longer cooldowns or the random Lao with faster ones?

    My biggest issue with kameos is characters who spam hard to blocks for example they will do a overhead and kung Lou hat at the same time and it’s almost impossible to defend it

    I propose a modification to the Kameo system, inspired by the ABC system from Dragon Ball FighterZ (DBFZ). Let me summarize my idea:
    1. **ABC System:**
    - **A and B Moves:** These are universal moves shared by all characters (kameos) in the game. They function as normal attacks.
    - **C Move:** Each kameo has a unique special move associated with it. This move consumes a full bar of energy.
    - **Energy Bars:** Characters can accumulate energy bars (1 or 2 bars) to perform A or B moves.
    - **Damage Consistency:** Regardless of the chosen character, the damage output remains the same.
    This approach could indeed reduce dependency on specific characters and add variety to gameplay. (and in thefuture apply new ABC movements to get on shrine by coins to switch)

    I feel like the only way to solve The kameo meter problem is to make each move have it's own individual bar. Almost like Grand blue does it's special moves. You can essentially use all of your special moves in a combo but they're all going to come back at different rates. In Mortal kombat's case it would be doing a combo with almost all of your kameo moves available at the cost of some of them coming back really slow and some of them coming back really fast, but this way they are not tied to the same shared part of meter.

    Would you be able to make a video on the small changes you would make to each character to make them more like Reptile? Like with Li Mei maybe allowing her to more easily combo into her lanterns or giving her Zhi Shi lion less recovery so she could use that to extend combos with more than one kameo might help her somewhat. Maybe Mileena needs full-screen projectiles. I don't know, but I think giving everyone the Reptile treatment is a good idea. Hope they follow through.

    I still love this game and the kameo system; however, there's definitely room for improvement.
    For one, I wouldn't mind them reducing the number of summon kameos, converting a lot of them to ambush moves instead. There are so many kameo moves I would use if only I could reliably get them to work outside of the end of a two-hit string or throwing them out in neutral.
    I'd also like to see a uniform push block mechanic added, even if it cost meter (maybe two bars?) like in Injustice. With Mavado having this, I've got a feeling that this will both be pushed for by the fans once Mavado's released and eventually given by NRS. I could easily be wrong on the latter part of that, but I definitely think people are going to push for it.
    Not sure what else I'd do, as super jumping and air dashing (outside of the characters that currently have it) would just be weird in MK. They would be to me, at least.

    You have a HUGE point with air blocks. We fight in the air. Why not block in the air. I can't tell you how many times I have jumped just to realize I am vulnerable.
    Regarding cameos, I LOVE Janet. She has style and LOTS of options. The only reason I don't use Chameleon is I don't want to have to keep track of what mode she is in.

    MRS problem was tje Kameo System is good on paper but to put in action need some rules like Push block and air dash but they thougth "lets be diferent " and now is biting them in the ass

    Havik is one of my favorite characters in the game, and it's sad for him to be in the shapes he's in when it can so easily be fixed. His entire damn gameplay revolves around an unlockable move that costs 2 bars, scales his already TERRIBLE damage to shit, and he can be hit out of. I understand that's a tricky situation to balance being unlockable and all, but the answer to that isn't to make everything else about the character trash. Buff his damage, speed up one maybe 2 attacks, tweak the hitboxes on his 2'2 and B'2'2 and I feel he'd be fine.

    Reflect isn’t dbfz push block it’s guard canceling. You can’t reflect if your being hit already unless there’s a gap, guard cancel you can but it can be baited and lead do death….how vs fighting games should be

    -Scorpion overhead 30-22 frames. It would be nice if spear pulled opponent away because sometimes your back is against the wall
    -serena should drain meter even faster. Shes really good at checking in neutral this will help even more.
    -Sonya energy ring becones unblockable when fully charged or crushing blow (mk11) make leg grab faster
    -Cyrax should shoot bombs instead of self destruction two distances
    -sektor tracking rocket should launch, and flame thrower should be a invincible reversal
    - Frost snow flake should be way faster and dagger should be ambush
    -JAX i agree 💯
    -tremor i agree 💯
    -goro punch walk should should be a low grab instead everything else seems fine
    -motaro turret sucks should be a charge attack that grabs opponent for a full combo.
    - Darius foward kameo (summon overhead )should be a fast reversal
    - overall i think janet is the ideal summon kameo combo extender, safe reversal, safe cancel. Frost is close but she lacks a safe reversal and her set up is too slow. Kameos with grounded ambush attacks shouldn't have a invincible reversals, those that don't all should have invincible reversals. Lastly some kameos having crushing blows seems dope especially the ones we rarely see ( Darius back kameo, sonya energy rings, jax grab, frost daggers) all have animation from mk 11

    I think the way they fix the kameo system is by making all the cool downa be the same length for all the kameos. That way, the game is consistant and the kameo will actually mean something instead of waiting a round for a cooldown

    I been saying every kameo should be completely replenished after each round. When I play Khameleon, I don’t even have to think about the next round. With Goro, I’m spending meter bars just so that I’ll have him in the next round. #buffgoro

    I'd like to see them remove all the moves from the Kameos and instead have us select the skill (assist) ability we want on the character select screen similar to other assist games. This way we only have 1 Kameo ability (Lao low hat for example) but it will be more powerful.

    Add a 1v1 mode. Would do wonders. Some people don't want to deal with 2v2 or 2v2 games. Thats why KOF doesn't
    get enough attention. Its hard enough to learn a game but you add an assist of other characters to memorize moves or setups its
    just a big head ache.

    I think people downplay a lot havik, he isnt as bad as even sub zero, why is one more use than the other? Because sub at least is a little more versatile in his way of being played, as havik only serves as a tanky character, that is the reason why he has the most health of them all and havik's best kameo isn't even near stryker nor cyrax, instead is kano, why? Easy, pressure, my guy havik can take a lot of hits with insane punishment but still I can understand why people think that way

    1 for ambushes
    1 for summons
    So now we can use the crappier moves

    My fav was telling someone i wanted mk1 to have a 1v1 mode instead of kameos all the time. Dude said it was a skill issue for me. I told him i was a grandmaster rank and he still said it was a skill issue just for competitive people. Bruh how delusional does someone have to get? Lmfao

    Omg, finally Tom! Finally you accepted the fact this is NOT an assist game. It's a 1v1 game with complimentary moves. You're not supposed to "spam" kameo moves. Khameleon is unique because she's more of a party style kameo. Forget all the BS about adding defensive mechanics. I hope they don't make the mistake and make Mavado's pushblock universal because if they do, it'll be all your fault for constantly asking for it. It'll destroy the game.
    Exactly like you said, all the main characters need to be complete like Ermac and be able to stand ON THEIR OWN. You need to acknowledge NRS has been doing exactly that with the latest 2 major patches. They're making the main cast better by opening them up. That's the way. It'll take time, but that's the way.

      You take your main char and you pick a kameo. A main char can have 20 variation picks via the Kameo chars

      ^adding a couple SET moves by picking one before a fight BARELY makes it any more deep in fact I think its not as deep as the variations were. The 3 kenshis in MKX and other examples were all so much more different than your base character with a corny "kameo"

    What if they separated the bars kameos used to let them be used individually (barring a homing Sektor missile which would still use two). This would allow you to use a longer cd move on one bar. Then use a quicker ability on the other bar to let you use the assist a bit more often. Allowing you to use more aspects of a kameo. Granted you could still use short cd moves on both bars and the cd would still be the same. With the same cd if you used long cd moves if you used both bars.

    They would say that it was with Ermac that they finally understood how to design the characters of this game, this game is a huge joke, how a company that has experience in fighting games can create characters that cannot play alone and which are dependent on the kameo, not to mention the poke poke grab backdash meta, the only positive point is the variety in the combos but with regard to the way of playing a character, taking turns etc. there is nothing, hunter x hunter nen impact is very criticized but has better quality in terms of gameplay than this poorly developed game

    I think the core is fine, it’s the edges that need smoothing out.. But only in terms of making more characters viable, the gameplay itself is absolutely fine and most bugs have been dealt with..
    When you buy a video game it’s on you to adapt and learn how to play that game, it’s not on the devs to adjust things to suit you, no matter the game..
    There are two reasons people whine about games.. 1, they’re boring, the consequences of a game being boring is people don’t play it, yet plenty of people are still clearly playing the game, plenty of people also still complaining about the game.. And 2, the player is bad, cannot win/do a level etc and it’s the games fault, never the players, and when it comes to fighting games that is almost always the problem.. Video games are about “winning”, people don’t like not winning.

    I feel like this is a little bit disingenuous because the assistant in this game don’t work like Marvel or a dragon ball. If they did then you would be 100% correct in needing push block or air block… so lemme ask this, Do you think this game is as oppressive as marvel or Dragon Ball because I’ve been hearing you say the only thing we can do is poke poke poke back dash poke, poke poke but now you’re saying we need air blocking and push blocking air dashing and super jump for a game that has nothing but pokes?

    remove the cameo system. Set a standard among all characters in regards to combos (1bar 30-33%)(2bar 35-42%) and somehow fix the poke-grab bullshit and it might actually be a good game.

    You say the attacks on tremor are useless and other moves but if you play creative enough all the attacks are useful. There’s no right way to open people up hoe you change your rhythm is vital in this game and those slower kameo moves help put slow pressure on players

      I’m really convinced you don’t like this game because you play a tightened up version of it. If two pros play exactly the same it will be a math battle of pokes and precision. But you can be god tier and not play mathmatically. Playing nitara or Shang tsung really highlight the randomness in how you get to people during a match it’s the most complex mk game to date. Multiple characters have two move sets. Every character has like 7 special moves where it used to be 3 cuz variations. Kenshi is literally 2 people at once and the kameos just make it that much more varied.
