Ectopic pregnancy is the absolute WORST thing i been through!!!!!!! the day i found out i was 7 weeks was the day i also found out i need surgery in 3 places and could not have my baby!!!! it’s been since october and i’m ready to try again… i always get bv which they said was maybe what caused it. should i see a doc and get tested and get my bf tested as well??? i want a baby so bad i want to be a awesome mom i know i can be :(
I am so sorry to hear Soph. I have no doubt you will be an amazing mother!! BV may a contributing factor, however there may be other influences contributing to you and your partner's fertility. Reaching out to a dietitian and fertility specialist may help uncover any other factors! Please do not lose faith! I am keeping you in my thoughts!
I’m so disappointed with this video - I was hoping it would tell me how to recover nutritionally after an ectopic pregnancy and it’s actually just all about if you get the shot. I had emergency surgery for a ruptured ectopic and wanted more info about healing & prepping for future pregnancies. Not everyone gets the shot. Many of us are recovering from emergency surgery.
Thanks for your feedback Sara. With emergency surgery you need to ensure adequate protein, zinc and vitamin C for the next 6 weeks whilst wound healing occurs.
Hi Melanie, I had taken methotrexate but it hasn’t worked and I have been operated to remove ectopic pregnancy and my fallopian tube during surgery. Do I have to take folic tablets in this case or not? Thank you in advance for your advise
I'm so sorry to hear that you experienced an ectopic pregnancy. I would suggest avoiding veggies that would cause any digestive discomfort like broccoli or cabbage and instead consume fruits or veggies which are palatable and also colourful (berries etc). Take care x
Hi there, I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy. I recommend following the tips in the video, or alternatively booking in an appointment with myself for personalised dietary advice www.melaniemcgrice.com.au/booknow/ Take care x

Thank you so much Melanie! I’ve been reading that tomatoes and spinach contain a lot of folate. I’m avoiding those. Can I eat cooked white rice (not enriched) and some cheeses? As a vegetarian, I’m finding it really hard to find anything that doesn’t naturally contain folate. I had no idea I’d been eating so healthy! Not really finding any safe option other than potatoes currently!
You're right Gouri! It can be difficult for vegetarians! You might find this website helpful in finding low folate options! www.eatthismuch.com/food/browse/?type=food&group=Fruits%20and%20Fruit%20Juices
Hello on 28 may i got first injection of methotrexate and dr. Gave me the tablet of folic acid for having it once a day. And you are saying don't take folic acid. So ??
According to research, women who have suffered an ectopic pregnancy had an increased risk of unfavourable birth outcomes in future pregnancies, such as preterm birth and low birth weight. However, with appropriate care and intervention, the risk may be lowered :)
