Having read through like 80% of the comments in this post, I think a lot of people are missing this point, the point being is, BarCa are broke, their finances are in a dire state, they saving grace which was highlighted in this video was the rise of the young players, winning the league and providing some form of playing stability for a club who was once reeling.

For example tuchel would normally play a possesion based football but whenge came up aagainst city he would change. Pep normally plays possesion based football but this season when he came up against Liverpool this year he played counter attacking football especially in the 2nd half.

@@mirmir9368 you can never know that for sure. What they can confirm is that they are on the right track from when Xavi started to where they are now. Flick is not only to win titles but to refine the team playing style and give them an identity which Xavi didn’t do. Even if he fails at titles but create an identity, the other coach has something to work with. Laporta realizes this after 2 seasons that we haven’t found it. It’s a difficult decision to fire him but if you’re thinking betterment of the club then take a risk. It’s more long term strategy for the future.

@@P4P1980 you have lost your mind. Real Madrid virtually never had their defenders this season. Barca still had a players fit for every position on the field. If anyone has a right to talk about injuries it is Madrid. They were even without Vinicius until about December or January. Bellingham got injured, think Camavinga got injured, Cortious got injured, Alaba got injured, Militao got injured etc etc. You should even remember there was a point in February or late January where Ancelotti had to play Carvajal and Tchouameni at CENTRE BACK.
My young lad, you need to get of your play station where your barca team probably has a world of injuries and get to watching real football.

You have to understand the club and then make such statements. Look at Madrid who had coaches won ucl and then Got sacked. Nobody complained. Yes he did well and he steady the ship but he wasn’t the coach to carry us to glory right now.
The problem with FC Barcelona is not the coach but the board and the real solution to fix the problems at the club would be to replace the board either through an emergency elections or sell the club outright to competent owners.
Xavi did an amazing job in the short time he was there and amidst all the nonsense and BS from the board he managed to bring a winning season out of it.
Flick will not bring better results than Xavi next season, it will relatively be the same or worse, hence you have Flick's 1 + 1 contract which shows Laporta is not as stupid as he looks and or he's covering his hide because deep down he knows Flick will not do better in terms of bringing more trophies. This was an image saving move by Laporta and again it will not make things better because FC Barcelona fortunes will not change overnight and in the end the real cules or real Barca supporters are again the losers because of an incompetent board.
Hopefully by the 2026 elections Barca will have a new competent board coz obviously the club will not be sold to competent owners.

And the main emphasis is on "Option" meaning he has to do a stellar job in his first season meaning if the bar is correct he has to win it all and by calculations based on current situation of FC Barcelona Hansi Flick will not do better than Xavi more of the same in terms of results but yes to air heads looking in it will probably look different in terms of playing style more "entertaining" but results will be the same meaning either another 2nd place finish and thats about it really.

Being a national team manager is a completely different kettle of fish, compared to being a club manager. Hansi Flick wasn’t entirely responsible for the dysfunctional operation of the German team. If they don’t win the Euros this summer, nagglesman will be in the same position
Xavi has growth to do. He has a "my way or highway" type of attitude with players. And his discipline on the pitch is a bit bad which reflects on players. I think he could be in the future a great manager with how smart his football knowledge is and how he develops players. Barca is not a club where growing is possible I think. Pep, Tito (to an extent), and Lucho were lucky that their growth was already there, but they also had some really high-caliber players to cover their lack of experience.
Hansi will be good for barca, he comes in with no bias of the team or the league. He could come in and make decisions that aren't emotionally driven.

Why is no one talking about the utter betrayal of Barca for many of its players.
Hansi Flick is a great coach and will transform barca positively, the question is not if he's the right man for barca but whether barca is the right club for him. Remember that he quit a stable Bayern after winning literally every title just because he was unhappy. As Xavi said the next manager will have a very difficult job and if he was unhappy at a winning and stable Bayern imagine how unhappy he will become at an unstable and financially worse club like Barcelona. I don't see him lasting more than a season not because he will be sacked just because he will quit. I think that if he had several options he wouldn't choose Barca but as he has been unemployed and wants to prove himself again he has chosen this job and will use it as a trampoline to find a better job after one season. Lets not forget that Guardiola is leaving Manchester City in summer 2025...
Xavi did very good lifting barcelona out of the trenches with his minimal experience he did admirably averaging 85 points a season. But watching other teams with much less talent on paper like girona beating us scoring 4 goals twice and villareal scoring 5 on barca and our attack being so wasteful all season we needed someone new a new voice. Xavi needs more experience elsewhere, and he can come back when barcelona needs him again, and when we have a new president. But he needs to become a better manager he has weaknesses he needs to iron out im sure he will do a great job at another club.

How much influence did Xavi really have on who's staying and who's going we will never know. I doubt very much he wanted Auba to go. Yes, I have a difference of opinion about some of his tactics and even the way he played some players that didn't help (Ferran) and some others he didn't (too many to mention) but, I will never forget how LaPorta has treated some of their most legendary players in the name of **Club first**. Flick will be a failure at Barca
Barca could have had a great season, but they screwed up one match, the rematch with PSG, which could have been win as if Barca had played with their full squad. This team is very unstable. In my opinion, Flick is an interesting choice for Barca Bayern he took when it had problems too and set it up perfectly.
