Wow,haven't heard this in aeons. Heard on the radio back in 1986 once and leapt to record the back end of it onto cassette tape in case I didn't catch who it was from the disc jockey.
Have this and their first album loaded into the hard drive in our car. I've owned both CDs since they were released. Both get pretty regular play. Glad to see that Honeymoon Suite is still at it today.
You have to realize that this was the dawn of the Mtv age, music videos were just becoming an art form, and along with the experimentation of the music itself during the 80s so was the music video...the 80s were a wonderful decade of creativity in music, each band or singer trying to find their own sound or style, and I was so fortunate to have grown up in this era
I'd say... and I'm jealous I'll never get to experience it live, or in it's early days. But I'm glad my parents always play plenty of good tunes, like this one. They really started growing on me when I was around 6 or 7, and it still hasn't stopped either, and I hope it never does.

I met these guys at Thunder Bay airport in 2004, before travelling back to home in the UK, spoke with Jonny for a few minutes, and he signed my CD cover that I had at the time - I bought it in Toronto just before. I still have it to this day! They were very friendly and said bye to me as we departed the plane at Toronto (Westjet).
This hit from Honeymoon Suite was heard on the Miami Vice episode, Free Verse, which aired on April 4, 1986. Miami Vice will always be one of my all time shows. It was the first to combine MTV with police action drama.
I remember when this came out. I was 18 and about to start on my adventure to get here, almost 40 years later. This song still goes with me wherever I go. And working in radio, I give a "spin" a couple times a month.
At 51 years of age and a guitar player myself since the age of 12, this is, in my opinion, one of the best songs written in my lifetime!!! And it's not even my favourite genre (80's metal head)
Mark Garno I. absolutely agree. I'm from Syracuse, NY, went to Niagara University in the late 80's and had so many good times in Ontario. I can't tell you how many times my friends and I would walk over the Rainbow Bridge on Friday and Saturday nights and go to the bars over the border in NFalls, Canada. Have seen many great Canadian bands perform....BareNaked Ladies one of my favorites. Of course Honeymoon Suite, Alanis Morrissete, Rush, etc. That's also when I discovered all the great bands from England. I'm long overdue for a trip to Canada or a concert for that matter. Wish I was still living in the 80's, ha,ha.... Fantastic memories I made and think about still. Not to mention all that amazing Canadian beer. Molson Brador my favorite.
@@erinn512 hahaha! Molson Brador...brings back memories! Each summer, during the late 70s & throughout the 80s, my buddies & I would go camping in the beautiful Finger Lakes region & also south of Syracuse. We always took a few 'two-fours' (cases) of Brador down with us to share with our American friends who we'd see every summer. Brador went down so smoothly, but had almost twice the alcohol content as American beer did back then. It was fun watching our American friends get wasted so quickly! lol And to drive home the point, I literally had (American) 'Beer & Cheerios' for breakfast every morning! lol :) Good times with good folks! :)
I was just saying that I thought NightFlightOrchestra - were they ever to cover anything - it should be some Saga, Honeymoon Suite, Harlequin, Haywire, Gowan and on and on. My brother in law got the contract to do the electrical for the concert and that got me front row and center ALL BY MYSELF because they set up the stage so the rest of the crowd were in the seats behind me. They sang the whole concert basically to little old me, and I danced the entire time pissing off every jealous female who didn't have front row access like me. Great song from a great band. Also an incredibly unusual video for a rock band in 1986 at a time when all the other big names were going for hairspray, big stage settings, amps and drum risers.

@@b.j.banditt2046 Too true!!! Ian Thomas was our neighbour growing up in Hamilton (along with his big brother Dave!) and a little-known fact is that Ian did the voice for Rusty the Rooster on the Friendly Giant TV show for a year because the puppeteer (Rod Coneybeare) had vocal nodes and couldn't hit the high falsetto for Rusty's voice.
Saw them at Busch gardens Tampa on this tour. Fun show. I just remember one of the guys (bass player?) had a nice shiner on one of his eyes. Probably. Good story behind that.

Yup, that clean chorus tone with 480 ms delay with single coil pickups ....is a classic 1980's guitar tone staple
Such a great song from a decade of great songs!
great song.
Great album / cd. If anyone remembers them. This is one of the best!
Saw them at Busch gardens Tampa on this tour. Fun show. I just remember one of the guys (bass player?) had a nice shiner on one of his eyes. Probably. Good story behind that.
I'm 59 now and this song still rocks!! brings back great memories
What an amazing track... Where's my greatest hits (The Singles) CD. The most underrated band ever.
One of the best songs from the 1980s...this band way underrated. I played the living shit out of this record on the radio...and I'd do it again. Any day, any time.
What a great band from such a great ers of music. The 80s were such a great time to grow up.
Absolutely love this
good stuff!!!!!............. back when it was fun......
Ain't that the truth, Brother!!!
One of my favorites from the 1980s sweet uplifting tune relatable a cool Canadian band still around too I believe.
I agree that this band was underrated. I would also include the Outfield. S
super beautiful song omg, it's still lovely today
I saw these guys in a club in Vallejo CA while I was in the Navy, called Talk of the Town. AWESOME night!!! Awesome club and Awesome time in my life.
Been there as well and Alameda . Oilers and AE's.
If you ask me, the guitar player was one of the best guitarists in the 80s.
agreed brad
That's a stretch. The 80s had so many guitarists that I would think of way before this guy.
Keith Scott from Bryan Adams could really shred too
Was President Trump. M.A.G.A
Yes A Very Underrated Band! Great Songs, great songwriting, i have to get this CD
Love this song!
Is this your favorite song?
Haven’t heard this song in many yrs but it came on the radio few nights ago while working in the fish market.
Had to look it up on here as I couldn’t remember the bands name.
All came back to me……. The 80’s were the best!!!
This reeks of the 80s ,, LOVE IT !!!
Watched them live outdoors on Canada Day just last summer and they still sound great! 🎸
Love the song. So reminds me of my 1st college love. May he Rest In Peace.
This song brings back memories.
If someone born after the year 2000 came up to me and asked me what the 1980s were like, I'd just show 'em this video.
I have a co worker that was born in 1990 I tell her about the 80s and how good the music was back in the day..so I send her some 80s videos 😎
Better still, tell 'em you needed to have lived in the 80s to fully appreciate how simple life was.
Or The Cars, "You Might Think"
Born in 2004 and this music ROCKS! Nothing today fires you up like 80s music
@@CJEstradaMartinez So very true Carlos. It's like taking a picture of a natural wonder. You can compose it, process it, and enhance it. But nothing will tell the story like being there, in the moment. The 80's were truly the best of times. We who lived them are blessed with a special privilege. The music is but a wonderful snapshot of what was.
Great memories listening to this. I forgot about this awesome group. They had so many awesome singles. Long live the 80s.
I'm 52 ( December 7th ) High School class of 1985 MTV Mickey Dolenz of THE MONKEES was Guest VJ from 12 noon - till 6 pm EST Saturday May 6 1986 THIS was the 4th video he played
