The Helix is none better than this in terms of latency. In India we pay 135,000 for it and there is a noticable latency unless it's used in snapshot mode. We don't pay that much money to use what THEY want us to use right?
Great points. I noticed each issue you mentioned in actual use. Another usability issue i noticed is the user can assign an effect that is off to a footswitch that is toggled green, and it prioritizes the current state over the sensible way to show an indicator. IE if you assign an effect pedal that is OFF to a foot switch showing green, then that GREEN switch state is saved as PEDAL OFF, which is opposite of what a green light typically signals to our brain. Toggling the effect pedal and reassigning it remedies this issue, but yea. What a pain in the brain..
Personally i would hate for the effects to not be in the original patch state when i switch to a patch, but its of course not wrong to have other preferences. In theory you could definately make such a function and make and on/off settiing for it and there would be nothing wrong with having that.

Thanks for your detailed technical review - very useful. The gap in switching patches was something that I also heard in a few other videos. I am considering this or the Zoom G6. Have you had the opportunity to compare this with Zoom G6? If so your, input would be very valuable. On a separate note, I too have been a long-term user of Zoom G1XOn, but ditched it for NUX-MG300. The tones are still great, but I have to stomp very hard (2-3 times) to change the patch. Have you had any such problems? If so, if you can offer any solution, that would be very helpful. Thanks.
Hi there, I use 3 different multi-effects pedals, Line 6, Headrush and Boss. with all of these guys, there is no "Gap" at all inside the patch. I always stay on one patch per song so I don't worry about any gap between patches. The looper on the Headrush and the Line 6 Pedals, have no problems, you can switch tones while you loop. The Boss unit has such a stupid short loop time, it's useless. Anyway, I hate to say it, but basically, you get what you pay for... You should think about upgrading.
I have the HX stomp: its looper unusable on stage. Even the physical buttons are suckers for it. Then the software: man, double quick stomp to stop ur loop! Can u imagine this silliness?!!!
Regarding volume when taking one output to front of house and the other to the effect return of an onstage amp: In a well-designed amp, the effect loop is before the master volume. This means you can simply use the master volume on the amp to control the stage volume. Badly designed amps may have the loop after the master volume. This is a very poor design, as the signal level going to effects is affected by how loud you play. This results in poor signal to noise ratio when playing at low volume, while it may overdrive your effects if you play the amp loud. Can't blame Valeton for not accounting for poorly designed amps...
Put wish klone boost threw it plug the guitar into the boost the out into the return on your valve amp with evh distortion. Set around 10 o'clock and distortion chif gain 5 and U will have a killer sound .I payed 400 the way I set mine up is better than any 2000 unit. But above all my friend U have to no how to play. No matter what U use won't sound good unless U can really play. So get to practice. Cos u need Sirius practice. And might help if U tune ya guitar

Stomp Helix XL (I have) sucks, Ampero, Mooer, Headrush MX5: suckers! :( oh, and Helix has an extra joke: it needs double quick stomp to stop ur loop! Now I use an ampero mini and a separate Rowin Nano looper (the brown edition, the blue ist verrukt: double stomp to stop the loop..)
I'd just be happy if they fixed the drop pedal in it. It's unusable. Way too much latency and warble.
Regarding volume when taking one output to front of house and the other to the effect return of an onstage amp:
In a well-designed amp, the effect loop is before the master volume.
These issues are common to all mfx units tho
It took you1:45 to get to your first real point?!
Sorry, I like the sound of my own voice
Put wish klone boost threw it plug the guitar into the boost the out into the return on your valve amp with evh distortion. Set around 10 o'clock and distortion chif gain 5 and U will have a killer sound .I payed 400 the way I set mine up is better than any 2000 unit. But above all my friend U have to no how to play. No matter what U use won't sound good unless U can really play. So get to practice. Cos u need Sirius practice. And might help if U tune ya guitar
Maybe if you used your foot?

nah, you're being too picky. haha. I just watched the first delay part, I'm out.
And you will always have a lag even with a stomp pedal because it takes time for your foot to make contact and actually push the button.
It's a split second delay... just cope..
