I like this build a lot. It sounds like your client knew exactly what he wanted his van to do and it definitely looks like you delivered. Thank you for sharing.
What no one is commenting on that manual bed leveling system?! OMG, that is some next level stuff. Also thanks for the photos of the ARB compressed air system. A lot of engineering to get air to the tires, impressive. I would have wanted the bed to be a little higher so I could have more storage for toys and stuff. Going to the desert with no AC? I guess you can install in the future. Not a fan of the dark wood interior, reminds me a little of a production RV interior but taste is subjective. Overall incredible workmanship and attention to detail. I hope to afford one when I win the lottery.
This is _gorgeous._ I think my wife and I are going to be coming out to see you in the next year or two, rather than looking for someone local. Particularly after watching so many of your videos. The detail, the craftsmanship, the skill and the immensely talented personnel. . .You are virtually unparalleled. It's also wonderful to be able to point at something like *this build* and say, _"We want this almost exactly, except in a ___________ chasis."_
This is absolutely flawless! I need this one laid out like this, but with 4x4 and with pop outs like the revel. 🤔. I’m going to go full time due to my job and theoretically I could use the 4x4 van to make trail guides for my RUclips when I leave the Jeep somewhere else. I’ll be checking your website out!
Have seen the other video's about build pocess and the build quality and finish looks really great. But if you find it hard to build a 140 with a GVWR of 9000lbs, try building a 170 under 7000lbs... Over here in Europe the weight limit is 3.5t (normal drivers licence, no speed restrictions). So some builders do quite a lot of R&D for exotic materials and try to find innovative solutions to keep weight down. Perhaps an idea for a future video: favorite/innovative solutions you have done for fullfilling client wishes?
This is one of my favorite ARV builds for sure. I wouldn't necessarily make the same design choices as this owner, but using the 4x4 2500 chassis as a base definitely appeals to me. I like to get out into the wild away from civilization and the extra weight of the 3500 would surely be a hindrance in that regard. I also like getting good fuel economy and less weight is always good for that. Well done!
I have been looking for a extended van ( the longest length would be great ) that I can live all four seasons much like this, ( solar panels) optimal storage, a a stacked washer/dryer unit, and has enough space to carry a small motorcycle ( like a cafe racer) , a collapsible bike, and a Segway scooter...can it be done @ Advanced RV? I'm currently saving for a van right now.
I haven't seen that glass (plexiglass??) partition behind the kitchen sink before when the sliding door is open. Very nice idea! But it sounds like you're not a fan of composting toilets. They offer a lot more camping freedom when you don't have to go out of your way to schedule in trips to dump stations.
Hi.. Do you think it would be possible to put a small drain that would be connected to the water tank used to flush, wash dishes etc.. It could collect rain water and therefore have even more independence of when off the grid??? Thank you
It's interesting to hear him talking about weight challenges in a 9000 lb vehicle, because most motor homes in Germany are only 7700 lbs (you'd need another license to drive anything heavier)
I don’t know if I missed it but how many gallons of fresh water does this van carry? Additionally, Mike, you don’t seem particularly excited about this build but it is the build of the future! The only thing I would ask for are dual wheels on the back for better weight capacity.
I agree with you.Hes a dualie and black tank guy. I don’t think this build is his cup of tea but for me it works . I’m not carrying around bricks so I don’t want to drag around all those tires and if I jump in the van for a weekend I don’t want to be winterizing and dumping a black tank for a quick trip.
He explained at the top that this owner's objective was to minimize weight for better offroad stability, so the 3500 (which is required for dual rear wheels) was not an option. Personally, I much prefer a lighter rig like this to a 5 ton behemoth that's very top heavy and certainly can't go too far offroad. It all depends on what type of travel you plan to do and that's a very individualized thing. As for Mike's lack of excitement, this just isn't the type of coach ARV is use to building. I suspect it probably involved a lot of challenges and produced a smaller than usual profit, given that there are very few expensive options on this van.
Like all Advanced RV builds - it's impeccable... I attribute a lot of this to their cabinet making department - very good.... is it really OK to have a Van without air conditioning? But what is the cost of this Van? You have a lot of people guessing... Please let us know... thanks
Absolutely brilliant, you guys are streets ahead of us in the UK. Can i ask? Are you finding less people bothering with solar in favour of bigger battery banks and alternator charging?
Thank you for your kind words. Each client brings unique objectives so that's a tough question. But yes, many clients are choosing to forego solar. Even with sparse driving, 800+ AH of Lithium and an auxiliary alternator provides sufficient off-grid energy. Foregoing solar also gives our clients flexibility with their rooftop equipment.
@@4irons - But why not both? Unless it is full, dark shade, the solar panels can still generate electricity. As he drives from one location to another, the solar panels would often be in full sun. A portable panel is subject to wind damage and can easily be stolen.
@@wendyweaver8749 When he drives, the alternator does much better job recharging lithium batteries then any solar. They did not show the roof, but my guess is that it has storage system on top for bulky items which would prevent large solar panels from being setup.
My preference would be, have grey tank only (dealing with black water is gross), and instead of Natures Head style separator type toilet, go with a nice 5 gallon Yeti bucket with a garbage bag liner and toilet seat and lid, and use kitty litter. Line a few inches of litter at bottom, then a small scoop between uses to cover waste. Use clumping style litter, pretty cheap. Have a spray bottle with water, lemon, vinegar mixture to spray liner as needed after each use. Then after a week or two when bucket near full, tie up bag and discard with regular garbage.
Great work :-). Can you let me know details about the two water tanks shown on a picture in the video? Where did you source them? If made by yourself, especially the greywater tank looks like that, would you share the details? Starting an own conversion right now and haven’t found properly fitting tanks yet with maximized space usage...

I really want to see a 144 in which the sliding door and the passenger seat don't exist. instead of the passenger seat, you have entrance steps. the space normally occupied by the sliding door aperture would be occupied by extra galley worktop space. wonder whether ARV would take on such a concept?
@@AdvancedRV thanks fo the feedback. I may have posted a link to the following video ruclips.net/video/gQVAL39ymKI/видео.html this shows a heavily modified Sprinter, where the passenger door has been converted to a bus coach type door and the sliding door seems to have been condemned. the company is Auto-Cuby, based in Poland.
I've seen multiple ARV vans with the espar heater control in this location. Do you have to get out and open the rear doors to make temperature adjustments?
The Espar module you're seeing in the rear of the van is mainly for maintenance, reading service codes, etc. Any temperature adjustments can be made inside of the coach, using the coach management system.
What happen if one of these get into a car accident? will insurance company pay for all the damages inside and outside? including plumbing, furniture, shower, toilet etc...
I wud prefer to use that top kitchen drawer for my cutlery etc. Why waste that space when I'm probably going to open a cutlery drawer 12x a day versus 2x for cook top.
Thanks for the support Joshua. Our full-custom builds such as Gayle generally range from $250,000 to $350,000, depending on the materials, customization, and engineering involved. These prices include the cost of the chassis, although we do have clients who source and provide their own chassis.
I always look at the price first in the comments before watching the video. Anyone can throw money and make a grand design. If it's over $100K for a small rig, then you have to think thrice about the value of it and how much you will use it to get your money's worth.
Except this one doesn't look like the inside of an airplane with beige molded fiberglass everywhere. Gail has beautiful warm wood that gives it an elegant yet organic look compared to the Revel, I think.
He mentioned a lagun table mount but they didn't show it. I would hope it would be close to the passenger chair with swivel, maybe the end of the kitchen cabinet.
