Thanks for posting, I am definitely looking for a multi-effects unit which can loop and can be easily switched to a different patch but retain the original sound of the loop. In addition sound of the loop will not be affected by switching to different patches or effects while the duping over the loop. The delay of switching patches will not bother me and I will adjust to lag.

Yes there's a slight little gap but when I'm jamming with my band it does not impact my guitar playing, in fact, the guys do not notice it. And there's no lag in Stompbox mode definitely. I think what GP200 needs improvement is the modulation effects, it's a bit low quality compared to POD Go or MG30 and maybe add some Scene options where there's no lag.

After i get my patches i only actually need about 3 pedals for expression. For boost over a lead. For wah. And for reverb to crunch. I specifically chose this bc it has 8 buttons i can have more (instant) control of the looper. Otherwise i could buy any sub $100 multi effects.
Things i adore are the dedicated buttons for the pedals but they kidnof need to be lit up all the time to be able to see. I dont need the lights on the ones only on bc i can obviously tell theyre on i need to know the location of the one that is off.
Which could all be avoided with a touch screen.
I honestly prefer a monochromatic screen anyway instead of a bunch of flashy colors. I wish it was a monochrome touch screen and they saved some money on the color screen and buttons.
Or if they put another 4 footswitches on instead of all the buttons that are dedicated to things the footswitches are already dedicated to?
Though i dont wanna sound like im complaining i love the dedicated buttons thats exactly what i think every multi interface needs. Its annoying i have to double tap them on though.
So many multi effects always just miss the mark for stupid reasons
I wish i had a company i would make the perfect multi effects interface.
Any guitarist actually doesnt need the gimmick bells and whistles it often ends up causing problems like a new car with too many cheap plastic senors.
Guitarists want instant access, a bunch of instant buttons and intuitive interface.
    Everything else is prepared already.
I dont wanna change every setting on the fly i want it to save multiple presets of my settings i spent hours changing and i wanna change those instantly.
All the buttons should be for instant access so the pedal actually becomes a part of your playing not like some post editing thing.
Idc how long it takes for me to dial a tone if i cant access that tone instantly.
If thats how i is you might as well put 1 button on it and cycle through 50 presents click click click click click click click.
    No one wants that.
There is no reason an 8 button config cant have instant access to literally anything.

The Helix is none better than this in terms of latency. In India we pay 135,000 for it and there is a noticable latency unless it's used in snapshot mode. We don't pay that much money to use what THEY want us to use right?

Great points. I noticed each issue you mentioned in actual use.
Another usability issue i noticed is the user can assign an effect that is off to a footswitch that is toggled green, and it prioritizes the current state over the sensible way to show an indicator. IE if you assign an effect pedal that is OFF to a foot switch showing green, then that GREEN switch state is saved as PEDAL OFF, which is opposite of what a green light typically signals to our brain. Toggling the effect pedal and reassigning it remedies this issue, but yea. What a pain in the brain..

Personally i would hate for the effects to not be in the original patch state when i switch to a patch, but its of course not wrong to have other preferences. In theory you could definately make such a function and make and on/off settiing for it and there would be nothing wrong with having that.

I’m sure you probably figured out by now fs1 and fs2 buttons on the looper page are where you can go into the bank and change your patches, though you have to check the pre/post setting in the looper or it will change the looped tone like re-amping in a daw… also the issue with the different levels coming out for cab or no cab setup you could just use the balance on the preset to turn it down for your amp return… may be a little tricky but could alleviate your level issue.

Hi your approach to evaluating a device makes so much sense to me. Could you recommend a multi fx pedal that you have (ideally) tried, and liked - one that is robust and not necessarily cheaper than this… but not as pricey as the Helixs and Kempers of the world. I am considering this one, the Mooers, the NUXs and within Boss, the GX100. I would have got the Line 6 Pod Go but the effects blocks limitations is a real issue for me. I completely get your criti of the live thing. I dont like how i have to hold for the looper bc to hit on beat you have to solo and then immediately start overdubbing. And your overdub isnt going to be a lead its going to add a rhythm. So you have to turn off your boost and then somehow at the same time hold the looper to get back to the looper in time to start on the next beat.

It takes forever to start up, the effects are ok and it has the ability for you to have multiples of the same effect in the chain which is really cool. However, I found that at some venues it wouldn't power up. It was unreliable. Then the power supply failed totally. It was exchanged under warranty but I have never used the replacement unit. I bought the Valeton GP-200 to replace it and have never looked back. The GP-200 is perfect for me.

Ive had mine 2 days. It was going great, barley know anything havent even gone through the presets, today on the 2nd preset and looper and drums jamming out having a great time sounded great a little muddy
And then.....severe loud crackling...i notice the audio has a volume peaking meter which is kinda weird bc other multi interfaces ive had i havent had to watch the level, but anyway i notice my distortion was cranked and my master was low so i turned the dist vol down and the master up and it fixed it for a second and then
    Crackling again.
I thought okay maybe the cpu has too much right now so i let the looper play and turned off all my effects and it still crackled.
Its almost like it starts crackling when i overdub my loop too much or something which makes no sense bc an overdub shouldnt take more cpu since it compounds the first loop
Help please. I dont wanna send this back and i spent months comparing multieffects units to pick this one. It has everything i want but its crackling now.
I checked all my connections and turned the bass like off bc sometimes heavy bass can shake the ts jack on some older amps but that wasnt it. It even crackled on almost no volume.

Hi there, I use 3 different multi-effects pedals, Line 6, Headrush and Boss. with all of these guys, there is no "Gap" at all inside the patch. I always stay on one patch per song so I don't worry about any gap between patches. The looper on the Headrush and the Line 6 Pedals, have no problems, you can switch tones while you loop.
The Boss unit has such a stupid short loop time, it's useless. Anyway, I hate to say it, but basically, you get what you pay for... You should think about upgrading.

Regarding volume when taking one output to front of house and the other to the effect return of an onstage amp:
In a well-designed amp, the effect loop is before the master volume. This means you can simply use the master volume on the amp to control the stage volume.
Badly designed amps may have the loop after the master volume. This is a very poor design, as the signal level going to effects is affected by how loud you play. This results in poor signal to noise ratio when playing at low volume, while it may overdrive your effects if you play the amp loud.
Can't blame Valeton for not accounting for poorly designed amps...
