@@seanleblancdualca so what? So that I met them. What's your point or problem. I met alot of bands, my cousin is a cop in Toronto and made me go backstage
this was my dad's favorite song. he passed away 6 years ago. this song makes me sad but I love it because it brings up a lot of good memories. I hope he'd let us know what does it take to kill the pain of losing him. I love you.
The memories and time are probably your best bet (along with ignoring comments like Steve Mandl's). I have a playlist on my youtube account I labeled "Dad Songs" that are all songs my Dad enjoyed, and I play it when I want to feel close to him. He died in 2004.
El Ranchito Studio, I looked up this song because I knew it was in a great '80s movie - I just couldn't remember which movie. Thank you SO MUCH for reminding me!
in Texas where i grew up we had 3 radio stations ;one rock, one country and one soul station...we only had a few sources for music, and if they made it that far you knew they were special...this band made it all the way down here from canada....
They were played quite often on the radio across the Lake in Cleveland, OH back then. Their first 3 albums got plenty of airplay. I even got to see them at a free concert in 1986 during the Big Prize tour.
First off, I wanna dedicate this song to my new found financial freedom, therefore I just paid off newly revamped my house in full earlier this year at the age of 40 years old, and I'm now rejoicing by way of crying sweet tears of joy. And all is right in my life. Thank you Jesus, my prayers have been answered.
When I comment how great the 80s were, a lot of people say so are the 2000's, the music is great they say!!! Ok, true, their are great bands today but the 80s had incredible bands, the 80s were unforgetable man, just magical, was very lucky to live my teens during those times!!!
The 80's were the best! I saw Honeymoon Suite play in Hinton in the summer of 84. I was 18. One of the band members received a call during the concert his wife had her baby! They opened champagne and shared a toast! 🎉🎉
I love this band! they were big in Quebec city back then, they had sold out shows everytime! and the guys were always trying to speak french to us, the crowd really loved them!! I believe they were the best ambassadors for Canada everywhere... even within our borders!!
This song just popped up in my head and I had to listen to it. I totally forgot who sang it and everything but always liked it and brings me back to the 80s
I don't know how much exposure they got on Radio stations or MTV in the States. I know they were a success in Canada but they must have broke into the music charts south of The Border. I know they did do the Soundtrack for one of The Lethal weapon movies with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover
I saw these guys live twice in the 80s & was lucky enough to chat with a few of them on the phone when they were visiting a local radio station. It left a huge impression on me being a shy teenage girl. They were waving and pointing at me and my friends during their show ( I told them on the phone where our seats were located at and they remembered ..LOL). They are such sweet & talented guy's and I'm surprised they never did become mega HUGE. They made incredible music ♥ .

I have see these guys live every chance I get. Thet seem to make it to Alberta every couple of years and I'm always there. They are great live. Love this song! I've always kind of had a crush on Johnny. Met them once on their tour bus. Nice guys. I wish that I'd had the balls to be a groupie!! Won't be getting that chance again I don't think!
trudymaygard I don't know if you'll see this because your comment is 15 years old now, but I just have to tell you this... You're not alone. 🙂 I went to high school with Johnny and nearly every girl in our school had a crush on him too, including me. I got that movie on DVD. "One Crazy Summer" is one of those romantic comedy movie, makes anyone think of their first romantic encounter. When I met Tiffany, it was love at first sight. John Cusack and Demi Moore had that first same thing. That movie makes anyone think of that first romantic crush.
I recorded Once Crazy Summer on HBO when I was in junior high and listened to the closing credits over and over. Eventually I bought the cassette. That movie was good. Thinking about the scene with Bobcat in the Godzilla costume makes me laugh.

Wow, people are pretty jaded with their comments on this post for people expressing grief. Hardened people, no sympathy!
One Crazy Summer! Damn the 80s was an amazing time. When I look back on it now, I'm honored to have experienced it:)
El Ranchito Studio I was 11 or 12, when that movie was out in 1986.

What Does It Take
The two of us are one of a kind
Our combination ain't easy to find
Why do I get a feeling from you
Things ain't right do you need something new
Knowing how both of us live
Leaves us so little to give
If I could grow wings I would do anything
Just to keep you with me
Can't you see
If I could fly high I would give you the sky
Don't you make that mistake
What does it take
It's not like I've been mean to you
It's not like I've got something better to do
The life I live you'll never understand
If you fly with me
We'd never have to land
It's easy to live hard and fast
But inside we know it won't last
Yeah
If I could grow wings I would do anything
Just to keep you with me
Can't you see
If I could fly high I would give you the sky
Don't you make that mistake
It's your love that I need
What does it take
Knowing how both of us live
Leaves us so little to give
Yeah
If I could grow wings I would do anything
Just to keep you with me
Can't you see
If I could fly high I would give you the sky
Don't you make that mistake
What does it take
If I could grow wings I would do anything
Just to keep you with me
Can't you see
If I could fly high I would give you the sky
Don't you make that mistake
What does it take
What does it take
What does it take
What does it take
What does it take
