With all the negative post and videos, thank you for sharing the positive side. I am scheduled to start next week ECT treatment. What people need to learn is those who have never been in treatment resistant depression is not to post negative thoughts. When I had 28 sessions of TMS and not one bit of help. I never told others about my experience. Just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it will not work for others.
@@apriljoymansilla Thank you for reading. I am a bit nervous. I believe the good out weighs the bad. I have also noticed most of videos that are negative comes from years ago. Todays treatment are either unilateral or bilateral. I have read all I could about ETC. So with the advice of my Psychiatrist and me trying over 15 meds 28 sessions of TMS. I am looking forwards to a brighter future.

I had a family member receive ECT back in the 1970s or 80s and she said that she had to take her shoes off for the treatment. I was a kid then and didn't pay much attention to anything else she said, but depression seems to hit the females in that side of the family hard.
How long did the positive results last? I smoked weed for 20 years and had no depression until one day i had a panic attack so i quit. I went to rehab and was happy in there, some things mad me sad about the past but there was no depression and then i got out and my depression hit me like a truck. Im stuck in absolute hell. Ive been hospitalized about 6 times after suicide attempts and the meds aren't working so they want me to do ECT but I'm scared. I think I'll try TMS and ketamine first. Thanks for the video.
I had ECT in 2015 and I have been well since . I understand that feeling and it is a very difficult spot to be in .Honestly I wish I had ECT when they first mentioned it in 2013 but I thought it would do damage to me, so I understand being scared. I am wishing you well ,we all deserve to feel better .

Some, but I can't really say if it was from ect or from being in a depression so long .Right after there is short term but I'd rather that than depression. Hope that helps!

Have you memory propblems after the ect?
Some, but I can't really say if it was from ect or from being in a depression so long .Right after there is short term but I'd rather that than depression. Hope that helps!
