Just in case anyone was going to build their own,... You need a 10" continuous loop to work with the beast tender on the platform and an 8" for the stick set up. This is for the proper diameter and a 7 loop schwabish hitch... I was told this from The Amsteel Guy himself
Awesome, I am definitely switching to this for my platform. Tired of the cam buckle and metal clanging everywhere, plus I think this might be safer. Excellent review as always!
For a platform, do you prefer the USA XL "pro" model to the regular version? Wondering if the extra tightness of the pro is significant enough to justify the extra steps & fiddle factor of feeding the line back though the 2nd prussic knot?
I tried reaching EWO but they are very swamped never answer the phone, You said there was another guy to get this stuff from called Etsy Amsteel? Is there a link for the site or a phone number thanks again for the great video
I live in north Dakota and not findi ng where I can get that type of climing ropes up here. And stuck with polly rope works but collapses when squeezing on it.
I personally use the regular. If I felt I needed to, I could use the truckers hitch on the regular also. I have found double wrapping the tree suffices most times. For the sticks, I haven’t felt the need to use the pro.
I’ve ordered 1/4 inch Amsteel rope to replace my strap and buckle on my climbing sticks, What size rope do you recommend I use to create that Swabish hitch, And do I buy a continuous loop to do this? Any chance you’d be kind enough to link the item to me in your response so I know where I can purchase it?? And how long should this continuous loop be? You’re right if I’m gonna make the modification I may as well do it the right way the first time being a newbie I do think this is the best way to go thank you for the video

I just got the xL. I feel like the tender is too far away from the swabisch hitch and it doesn’t let me get it very tight before camming over the platform. I have a ton of space between the tree and the stand-off and have to toe cam a couple times. Then when I went to release the swabisch, there was no way I could release it with two fingers like you did. It seems to cave in the amsteal rope making the hitch hard to move. I haven’t tried the trucker’s hitch method yet.
So on the continuous loop of amsteel that makes up the Schwabisch… where the locking brummel is… that locking brummel knot can sometimes make it hard to slide.
Does the USA stick attachment work as well as the USA pro for sticks as far as holding them tight to the tree? I would like to eliminate the extra fiddle factor of the Pro for my sticks if the non-Pro model holds just as tight. Thanks.
You simply put the Schwabisch loop to wards the side of the tree, then wrap your mainline under the versa button, over the top, and then thru your schwabisch loop, back around your Versa button and tie a half hitch.
OK, so the original USA was last year’s version. There are only two versions available right now and that is on the Etsy site or eastern woods outdoors. Both models come with the Schwabisch hitch and the beast tender..
@@platinumpursuitoutdoors ok thanks. I just ordered gen 3 one stix today and I'm wanting something better than the buckle strap that comes with the predator and I can't stand the versa strap as those daisy chains never lined up and couldn't ever get it tight enough. So I'm thinking of going with the original USA stand/platform strictly for the platform. I'm looking at them now.
Ok so I figured it all out. Getting the new USA pro platform However, it is thicker and heavier than the stick USA. Could I use the stick USA for a platform? Is it a safety issue?
The Stick USA has a rating of 320 pounds I believe. I don’t think it’s a weight rating. I do know it has been mentioned that sometimes the Amsteel wants to “roll” on the tree and the larger diameter helps to prevent that. However I have used both. I am currently using the XL for my platform. I do think the beast tender works slightly better in the stick models.
You’re right, instead of using the term XL like they did on the original, he just went ahead and listed the stick for the stand model. In the previous models, the XL represented the stand model. Hey, I’m glad we finally got this worked out lol. Good luck to you.
I’m sure you could do it, I’m just not sure it would be much more convenient than using the dynaloc tab itself. When I get back from Missouri, I can mess around with it and let you know what I think?
I have used both of the USA offerings. I went with the larger one, but I removed the beast tender, and I essentially use the truckers hitch method. I have used them all though.

Nice man! Good luck and thx for stopping in!
I’ve watched this Video many times now and purchased the USA pro b by because of it…once again great job bud!
Nice man! Good luck to you!
Thanks for the review(s), great presentation and shared detail.....bought some standard USA's today (stick attachments).
You’re welcome. Thx for stopping in!
Great video Aaron!
Hey thx!
The pro is the way to go. Your first swabbish, feed it through its self, makes it even quicker. That way all you have to do is grab it and go.
For a platform, do you prefer the USA XL "pro" model to the regular version? Wondering if the extra tightness of the pro is significant enough to justify the extra steps & fiddle factor of feeding the line back though the 2nd prussic knot?
I am only using the one with the single prusick and that works good for me.
I tried reaching EWO but they are very swamped never answer the phone, You said there was another guy to get this stuff from called Etsy Amsteel? Is there a link for the site or a phone number thanks again for the great video
Yes, look up the amsteel guy on Etsy
like to find out more about using amsteal for my climbing while hunting
Let me know how I can help.
I live in north Dakota and not findi ng where I can get that type of climing ropes up here. And stuck with polly rope works but collapses when squeezing on it.
I either bulk order you some from www.easternwoodsoutdoors.com or get it from the Amsteel guy.
Add a castration band to the loop end to hold it
Thx for stopping in! Good luck this season.
Same to you also 🦌
Do you feel like the pro series is worth getting over regular for the sticks? Or doesn’t the regular work well enough? Great video.
I personally use the regular. If I felt I needed to, I could use the truckers hitch on the regular also. I have found double wrapping the tree suffices most times. For the sticks, I haven’t felt the need to use the pro.

If you did a 1/4 rope I would go with an 1/8” continuous loop. I think if you made it eight or 9 inches that would suffice.
You can buy a continuous loop or make your own.

Excellent review. Looks like a solid option. Is the USA itself available at EWO too?
Yes it is available there.

Man not sure. Is the knot on the Schwabisch touching the mainline? Sometimes that can cause some problems.
@@platinumpursuitoutdoors don’t k ow what you mean.

Can you use the same regular USA that you use on the sticks on the platform as well?
I have. They can work. I would use the truckers hitch.
@@platinumpursuitoutdoors ok thank you. Also, Great video content and well put together, keep up the good work!
Hey thx!
Could you run this on a ds .5 and tie hook it
I think it would be similar.

I have not had any troubles with the regulars holding tight. Also, you could still utilize the truckers hitch on the regulars if you wanted to.

Which one do you prefer if I just want to wrap one time, attach, and then pull tight. No double wrapping
I would use either. The amsteel guy recommends the larger size for the platforms.
So the swavish and beast tender come with the original USA xl? I'm confused

Yes.. NONE of the current models are full bury. The XL’ are referring to the Platform models. The “non” XL’s are referring to the stick models.

Is the main line full bury?
Main line.
@@platinumpursuitoutdoors the schwabisch or prusik isn’t?
I’m sorry maybe I miss understood you. The mainline isn’t a full bury. The Schwabisch has some full bury in it to make the continuous loop.
Cant stand when people say own no just ON
Not sure I’m following. Help me understand.
Huh?
These are all unnecessary complications of the standard rope mod.
That’s why I like options. There’s something for everyone.

I have used both of the USA offerings. I went with the larger one, but I removed the beast tender, and I essentially use the truckers hitch method. I have used them all though.
