Scarlet Rot seems to be the deciding factor.
i think the deciding factor is if he walks into a scarlet rot move in second phase, which happens a third of the time but otherwise hes winning 9/10 times

@@Gloverfield I do think that he would ultimately win in a fight, but there’s no reason to think it wouldn’t be extremely close. For the same reasons as I said in the original comment.

@@orion9630 Mainly cause of his curse, unlike malenia's curse, Messmers void serpent is considered to be such a threat, that Marika his mother, she crawled out his eyes and then banished him to the shadow realm by telling him to commit crusades there, and so he did, he took over an entire realm. As for Malenia, her biggest feat is nuking a country and basically ending in a draw with rahdan.
Also scarlet rot is mainly countered with fire, and since messmer curse gives him fire powers, its a terrible match up for Malenia, that and he's first born of radan which means he's likely older and more experienced...
@@Gloverfield Ok. In my opinion, that doesn’t really show that Messmer is more powerful, but it definitely shows why he clearly has the advantage if they ever actually fought. He’s much more experienced, and his powers are almost directly counteractive to Malenia’s source of power, at least in a combat scenario. Thank you for informing me!
messmer absolutely mauls malenia, but the problem is that the AI walks into the rot flower in the second phase, but lore wise he wouldnt obviously.

Malenia isnt aggressive ,dont have much attack power and Messmer is opposite , although Malenia has HP steal , still not enough

Messmer doesn't have rune power. His natural strength should be over Marenia's.

Messmer is way stronger than Malenia. Malenia only stands half a chance if shes lucky enough to land a Scarlet bloom bomb like she did Radahn. Even then Messmer is better by far.

I know it’s game mechanics but I’m a bit salty that they don’t have Malenia focus on evasion and maneuverability more. She didn’t seem to try to dodge anything. Just took every hit head on. When we know, based off lore, that’s not what would happen at all.
I’ll admit that I’m bias towards Malenia. Oh well.
Well, lore wise Messmer is far stronger than Malenia. In lore, this wouldn't even be a battle worth looking at.

@@joshmorrison2989 The same lore that states that Messmer is so dangerous that he got locked away by Marika due to the threat he posed to the erdtree, and he remained such a threat even without any great runes.

All I'm saying is neither Radahn or Malenia had their mother ever lock them away in fear.
