This is arguably the best song they ever made, even if people have different favourites, this one is always somewhere at the top. And in my opinion Mutter is so their best album. Every song on it is so well written, after that they started experimenting more, which isn't bad by any means, but Mutter is like the holy grail, the realest Rammstein you can get.
This Song was written as an Entry Song for the Ukrainian World Champion Boxer Vitali Klitchko. Thats why they count up to 9 and than "out". Also the intended use of the Song has to start a riot in any Area. You cant use a Folk Song for such an Event. The Video is cool but has'nt anything to do with the Text nor the use of the Song. The Video works, but the Storyline is SO different. In the making of of "Steh auf" from Lindemann, the Director explained a similar procedure: You can do a Video in two ways: Cut some fitting Pictures to the Song and support the Song or do something total, total, total different. Thank God, Rammstein has done the second one: Snow-White and an Entry Song for a Boxer.... North and Southpole cant be further away from each other.
In the Making Of they mention the song being made for a boxer but I did not associate the counting to 10 part, which makes perfect sense. Yeah, I get what you're saying about the song and the folk tale being black and white, especially when associated with boxing, LoL!

May be you are lost in translation because the lyrics are very poetic and hard to translate.

It's so great! You did an amazing job :) Translating their songs into English is really though. And that one word that was wrong was based on the video of an *actual* German teaching German through Rammstein songs 😂 (Laut=loud, "and the world counts loud to ten") And it doesn't really have any impact on the meaning anyways 😊

The video is about a codependency, you know that, or that person hurts you and you still can't live without them. In the end Snow White wakes up and everything will be worse. If in the future you react to the song Deutschland, pay attention to the official video because it has a lot to do with this song, in it they talk about their country as Snow White is, at the end of the song Sonne sounds in his piano version.

My mistake! I used a German English teacher who translates the songs called Vlog Dave and I jus typed what he said it was. I do my own translation now though
@@educatedmarine Usually he is pretty good though, think this one was a fluke. You could keep on using him and then just control check it with a different translation? I haven't seen any other mistakes in your videos, so you do a thorough job in my opinion 😊

Fortunately i'm also very proficient in the german language and also familiar with a decent part of german history and such. All i am saying is: a song that was created as entrance music for a boxer and later repurposed based on a disney movie and on grimms fairytale might not be as deep as a socio-economic commentary.
