    I'm a 63 year old Scotsman and,I can assure you it was Bob Seger, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison and Mr Dylan who got me through my life up to now, outstanding story tellers in song, great reaction too

      Awwwww don't forget Bob's idol and inspiration, your fellow Scotsman, Frankie Miller!! Bob covered Frankie's Ain't Got No Money for his Stranger In Town album, 1978 ~ Bob had mad respect for Frankie ~ Their vocal similarity is uncanny...

    Probably the sweetest, most melodic gravelly voice, out there. And man could he write the words and deliver them with emotion. NO ONE does melancholy and regret like Bob Seger. The number of times I (and many many of you reading this) have cried while staring out a window, looking at the ceiling, or driving faster than we should have, while listening to Bob's songs over and over is something we probably don't want to share. A true legend

    Bob Segers Night Moves is just epic.

    Seger said, “The chorus just came into my head, I was driving around in the Hollywood Hills, and I started singing .. I went back to my rented house, and there was a Time magazine with Cheryl Tiegs on the cover. I said ‘Let’s write a song about a guy from the Midwest who runs into someone like this & gets caught up in the whole bizarro thing’”. I saw Bob Seger in 1976 open for KISS with Ted Nugent!! What an amazing songwriter!! I grew up with his music!!

    I suggest Travelin’ Man / Beautiful Loser live. This version was the one they played on the radio. Most of the best stuff by him is his live stuff. I mean it’s all great. The Silver bullet live album is one of the best out there. Kinda like the J. Geils Band. Hope you jump into them soon?!

    I love the short guitar chords at 3:03 and 3:04. That and the three notes from the piano at 2:46 I always wait for each of them when I play this one. And I always have a picture of the kid in my head standing by his car all by himself looking down at LA thinking, "what do I do now?"

  • @Jessica_Roth
    @Jessica_Roth 11 месяцев назад +1

    I LOVE this song! This is my favorite of Bob's Big Hits (juuuuuuuust edging out "Feel Like A Number") and I adore when my LA Kings play it as their victory song. For a long time, this was my favorite Bob Seger song.
    UNTIL…I discovered that Bob (and his manager, Punch Andrews) were ashamed of his struggles before his 1975 break-through, and had done their damnedest to bury his first *seven* albums. Not re-released, never on CD, probably not on Spotify.
    Which is a pity…because, I think the early stuff is *better* . Not just better than that damn truck commercial song, but better overall. But nobody plays it.
    Could I get you to take a flyer on "2+2=?" or "Death Row" or "Lucifer" or "Railroad Days" or "Someday" or "Back in '72" or "Twenty Years from Now"? That's one from each of those 7 albums, albeit "Death Row" was actually the B-side to "2+2=?" and the best version of "Someday" is from the 1974 Live album in Denver, since Bob adds a killer guitar solo that's not on the studio version.
    Give them a spin, please.
    Thanks for all your work.
