Great song and lesson for an early intermediate player. . My true beginner students, though, are learning basic open chords, very simple strumming patterns, before progressing to this. Maybelle Carter and also The Cowboy Ramblers played this very similarly. They weren’t exactly beginners.
Thanks! I agree, while this is sort of a beginner tune, this is too much for an absolute beginner. I wouldn't give this to someone who was just learning to strum and play chords.
Willie Nelson does this sone most every concert. His sounds completely differnt than your melody - go listen to his in a live concert... and that's all I got to say about that
You obviously don't know what you are talking about. The melody is the same. I just watched two Willie videos to be certain. Just remember that this guy is doing it in a slightly different style and he never went over the second half of the song. But all in all they are VERY similar.
