The guy is so genuine. He isn't dying his hair, or painting his nails. U get Bob, nothing more nothing less
One of the best!! I'd eat dinner with him anytime.
True but he got those big unnatural looking fake choppers. I don't know why these rock guys do it. Looks horrible
He may have bad teeth and got implants. I doubt it was to look cool.@Kgio-2112
@@Kgio-2112When he sang at the 2006 World Series, he got a lot of criticism for his bad teeth. That was before the dental work he has in this video.
There's an interview on later with Bob Costas that pops up as a suggestion after this video, he's dying his hair in that one (and on the cover of the greatest hits record).
A good man, a great song writer, an American treasure, a living legend. Fantastic!!!
In Dec 2006 Bob Segar performed in Atlanta. On the way to the concert, all lanes 85 south were stopped. We were frenzied thinking our night was ruined but there was a radio announcement that Bob Seger would start his show 1 and a half hrs later to allow for his fans to arrive.
It was such a spontaneous gracious act of kindness.
Wow. Thats cool.
My favorite musician/singer of all time! Those were the days my friends!
How many times you been to Ann Arbor?
I'd be honored if some Bob Seger fans would take a quick listen to my low-fi acoustic piano & vocal YT performance of WE'VE GOT TONITE in tribute to the boss of Detroit Rock City. Live acoustic with no autotune. Peace and stay safe in the '020s.
Bob Seger is one of the greatest of all time here from the the USA.
@@detroyt232323I have been there a few times. I remember a friend showing me around Michigan's Campus. As we were driving, she pointed out a church that shared a building with a synagogue. It seems this is the only structure that holds this distinction in the world. Also, there is a music venue there called The Ark.
I live in Michigan and always say Bob Seger is ours and we are his.
That is how strongly he is loved here by his fans.
His music is just incredible.
Such a gift he shares.
God Bless Bob Seger!
Thank You Very, Very Much!
That's right, man! Detroiter here too... cheers!
Native Michigander here. Bob represents well
Indeed he does.
We are blessed with musical talent here in Michigan are we not.
I grew up in Windsor Ontario and Bob Seger was the sound track to our childhoods, and we wouldn't of wanted it any other way. Still the best artist to see in a live show today....and I'll fight anyone over that fact.
What about Burton Cummings/The Guess Who?
Insane singing voice...that raspy blues/rock voice. Perfect. Very unique
The ultimate American Rock voice...
Arguments can be made for Petty, Mellencamp and Springsteen. But those are the top four.
One of the Best ever in Rock history 🙌 ❤️
What a legend ❤️
One and only Bob Seger ... thank you for sharing.
One of the greatest singers in Rock&Roll history, if you don't like Bob Seger you don't like Rock&Roll.
Agree 💯
TRUE!!
Well said, and I would add that somebody that doesn't like Seger probably has something wrong with them. It is hard not to have a good day when you listen to Seger. The memories and parts of my life that his sings evoke, is just incredible, and I have never met the man, although I always feel like I have.
Seen him twice❤ both were the best concerts I've ever been to.
🎶Just take those old records off the shelf. I'll sit and listen to them by myself. Today's music ain't got the same soul. I like that old-time rock n roll.
What you know about Ann Arbor Michigan 😉🟡🔵
@sun
You nailed it...!!
Trying so damn hard not to tear up over that. My late grandmother's birthday is on Thursday, and she actually introduced me to Bob Seger and the silver bullet band as a kid. Reading this, hearing the song, I can hear her singing it.
That song is in career hell now.
@Ad_lo2105 what you know about Ann Arbor Michigan 😉🟡🔵
My friends and I are getting up in the years, I'm 57. When we go see shows now, we try to see groups that are older, and are coming to the end of their careers. We call them "bucket list shows". A few years ago we saw Bob and the SB band in Dayton, Ohio and the show was amazing. The startling thing wasn't how great they sounded, but all the material. Songs that you hadn't heard in a awhile, but knew every lyric. Such an amazing singer and song writer.
I'm 53, and a few years ago, I made a list of performers I wanted to see before either they passed or I did. The best one, that it was really his last hurrah, was Merle Haggard. Saw his show from the third row. It was everything I needed it to be. Sadly, B.B. King was a let down.
58 and i saw them a couple years ago. Blew my doors off and it was truly one of the best shows ive ever been to.
American treasure
I'm 61. First saw Bob Seger in the late 70s at Sherwood Forest in Davison Mi. Caught him on the final tour in Saginaw Mi a couple years ago. Amazing every time I saw him through the years. Forever greatful for the song track I have in my memories.
This is a guy who is so talented, so personable and so giving. A true Michigan gem!
Amen. 😊❤
What a great laugh Bob has, you can tell it comes straight from the heart...Awesome Man !!!
No one can paint a story with their voice better than Bob Seger.
Always loved Seger! Saw him every time he came to Cincinnati in the 70's. And I got to see one of his last concerts in 2017. Always a great time! A classic rocker who identifies with the working class.
I was blessed to see him twice - once in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the BOK Center (huge arena with phenomenal acoustics), and again in Nampa, Idaho at the Idaho Center (smaller venue). Both concerts were epic!!
Great to have Bob still around and I'm still listening to his music. I grew up listening to the Motown sensation and Seger back in the 60's. Thanks for a wonderful ride Bob! From a Vietnam Era Marine Corps veteran.
Thank you for your service!
I have so much respect for this guy not only for his amazing music, but just for who he is. Thanks Bob for all you’ve given the world!
Bob Seger is the BEST of all time!!!
I had the chance to meet him one on one for about 1/2hr in the late ‘80s. He was so genuinely nice! Down to earth, no higher than thou attitude, just as nice as can be.
One of my favorite rock 'n roll voices.
He recorded using the muscle Shoals rhythm section out of Alabama. They produced him and played on his records.
My high school and college days at U of Mich. Bob...the greatest. Humble to the core
Back when everyone was getting laid
I'm now 74 & still rockin with Bob!
That station was CKLW out of Windsor Ontario. I met Mr. Seger at my eldest brothers high school graduation party.
He was playing guitar while sitting on the fireplace mantle.
👍 CKLW
This guy is a living legend.
Love Bob. Seen him in concert many times. A true professional. Thank you Bob and the Silver bullet band.
lucky man
He is the best artist out there that sounds so good live
Best damn truck commercial EVER!! I was selling them when this came out that year. Our store sold 50% more trucks that year than any of the five previous years! That's a big increase!
Rick Vito played the slide solo on that track.
Sorta feel like I was raised by Bob Seger. I am 59 and still listen to his jams!
I feel ya there... I'm 57 and when Bob came on the radio it was like a seasoned older brother mapping out what life was going to be like
The first time I saw Boston, four of us were on our way to the concert and someone said, “Anybody ever heard of this Silver Bullet Band opening up?”
Nobody had and we got completely blown away by the best opening act any of us had ever seen (and we had been to hundreds of shows). Shortly after that Night Moves hit the radio waves and EVERYBODY had now heard of them.
Funny comment for those of us who knew Seger long before Boston showed up, Lol!! Love them both, btw. Fantastic talents of the like that just don't come around anymore, tragically...
I saw them on that same tour at the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando. In order of appearance, it was AC/DC, Bob Seger, The Doobies, and Boston. WHAT a show. IIRC it was 1978 or 1979.
@@thedevilinthecircuit1414
Yours was either a different tour or you’re off on your dates because I saw them December 15, 1976 at the Farm Show Arena in Harrisburg, PA.
This is bittersweet to watch because artists like Bob Seger and his band just don’t come around anymore. They made it to the top through pure grit, creating some of the most legendary music along the way. I know the loss of Alto Reed has been heartbreaking for Bob, and it wouldn’t be the same without him. I have endless respect for Bob-he and the Silver Bullet Band put everything into their music and their fans, leaving it all out there every single album and certainly every show. One of the hardest working bands ever!
Legend. What a voice. And what a songsmith
i was working on a resturant in louisville kentucky when they released sunspot baby on the backside of a single , loved it and still do
Ohh Bob!!!! I love your music!! I’m 40 years old and listen to you all the time still! Wish I could have seen you live but never got the chance.😞 People 20 years ahead of me can’t believe I know the lyrics and sing them to your songs! You’re my favorite
So, it's Saturday morning and I'm at a buddy's house and we're listening to "Night Moves" album which he bought the night before at the mall ( remember those?). I was a fan from that very moment. His music was with me on that cold lonely highway at night thumbing a ride from Chanute to Champaign-Urbana. Best memory ever.
I saw Seger in concert at about the time of this interview, and what he says here about the audience is true: all ages, from teens to geezers, dressed in everything from suits to rags. Great show, too.
Bob is pure class.
I love Bob Seger and have been a fan of his music for 30 of my 51 years of life. I've seen him in concert 4 times and each time was amazing.
Total class act, and the music is timeless!
“Roll Me Away” is the most perfect song ever written.
My favorite!
Agreed
Wow, wow and wow.
Two great American classics together 😊
Legend...and I can't think of a single interview I've ever seen where he was anything less than joyful and 'real'.
A True Rock and Roll LEGEND!!!! Love his music!
Love Bob! Famous finale sceen! Rock on Bob!
The best - his music is timeless
another classic rock act that should have played the Super Bowl. Bob is Americana and his live shows were legendary. 🎸🎙️
Now that would be a Super Bowl half time I would NOT want to miss❤❤❤❤
Maybe if the lions ever get there. Close this past year. He sure would be better than the Taylor Swift fiasco.
wishful thinking about the Lions but he's been retired from performing since 2019. I think between 1980 and about 2007 he and the Silver Bullet Band would have been a great choice.
@@tomc2376The day they announced his death will be the saddest ever. It will be just like family.
LOVE
Being from Michigan - this man has been a part of my life since I was 11 years old (the year Ramblin' Gamblin' Man came out). I also have always been amazing that when you hear Bob talk, you can hear he singing. It's the same voice.
My favorite Bob Seger song is “East Side Story” by Bob Seger and the Last Heard from 1966!
Bob is the best. His live shows are legendary.
He was the headliner at the last World Series Rock at Cleveland Municipal Stadium in 1980. I was there, his sax player going on a lift to top of stage....spotlight on him for the solo....blew me away.
Thanks Bob, I love all tour music, have gone from Vinyls, to Cd's now on Premium Spotify.
He's still my icon's rocker I love his voice ❤
I love Bob Seger. We're both from Detroit. He sang about me and my friends in his song "Horizontal Bop:"
"The pony cars are cruising on Woodward Avenue
Go and try to pass 'em, they'll smoke you if you do"
He was talking about me, cruising The Strip in the 70's.
Bob’s music (and his voice) is amazing.
When I was getting back into vinyl after 40 years away grabbing original copies of his albums was a must to build my collection.
Love love love Bob Seger ❤
Bob Seger had some smooth night 🌙 moves.
He'd been workin' on 'em
He had to "Get Out of Denver."
Like a rock
Turn the page….
@@ItelknerWorking and practicing!
I've seen hundreds of concerts but seeing Bob Segar play the Colosseum in Memphis was the absolute best.
brother bob never ever put out a bad song. my fav is roll me away. i love that man.
Seger is more talented than every “rapper”
and “hiphopper” in history…
combined.
All those fakers and posers combined are barely a blip to Seger's talent and genuine showmanship, not to mention his genuine humanity and just plain decency. They're not worth mentioning, really. He's in a different class altogether, in a league untouchable by that bland lot..
One of the most classiest guys in music history Unlike some others his voice was unchanged from the first time I saw him in late 70’s until a few months before he retired. LOVE THIS GUY!!!
I saw him in concert in the eighties and it was an amazing concert. He is a great songwriter and story teller.
I loved how Bob instantly rattled off those great artist in mere seconds, just shows how much he loves music . Cheers 🇨🇦
I saw him in Memphis in 1994. I have seen them all. Clapton, Page and Plant, Eagles, Crosby stills Nash, etc ---- Seger put on the best all around show I've ever seen. A real legend
The music program from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, picked up in Detroit, was on Channel 9. It was called “Swingin’ Time” with Robin Seymour. Regular performances in the after school time slot from Motown artists, local bands, and national touring acts. We had no idea how special it was, but we loved it.
It was great growing up in the Metro Detroit area in the 60's and 70's with all the great music. The AM stations WKNR, and CKLW out of Windsor, and all the great Motown hits! I remember Robin Seymour and Channel 9, and Hockey Night in Canada!
I've never had the opportunity to see Bob Seger live but I sure would love to. Some years ago I saw Ringo Starr's all-stars. They did a Little Help From My Friends. I noticed a young lady singing along and she was crying. She looked to be about 15. Good music is ageless.
Bob is just so awesome live
I absolutely Love this singer ❤❤❤❤
My first concert in 1978. Night Moves. Thanks for the music and memories.
1976 summer basketball practice, Inkster Michigan Cherry Hill high school. We played Live Bullet over the sound system to get us moving on those long, hot summer days up and down the basketball court.
Good memories.
what a great artist his music is the best to drive to
Especially "Get Out of Denver."
Growing up in Michigan Bob was the god of Rock!!!
When my brother got divorced I had to hear "sun spot baby" over and over 😊
Little Victories - that is my personal divorce song. 😂
🇨🇦 Windsor guy here , T.V. Station was CKLW , also the #1 radio station in the 60’s , we owned Motown !
Always had fun in Windsor as a 19 year old bar hopping.
If Mr Bob Seger is not on your list of greatest male Rock singers ever ...then im calling the cops !
The best!!! ❤
Bob is a musician's musician and an all around good dude.
When I watched the piece on "Muscle Shoals" the one studio said Seger was the most down to earth person that they worked with.
I saw that too. The guy said that as if wishing all those other singers and bands were like him. I've never ever come across anyone in an interview saying anything other than what a genuine nice, down to earth guy he is in real life. My all time favorite rock n roller. Happy 79th Bob!
Bob Sieger. Great American.
What a wonderful man and musician.
Live Bullet is the number one live album in my book!
I can still tell you exactly where the skip is on Turn the page on that old double album
It’s a tie between Live Bullet and Cheap Trick Live at Budokan for me!
Ramblin' Gamblin' Man was one of my first 45s. Still love that song.
As students we saw Bob in Manchester UK - probably 1976/ 77 .We were blown away ,maybe this was before he was famous .I've just found a video of Bob & Jason Aldean playing Against the Wind - wow
One of the best concerts I have ever seen. Bob is the best, rock on.
Bob is the greatest. ❤ Such a sweet guy. Love his voice.
Brand new mornings, Smokin OPs, Seger Seven, Back in 72, Live Bullet, Against the wind, Beautiful Loser, Night moves, Stranger in town......the list is long, and every one has a different flavor, but still the same Chef. Amazing talent. I'm from mid Michigan and have seen more live concerts than I can count. Always proud of Bob Seger. Makin Thunderbirds!! Who wants to go to Fire Lake. The answers in the question.
He played what I still regard as the single greatest concert I have ever attended. It would have been about 1979, in Detroit. They played for almost three hours, absolutely refusing to get off the stage, encore after encore. And it was, as the song says, old time rock and roll-no special effects, basic lighting, great sound and very high calibre showmanship.
I saw the Silver Bullet Band with the Fabulous Thunderbirds opening in 1986. Saw them at the old Aud in Buffalo. The T-Birds did a solid rockin' 45 minutes that blew the roof off the Aud. they put the roof back on and Bob and the band did a blistering 2 and a half hour show that blew the roof right back off. After leaving the show, my three friends and I listed off about 24 other songs he could have done and still be a great show.
Absolutely DETROIT, Thank you Bob for your musical talents and how you affected my life. You are ROCK N ROLL, and again, I just wanted to thank you Sir!!
It is impossible to drive the speed limit in some Detroit Muscle while listening and singing along to your music, it truly is euphoric!
I take those old records off the shelf, I sit and listen to them by myself, todays music ain’t got the same soul, I like that old time rock N roll!
He didn’t write that that was brought to him by the muscle shores, rhythm section (the swampers )who produced and played on the first five years of his recordings and 50% of the recordings after that
Always a pleasure to listen to people like Bob who followed their dream persistently and successfully in a tough business, and I don 't mean just the business. The challenges of the recording and business end, all those who depend on you and those who take a cut of your success, plus the personal challenges of being away from your family while having to tour, the many shows and constant traveling with monotony, boredom, and temptations. Talent, work, sacrifice (high divorce rates), and luck. Not an easy business at all.
He was probably the nicest musician I've met, which I've met many while managing an airport. About as down to earth and friendly as one could as for.
Ramblin Gamblin Man is such a great song.
Seen bob like four times in south Florida never disappointed, remember when he introduced a new song, old time rock and roll the first time I saw him rush was the opening band
❤Bob Segers a Legend. Genuine guy. My brother Dave, loved his tunes. ❤
There were definitely all ages at his concerts. I had the privilege to take my daughter with me and a couple of friends to see him on his final tour ! As always, it was a great show and we had a blast ! Thank you for the music !
He sounds awesome live!
I stumbled onto Bob Seger by accident
My brother wanted to know if I wanted to go to the show and I said hey I got nothing else to do I wasn't a big fan
But when I went to the concert he sounded just as good live as he did on the radio or on the album
He started growing on me and I started checking out all his albums and his music and I've been in love with his lyrics and the music ever since
I love the song night moves because like that he was saying back in 62 and 62 was the year I was born
I can't even count how many of his songs are absolute gems in my opinion Turn the Page
He comes across as a really down to earth good guy and of course a great song writer and singer.
Love Bob love his music what a gifted musician n song writer!!! And miss Dave!!!
He is a treasure, great songs that hit home and make you stop doing what your doing and listen
I never saw him live. An older friend of mine saw him in St. Louis in the early eighties and still says that he was the best live concert in a lifetime of concerts!
On a long lonely highway East of Omaha... I Love Bob's music saw him in concert and he opened for the Who in Chicago.
Turn the Page, one of my favorite songs ever. Wow! Bob and The Who ❤️
@@sunshinegirl1655Most times you can hear them talk, other times you can't.......

So many good memories listening to this music.
