The guy is so genuine. He isn't dying his hair, or painting his nails. U get Bob, nothing more nothing less
One of the best!! I'd eat dinner with him anytime.
True but he got those big unnatural looking fake choppers. I don't know why these rock guys do it. Looks horrible
He may have bad teeth and got implants. I doubt it was to look cool.@Kgio-2112
@@Kgio-2112When he sang at the 2006 World Series, he got a lot of criticism for his bad teeth. That was before the dental work he has in this video.
There's an interview on later with Bob Costas that pops up as a suggestion after this video, he's dying his hair in that one (and on the cover of the greatest hits record).
A good man, a great song writer, an American treasure, a living legend. Fantastic!!!
The ultimate American Rock voice...
I'd be honored if some Bob Seger fans would take a quick listen to my low-fi acoustic piano & vocal YT performance of WE'VE GOT TONITE in tribute to the boss of Detroit Rock City. Live acoustic with no autotune. Peace and stay safe in the '020s.
Arguments can be made for Petty, Mellencamp and Springsteen. But those are the top four.
One of the Best ever in Rock history 🙌 ❤️
One of the greatest singers in Rock&Roll history, if you don't like Bob Seger you don't like Rock&Roll.
Agree 💯
TRUE!!
🎶Just take those old records off the shelf. I'll sit and listen to them by myself. Today's music ain't got the same soul. I like that old-time rock n roll.
What you know about Ann Arbor Michigan 😉🟡🔵
@sun
You nailed it...!!
Trying so damn hard not to tear up over that. My late grandmother's birthday is on Thursday, and she actually introduced me to Bob Seger and the silver bullet band as a kid. Reading this, hearing the song, I can hear her singing it.
That song is in career hell now.
@Ad_lo2105 what you know about Ann Arbor Michigan 😉🟡🔵
My favorite musician/singer of all time! Those were the days my friends!
How many times you been to Ann Arbor?
I'd be honored if some Bob Seger fans would take a quick listen to my low-fi acoustic piano & vocal YT performance of WE'VE GOT TONITE in tribute to the boss of Detroit Rock City. Live acoustic with no autotune. Peace and stay safe in the '020s.
Bob Seger is one of the greatest of all time here from the the USA.
I live in Michigan and always say Bob Seger is ours and we are his.
That is how strongly he is loved here by his fans.
His music is just incredible.
Such a gift he shares.
God Bless Bob Seger!
Thank You Very, Very Much!
That's right, man! Detroiter here too... cheers!
In Dec 2006 Bob Segar performed in Atlanta. On the way to the concert, all lanes 85 south were stopped. We were frenzied thinking our night was ruined but there was a radio announcement that Bob Seger would start his show 1 and a half hrs later to allow for his fans to arrive.
It was such a spontaneous gracious act of kindness.
Insane singing voice...that raspy blues/rock voice. Perfect. Very unique
I grew up in Windsor Ontario and Bob Seger was the sound track to our childhoods, and we wouldn't of wanted it any other way. Still the best artist to see in a live show today....and I'll fight anyone over that fact.
What a legend ❤️
My friends and I are getting up in the years, I'm 57. When we go see shows now, we try to see groups that are older, and are coming to the end of their careers. We call them "bucket list shows". A few years ago we saw Bob and the SB band in Dayton, Ohio and the show was amazing. The startling thing wasn't how great they sounded, but all the material. Songs that you hadn't heard in a awhile, but knew every lyric. Such an amazing singer and song writer.
I'm 53, and a few years ago, I made a list of performers I wanted to see before either they passed or I did. The best one, that it was really his last hurrah, was Merle Haggard. Saw his show from the third row. It was everything I needed it to be. Sadly, B.B. King was a let down.
58 and i saw them a couple years ago. Blew my doors off and it was truly one of the best shows ive ever been to.
American treasure
One and only Bob Seger ... thank you for sharing.
That station was CKLW out of Windsor Ontario. I met Mr. Seger at my eldest brothers high school graduation party.
He was playing guitar while sitting on the fireplace mantle.
👍 CKLW
My favorite Bob Seger song is “East Side Story” by Bob Seger and the Last Heard from 1966!
Great to have Bob still around and I'm still listening to his music. I grew up listening to the Motown sensation and Seger back in the 60's. Thanks for a wonderful ride Bob! From a Vietnam Era Marine Corps veteran.
Thank you for your service!
One of my favorite rock 'n roll voices.
He recorded using the muscle Shoals rhythm section out of Alabama. They produced him and played on his records.
Seger is more talented than every “rapper”
and “hiphopper” in history…
combined.
Bob Seger had some smooth night 🌙 moves.
He'd been workin' on 'em
He had to "Get Out of Denver."
Like a rock
Turn the page….
@@ItelknerWorking and practicing!
Sorta feel like I was raised by Bob Seger. I am 59 and still listen to his jams!
I feel ya there... I'm 57 and when Bob came on the radio it was like a seasoned older brother mapping out what life was going to be like
another classic rock act that should have played the Super Bowl. Bob is Americana and his live shows were legendary. 🎸🎙️
Now that would be a Super Bowl half time I would NOT want to miss❤❤❤❤
Maybe if the lions ever get there. Close this past year. He sure would be better than the Taylor Swift fiasco.
wishful thinking about the Lions but he's been retired from performing since 2019. I think between 1980 and about 2007 he and the Silver Bullet Band would have been a great choice.
If Mr Bob Seger is not on your list of greatest male Rock singers ever ...then im calling the cops !
When my brother got divorced I had to hear "sun spot baby" over and over 😊
Little Victories - that is my personal divorce song. 😂
Love Bob. Seen him in concert many times. A true professional. Thank you Bob and the Silver bullet band.
Live Bullet is the number one live album in my book!
I can still tell you exactly where the skip is on Turn the page on that old double album
It’s a tie between Live Bullet and Cheap Trick Live at Budokan for me!
My high school and college days at U of Mich. Bob...the greatest. Humble to the core
Back when everyone was getting laid
This is a guy who is so talented, so personable and so giving. A true Michigan gem!
The best - his music is timeless
Ohh Bob!!!! I love your music!! I’m 40 years old and listen to you all the time still! Wish I could have seen you live but never got the chance.😞 People 20 years ahead of me can’t believe I know the lyrics and sing them to your songs! You’re my favorite
He played what I still regard as the single greatest concert I have ever attended. It would have been about 1979, in Detroit. They played for almost three hours, absolutely refusing to get off the stage, encore after encore. And it was, as the song says, old time rock and roll-no special effects, basic lighting, great sound and very high calibre showmanship.
I love Bob Seger. We're both from Detroit. He sang about me and my friends in his song "Horizontal Bop:"
"The pony cars are cruising on Woodward Avenue
Go and try to pass 'em, they'll smoke you if you do"
He was talking about me, cruising The Strip in the 70's.
Absolutely DETROIT, Thank you Bob for your musical talents and how you affected my life. You are ROCK N ROLL, and again, I just wanted to thank you Sir!!
It is impossible to drive the speed limit in some Detroit Muscle while listening and singing along to your music, it truly is euphoric!
The Bob Seger System.. 2+2 = ? One of the best anti war songs ever.
Great song heard it on Tom Petty's Buried Treasure
The music program from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, picked up in Detroit, was on Channel 9. It was called “Swingin’ Time” with Robin Seymour. Regular performances in the after school time slot from Motown artists, local bands, and national touring acts. We had no idea how special it was, but we loved it.
It was great growing up in the Metro Detroit area in the 60's and 70's with all the great music. The AM stations WKNR, and CKLW out of Windsor, and all the great Motown hits! I remember Robin Seymour and Channel 9, and Hockey Night in Canada!
Bob Seger is the BEST of all time!!!
The first time I saw Boston, four of us were on our way to the concert and someone said, “Anybody ever heard of this Silver Bullet Band opening up?”
Nobody had and we got completely blown away by the best opening act any of us had ever seen (and we had been to hundreds of shows). Shortly after that Night Moves hit the radio waves and EVERYBODY had now heard of them.
Wow, wow and wow.
Two great American classics together 😊
I have so much respect for this guy not only for his amazing music, but just for who he is. Thanks Bob for all you’ve given the world!
Bob is the best. His live shows are legendary.
1976 summer basketball practice, Inkster Michigan Cherry Hill high school. We played Live Bullet over the sound system to get us moving on those long, hot summer days up and down the basketball court.
Good memories.
what a great artist his music is the best to drive to
Especially "Get Out of Denver."
Best damn truck commercial EVER!! I was selling them when this came out that year. Our store sold 50% more trucks that year than any of the five previous years! That's a big increase!
As full of himself as he was, Glenn Frey( backup singer on Ramblin Gamblin Man,) revered Seger.
Bob was a co-writer of the Eagles' Heartache Tonight.
Nobody knew who Glenn Frey was so bob graciously let him sing backup. You can definitely hear his voice back there. He’s louder than everyone else.
I love Bob Seger and have been a fan of his music for 30 of my 51 years of life. I've seen him in concert 4 times and each time was amazing.
Thanks Bob, Windsor rocks. You're welcome back anytime.
Nah motor city man
The one concert I regret never going to. I kept saying I will see him next tour. Kick me.
You’re not alone buddy!
Same here. Never saw him live, but wish I would've.
I saw Seger in concert at about the time of this interview, and what he says here about the audience is true: all ages, from teens to geezers, dressed in everything from suits to rags. Great show, too.
So, it's Saturday morning and I'm at a buddy's house and we're listening to "Night Moves" album which he bought the night before at the mall ( remember those?). I was a fan from that very moment. His music was with me on that cold lonely highway at night thumbing a ride from Chanute to Champaign-Urbana. Best memory ever.
Being from Michigan - this man has been a part of my life since I was 11 years old (the year Ramblin' Gamblin' Man came out). I also have always been amazing that when you hear Bob talk, you can hear he singing. It's the same voice.
“He was a Midwestern boy on his own…” (Dave can relate to that, too).
I'm from Detroit and I'm old enough to remember Bob Seger's early songs that were only regional hits. Most people outside of the Detroit area never heard them. My favorite was Persecution Smith.
Never really heard of em then saw em open for j geils an kiss at roosevelt stadium in jersey an they kicked ass went out next an bought live bullet album
Bob Seger achieved national and international popularity in the mid 70's but he had regional success years earlier. Those of us in the Detroit area were enjoying his music long before the rest of the world discovered him. Check out his early recordings. You won't be disappointed.
Early in his career he played at the Mikatam lounge in Genessee, Michigan. Sat 400 people and wasn't quite sold out.
@@user-qd9fy8on4y full disclosure should acknowledge "The Multi-Million Dollar Mika-Tam," but I kid. My friends went there when it was a disco in the late 70s but I wouldn't make that trip to cross that line. As for Bob, being youngest of six kids, all of his early catalog was there to hear and I have always been impressed.
My favorite album is his Live Album!!!! My favorite song is "Cat Man Do"!!!! ❤❤❤❤ I loved this song when I was a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s!!!! I used to pretend I was the lead guitar player in Bob Segers band!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 Here I was playing "AIR GUITAR" rocking out in my bedroom listening to records!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Katmandu.......... Good night everybody!!!!
@debrachampagne7715 😀😀😀😀 I just Love that song!!!! 😍 ❤️
Your favorite song and you got the name wrong?
@@bossfan49 Yeah. My bad!!! Sorry. I love that song!!!
I saw him in Memphis in 1994. I have seen them all. Clapton, Page and Plant, Eagles, Crosby stills Nash, etc ---- Seger put on the best all around show I've ever seen. A real legend
"A new study found that men with beards are more attractive than men without beards. More great work from the University Of Bob Seger" - Norm Macdonald
Will tell our host.
i was working on a resturant in louisville kentucky when they released sunspot baby on the backside of a single , loved it and still do
No one can paint a story with their voice better than Bob Seger.
I've never had the opportunity to see Bob Seger live but I sure would love to. Some years ago I saw Ringo Starr's all-stars. They did a Little Help From My Friends. I noticed a young lady singing along and she was crying. She looked to be about 15. Good music is ageless.
Bob's a great guy and a real American treasure. His huge hit, "Night Moves" hit America like a ton of lead! I'm four years younger than Bob Seger, and his songs always take me back to a place and time that I took for granted. As the saying goes: "Youth is wasted on the young."
I loved how Bob instantly rattled off those great artist in mere seconds, just shows how much he loves music . Cheers 🇨🇦
Bob’s music (and his voice) is amazing.
When I was getting back into vinyl after 40 years away grabbing original copies of his albums was a must to build my collection.
I saw him in concert in the eighties and it was an amazing concert. He is a great songwriter and story teller.
“Roll Me Away” is the most perfect song ever written.
Been a huge fan of Bobs my entire life. I think he will out live us all
I saw the Silver Bullet Band with the Fabulous Thunderbirds opening in 1986. Saw them at the old Aud in Buffalo. The T-Birds did a solid rockin' 45 minutes that blew the roof off the Aud. they put the roof back on and Bob and the band did a blistering 2 and a half hour show that blew the roof right back off. After leaving the show, my three friends and I listed off about 24 other songs he could have done and still be a great show.
A True Rock and Roll LEGEND!!!! Love his music!
One of the best concerts I have ever seen. Bob is the best, rock on.
Still the same was my favorite song
He comes across as a really down to earth good guy and of course a great song writer and singer.
Ramblin' Gamblin' Man was one of my first 45s. Still love that song.
Bob is a musician's musician and an all around good dude.
One of the best performers I ever saw. It was sometime in the 70's, and his sax player came out at the back and top of the coliseum for Turn the Page. Pitch black, one spotlight on the guy, and never having seen a wireless used onstage before were blown away, in more ways than one I might add! I believe that's the tour that Sweet ( Ballroom Blitz ) fell apart and disintegrated on, they opened. Have smoked many days last cigarettes thinking about what she said...
Seen bob like four times in south Florida never disappointed, remember when he introduced a new song, old time rock and roll the first time I saw him rush was the opening band
Best concert I ever attended was Bob and the SBB many years ago.
When I watched the piece on "Muscle Shoals" the one studio said Seger was the most down to earth person that they worked with.
I saw that too. The guy said that as if wishing all those other singers and bands were like him. I've never ever come across anyone in an interview saying anything other than what a genuine nice, down to earth guy he is in real life. My all time favorite rock n roller. Happy 79th Bob!
BOB..... Come Back..... Rock and Roll Never Forgets...!!!
I take those old records off the shelf, I sit and listen to them by myself, todays music ain’t got the same soul, I like that old time rock N roll!
He didn’t write that that was brought to him by the muscle shores, rhythm section (the swampers )who produced and played on the first five years of his recordings and 50% of the recordings after that
To those wondering: no, Bob hasn't died. He will be 79 years old in May (2024).
Bob is just so awesome live
On a long lonely highway East of Omaha... I Love Bob's music saw him in concert and he opened for the Who in Chicago.
Turn the Page, one of my favorite songs ever. Wow! Bob and The Who ❤️
@@sunshinegirl1655Most times you can hear them talk, other times you can't.......
@debrachampagne7715 All the same old cliches...🙂
So many good memories listening to this music.
I'm going to try this one more time and see if RUclips will accept it.
Back in the early seventies I listened a lot of Bob Seger, BTO, Boston, well you get the ideal.
My dad grew up back in the depression and listen to a lot of country Bob Wills, Hank Williams, basically that's all he listens to is country, of course we are ranchers and farmers that's what I grew up on,
One morning my dad was heading out to fix fence, he asked me if he can use my truck, I said sure Dad, several hours later I went down to see if Dad needed some help, so I took the tractor and as I was rounding a corner about 100 yards from where he was working, I heard my 8-track player in my truck blasting open with Bob Seger, I walked up and said dad what are you listening to, dad replied damn that guy can sing.
Almost 50 years later as I listen to Bob Seger frequently I still remember my dad's words.
Bob Seger you've been an inspiration for millions of people, thank you for sharing your great talent and great music.
PS. I hope I have another 30 years on me I will still be listening to your music.
A young Bob. WOW vocals
When you look up the word LEGEND in the dictionary, you'll see a picture of Bob Seger.
I talked to mr Seger at a gas station in pelston Michigan and didn’t know who he was till my friend told me after he left I was so bummed
Total class act, and the music is timeless!
There were definitely all ages at his concerts. I had the privilege to take my daughter with me and a couple of friends to see him on his final tour ! As always, it was a great show and we had a blast ! Thank you for the music !
Hes okay, folks.
Saw him as an opening act for Fleetwood Mac and he blew them away, a long time ago
Cool. What year?
Listening to Seger since 78
So you're old like us
Been on it since the first single, “East Side Story” back in 1966. Good stuff. Bob has written some great tunes throughout the years.
@@NakotaKid-pf3jd let's not talk old we already know
Seger is special.
On my Mount Rushmore of Rock N Roll.
When you hear his name it provokes American Badassness!
Always will be the great Bob Seger 313 🔥
What about "The Last Heard?' Sawhim with Last Heard in 1967 in Saginaw Michigan, did great Motown hits.
I thought "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" was credited to The Bob Seger System.
@bossfan49 So did I
Legend...and I can't think of a single interview I've ever seen where he was anything less than joyful and 'real'.
Love Seger. Sublime midwest working class rock
I bought a Chevy Truck and loved that song. Hell This man could sing the yellow pages and it would be a hit record
I'm now 74 & still rockin with Bob!
3:26 Dave gives that old Jack Benny "seriously?" look ...
I would love to listen to Segar and Paul Shafer speak .
Mr Seger, you are almost 11 older than me, and I remember your first record, I still have it, and every one since then. Without you divulging that you donated your money to that crew, you are a great musician, a great person, and a stand-up guy! You are the Keanu Reeves of Rock and Roll .. or.. Keanu Reeves is the Bob Seger of acting! I like the latter. Thank you for the many songs, and memories associated with them! - Matt
I never saw him live. An older friend of mine saw him in St. Louis in the early eighties and still says that he was the best live concert in a lifetime of concerts!
To say this man paid his dues is an understatement. He believed in himself, even when Rosalie didn't. He kept at it and proved he knew music.
