Do not go anywhere where tourist usually goes....its boring, u can see that on so manny youtube videos. Just go on streets of belgrade, go to the bars, restorans, just be part of the peoe, feel the energy. And novi sad, do exact the same...novi sad is a special place, trust me...

Hi Jess, till last week I did not think a lot about how foreigners see Serbia, and than our family made decision to invite my colleague (it is international company) and his pregnant wife to spend part of their vacation as a quests in our home. They also have read lots of stupid things on web related to Serba and Serbian people, but at the end they where sorry to live us and go back home. Similar story like yours but much more intensive since we live in small city surround by nature and lots of historical places. Our drinks like rakia and vine are different since in Sumadia all households are made one by old secret family recipes ;) Don't get me wrong, we also had some suspicions since we have small children but at the end it made me to search stories about this topic "what strangers think about Serbia" since our "strangers" where so happy and we become like family. Any way thanx for nice words about our homeland and people i wish you all best (maybe to find yourself a nice Serb and become part of Serbia on that way too :) ) And please say hello to your countryman's from "big bad Serbs" and tell the that we are not so bad :)
