I went to Cebu City In the Philippines to spend one day With Motic Panugalinog ( @sg4ltv738 ) owner of his own skateshop : SG4l and am skater for zero and CARIUMA we had a crazy day . I went to see his neighborhood, visiting friends and family .
We went to the iconic spot of plaza independencia and went to his favourite skate spot Pahara under the bridge diy spot .
Motic is a killer on a skateboard but also a great human being . Setting example for his community and living the skater dream .

theres only few skateparks here, theres private skater owned ones, but you gotta have connection to the owners or you work there to skate for free.. other skate spots are just courts(basketball/tennis) yeah really sucks especially on rainy seasons

Skate scene in the Philippines is so underground, niche and, underrated; seeing basketball as more accessible sport. It sparks joy and hope whenever i see group of skaters doin sessions on plazas or an under construction road.

visited pahara like mid july. nobody was there, maybe i came in at the wrong time. wish cebu could support by building a large public skatepark for everybody. for skateboard, bmx, rollerblades, scooter, you name it. makes it safer and a more fun experience especially for beginners. just like in japan, i do believe that skateboarding can be a big sport for us filipinos. we just need more support.

I feel that Filipinos are naturally great skaters because they are highly flexible, in addition to good coordination. I grew up skating with some Filipino street rippers and also encountered the VB vert crew which had/has a very high concentration of Filipinos.

I currently live in Canada. A few hours away from Cebu is a small island city called Dumaguete. It's a great place to chill. We used to have a small skate community back in the day, but it's grown since. You should consider going there if you're still in the area. I can set you up with the guys if you're interested! Great content!
