      Where did you purchase your connectors and does the clear plastic piece come with it, if not what did you purchase and where? Thanks

      I am tryin to replace the one white connector on my inherited techniques turntable.
      The pin remain in the receiver when I was removing the plug, was able to retrieve the pin, but after putting the pin back on , I do not have sound. So believe I need to replace both connectors so I will have good connections. The other end of the cable does not have the connectors, the cable continues into the turntable. I have tried Home Depot lowes, radioshack, not sure which on amazon would be best. So do you know where your purchased yours? Thanks

      Exactly , you have no idea how many arguments I’ve had with turntable repair guys telling me I needed to replace the whole wire when in reality the only thing that goes bad on the Texhnics RCAs are the plugs not the whole wire . Now I do all my own repairs for myself and for my friends so that they don’t spend $100 on replacing the whole RCA cable

      That’s my plan as well but my turntable has a 3rd wire. I assume ground? Where would this connect? I believe it was originally hooked to the red wire. Thanks for any help.

    Is that heat shrink tubing? The plastic piece that slips over the soldering?

    • @Woodys_Hobbies

      It's just a plastic. It is included when you buy this kind of RCA plug.

    Grea vid,I have a Question,I have made my own RCA cables for Technics Turntables for years, typical white Red connection from the PCB Board to two connectors White Red all good,one Day I've decided to Make my own RCA,male to male for plug and unplug RCA Turntables,they worked Both Directions fine,the problem is that,I've tried to build more and now they don't work at all,same cables same connectors and I don't even remember what I did the first time to make them Work Both Directions! Any help?

      Check wire connections maybe shorted ground and signal wire or your wire is broken no continuity if you test with ohmmeter.

    The problem I have is, my original RCA plug barrel itself has some problem, not the wire. And my old wire do not split up into two like you are showing here. How can buy a new rca plug and attach the existing wires ? Where can I order these RCA open plugs from ?

    • @Woodys_Hobbies
      @Woodys_Hobbies  Год назад

      You can buy RCA plug in online stores just search rca plug. About wire like you said not split into two, you can split that by simply arrange the strand of wires. The outer braided wires are the shield. The insolated center wire is the signal wire.

    Can we interchange the points while soldering? Is there any fixed positive and negative?

    • @Woodys_Hobbies
      @Woodys_Hobbies  5 месяцев назад

      In audio signal you cannot interchange the positive and negative it will mute the sound.

    Nice of you to try and help but the out of focus camera and the left hand blocking the shot makes it hard to figure anything out. Maybe try again - it could be helpful if the process was visible.

      “…try and help”? This video is a great tutorial. It shows everything you need to see to do the job right! Little bit of blurry focus or a blocking hand here and there… so what. The man is an artist at his craft. Notice his fine motor skills, attention to perfecting the connection and use of fingers. He’s not a professional videographer. I can’t stand these nitpicking comments.

    Unfortunately the video constantly loses focus zooming in and out while the person's hands are many times in the way of the video footage to properly see exactly what he is doing.

      @@Woodys_Hobbies so ground gets soldered to the bottom and the signal wires get soldered in the center? Is that correct?

      @@Tang526 Yes Signal wire is soldered in the center conductor. Ground is soldered in the outer conductor.

    Bang untuk mengetahui (+) dan (-) pada soket rca pin 1 gimana ya caranya

    • @Woodys_Hobbies
      @Woodys_Hobbies  Год назад

      RCA Plug and Jack usually used in audio signal to find out the pin configurations is very simple in RCA plug the center pin is always + and the outer diameter is your negative. The same with the RCA Jack the center hole is + and your outside diameter is the negative. The outer diameter of the RCA plug or jack always connected to the body of the RCA.
