DO WE MAKE IT?! - Mercedes Sprinter on a Jeep Trail - Winnebago RV 4x4 Camper

- This was a blast and certainly the roughest trail I've ever driven in a Van - keep in mind I have not driven a capable solid axle 4x4 van and I still would love to build one and push the limits someday. For independent front suspension and how great the Sprinter handles on the road, I really was impressed!

It's about time someone did this! People like the idea of a 4x4 sprinter, but very few will actually use it.
We have done quite a few trails like this in our 4x4 sprinter. We are starting to see it take its toll when we maybe push it too much some days. It’s definitely capable. Sometimes we wonder IF we should be there but it’s fun to know it can.
Just finished part of the AZPT which nearly broke us. Hahah. Cool video.
At last, someone has actually shown what a sprinter can do instead of gravel. Nice work!
You have done more offroading in a $150,000 RV than most have done in a $40,000 pickup truck.
Now that's a real off-road video for a 4 x 4 van
Man it's so nice to see people actually wheel in their 4 wheel drive vehicles that they build out, Wish more folks actually did that. Can't wait to see the mobicon once you're finished, Hopefully I'll have my new camper rig built and finished by then And meet you boys in April/may down that way if the border opens.
Nice to see it pushed to some limits. More than enough offroad for most people for sure.
Nice! One of the few van off-road videos that tested the limits. Well done!
Man the Sprinter did a pretty good job 👍🏻
I see you in like every video
Swimmeralex4 only in the good ones....haha 😂👍🏻
Amazing! Note to self; Don't buy a used four x four Sprinter van conversion!!!
Hahaha, yes if guys like them got it before it might be a bad idea.
You'd need almost $150k first
They aren't true 4x4, that's the main reason I'd never buy one. 35F/65R power split. Even a truck bed camper setup on an old Tacoma is twice as capable, at 1/10th the price.
@@lllllllllllllllllllll1lll1capable is a relative term. You're not blowing our minds with your truck/sprinter comparison. Obviously the truck is a better off-road vehicle, but the van is a better living vehicle. The van is more capable of being a home on wheels that can also tackle some trails. The truck isn't. The van also has a lot of other desirable features. Jesus.
@@spec24 Yep, this is the choice to make. Drive up really tough trails and sleep in a tent and otherwise tough it (it might be pretty hot or cold) while relaxing and hanging out. Or drive up less tough trails and have a comfortable and easy time in a warm, dry van where one can stand and walk around.
Wow! Great to see the off road capability of the Sprinter Revel!
You and this guy need two more videos you guys are a great combo bro🤙🏽🤙🏽💯💯
Absolutely the best video review. Rather then a parking lot walk thru. Thumbs up guys ! 👍
So amazing what Mercedes Benz Sprinter can do.
The way this guy uses his sprinter, no need to get scratches fixed, just diamond coat the whole body.
I love sprinter vans !! Ths was awesome !!
Have a safe blessed day! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great video and free PR for Winnebago Revel and Mercedes’ 4x4. Can’t wait for whatever the future holds.
How high were these guys 😂
🤣🤣
About 20,000 evo
Kyle My thought exactly, that’s some silly video.
Mike Mantho Stupidety at its best
You guys crack me up. Keep up the good times
feel like im watchin my buddies have a good time!
Love watching your shows and definitely keep up with the Fun shenanigans👍👍
Wow! Didn’t know a heavy Sprinter Class B could do that! But that traction control is very old technology. BMW, Mercedes and Audi have had it since they went computerized a while back. GM and other American companies as well. My first was a 1995 Chevy Caprice Police car (the best one I ever had! Was a steel wheel PD version of their SS Impala). First I ever owned was a 1997 Chevy Lumina. Is good in loose rocks, dirt in my Z71 but can have you walking for a tractor in the mud! Luckily GM has a button you press and hold for 10 seconds, or just put it in 4wd Low. My friend is on the verge of unloading a Ford 4x4 (Quigley) E350 for a new AWD Transit. I am definitely sending him a link to this video! Damn!!!
Cool looking rig. 🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐
No biggy! I can prove it!
I have the same problem with Tesla. I don't like the brake system being used to control traction. I'd rather have real lockers. I was thinking about building an off-road C class RV. Then you show me these places & trails it may not fit in. Then there are the big 8x8 vehicle platforms. I still have a lot to think about, but this was a big help. Thank you.
That looked like a fun adventure! :D
Would you mob this trail in a 4x4 van?!
Hell to the yeah! ⛰️🚐🏞️
Dude you did it.... im impressed
Absolutely! I take my old VW Vanagon Syncro Westy on roads like that every chance I get. I sometimes think about getting a Sprinter to have something more reliable and with A/C, but I actually prefer the smaller size of the Vanagon -- It fits between tight trees on jeep trails better than the Sprinter would.
Right cool 4x4 , just what i need no more sleeping in a ⛺ and the best part no neighbors
You guys are a bad influence on each other I normally hate reality TV but keep it up, youse guys are entertaining.
I got to hand it to the Germans, they do make great 4x4 vans.👍
Hey man love your channel. Be safe. Peace.🇺🇸
Awesome episode!!!
My cup of Gnar hath been filled!
Thanks!
CRAZY SWEET!!!!!!! Great rig
Did he say down to moobs?
THAT MULLET, yes the caps were needed.
Looks,like such a great t8me. I miss desert running.
Soy tu fan
Awesome video. So many questions. Stock suspension? Did you air down? 4LOW the whole time? Amazing to watch you guys absolutely go right after it. And the hillbilly pinstripes to show for it! Totally rocking. Thanks!
Respect 👍
Nice job. Goes to show you how far you can get if you don’t care much about damage. I Can’t say how many times I’m in a back country AZ road and here comes someone in a Nissan Sentra
LOL I don’t see anywhere I would have put my Gladiator into 4WD but for an Amazon delivery van it was darn impressive.
Sweet Jamming Up Vid my friends and it was what I was looking (thinking about) " I wanted to see a Camper/Truck 4x4'n and that rock crawling was super but that side-stepping @ 9:51 was the make, year and model ! Got to go watch more...
You are stupid funny at the end of video :) I admire the courage of taking RV off road that is crazy never thought what happen I get stuck who’s come to the rescue a RV in middle of nowhere kudo!!!
Same people who come to rescue a truck/jeep when it gets stuck.
Great job! Good to see these beautiful vehicles in the dirt! My future ride!
They should come from the factory with rhino liner as the exterior paint. Then you don't get upset about pinstripes on the trail
Hope you didn’t bring any wineglasses 🤪 awesome vid 👌🏻
Love seeing people with more money than sense destroy a trail....real nice
Love seeing people mob vehicles that aren’t the typical mobbing rigs. life is too short to have perfect paint 😂
for me the most important thing about this van is that it is very narrow and very high and that is because of the rear-wheel drive. This Camper has in the rear windows some added protrusions to be able to sleep wide that you can buy it from the factory but if you want to camperize it then you hold on and you have to sleep along losing interior space. Being so high in size it has a double entrance step and about 18 cm more total height with which the wind and the wobbling become very very evident to solve this in the times we are going it would not be wrong to apply the technology of the Toyota 4x4 that is front-wheel drive and two electric motors that go to the rear wheels and thus does not have as much height of the ground or the height total of the body and of course it would be necessary to put a hybrid engine that it is time for Mercedes to savvy to the times that run.
Jesus, talk about rambling word dump.
Hey guys, love those levelling blocks, could you please let me know what brand etc., and where you can get them, thank you in advance.
It looks totally stock? What about airing down the tires for the off road trail
Going up that stuff without armor? I’m glad you made it, but that is sketchy to do. If you hit bottom on your oil pan or diff out there, you’re done.
I have never met anyone that paid $150,000 for a camper van and then abused it that much??? That shit reeks havoc on an RV!
I’m sure what they were doing with that sprinter van wasn’t good for the vehicle. Even though it’s a 4x4, the suspension, axels, and general weight of the van are not suited for serious off-roading. With that being said I’m extremely surprised at how well the sprinter van preformed on those rocky and gnarly slopping trails! So maybe wrong. Personally if that was my van I wouldn’t risk hurting the vehicle or possibly getting stuck by driving on that type of terrain but that’s just me. I would feel a whole let safer driving a Jeep or a truck on those type of roads. What ever the case might be, they definitely pulled it off and they did it well!
Rental van ? 🤣
@@nathanwabre Awesome! Reminds me of the new “No Bail Laws, lol”!!!
You think a 170 wheel base will be able ? With the right lift and tires ?
when you see the damage to the paint, you understand why some go for that sandpaper-like one...
When resaling: only 10k miles light use lol
What up phil i love your videos i live in Prescott i hope to come across you guys on the trail. I go to that same spot in perkinsville all the time with my travel lite rayzr. Also i think happy trails lives next door to my cousin's house i see the revel there all the time.
good driver, I`m impressed. I thought the Revel would be too heavy for that terrain.
I think you guys have upped the ante to TFL Trucks on this off road adventure 👍👍
Hi Phil & Koda
woah, serious offroading + serious monkeybiz! nice one, boyz!
Impressive
Dang bro we ain’t right 😂😂
Who needs skid plates anyway?
..looks like it's a full time 4x4!
Great video the guy in the black shirt looks like the brother of "Big Boy" (that youtube star)
You guys made my day ! Keep mobbing lol
Camera hides the steepness. Did I see a couple bears on that trail?
Wait u til you go to Mercedes for repair or maintenance, the most ridiculous service charges
Did he just do the Heidi N Closet 'sssoft and sssuple'??? :D
n1! well done
Perkinsville?
My 2020 sprinter has been in the shop more than on the road😰
Cringing the whole time. I have a very similar 4x4 but it's the 170 wheel base. I wonder how different the 4x4 capabilities are between the short and long wheel bases? Don't think I would try that but very happy to see what these vans can do.
extremely similar, better and worse in some scenarios
'Pinstrip' ... heh, that's a good idea! maybe seriously use a contrast colour to bring it out while still protecting the metal under. THIS mah VAN! and I did THAT! ****points2custompinstrip'n****
Looks like Arizona.
Nice. Looks almost as capable as a subaru!
bit of sidewall damage on drivers side front tyre at 11.09
All for the mullet wearing cool dude bro
How much does a setup like this cost u if u install everything urself? just so i have a clue how much i have to safe for that.
Give it the g wagon 4wd system, and proper skid plates
whats the piece of plastic you put under the tires?
What kind of antenna is mounted on the roof?
Company vehicle?
Rental?
Yup, definitely a rental.
His friend happy,s van
Great video? Does that thing have a low range gearing?
Were you guys doing this with full fresh water tank?
Lift up the suspension a little, than you may see the new world.
(You cannot increase the tire size but can lift the body)
What? Of course you can increase the tire size! Plenty of people running 35's on the Sprinter.
How’s the rear dif on that after that climb
Do you have locking diff? I got to 4th minute and no solid info yet...
Do you have low range?
That is German Quality. Best in Europe
what does down to mob mean?
Can you share your google track?
This is not your grandfather's winabago
Man don't do this, now I'm unsure again if i want to overland in a landcruiser or a sprinter...
Dude! Bro! Let's totally mob. Hey bro let's drink a monster totally.
How did you find it in full sand?
What was that box on the dash?
How can you run the a/c off that and how long.
Why do you guys comment on videos making these guys rich when they don't even have the decency to interact?
It would help to take off those *&^#$@ running boards.
What river is that?
