Steve's attitude towards Martinez is just plain stupid.....there's nothing u can say against him as a defender except height.....Man United were a different type of composed yesterday because he was on the pitch....Obvious to any objective observer
Come on. I'm very far from a Man United fan but it's just so tiresome that every explanation for why a so-called big favorite has lost a match is because of some massive mistake by the favorite instead of giving credit to the opponent. Man U set up well, executed when they had to, and took the game. Credit to them.
Well, Guardiola *DID* have one of his habitual brain-farts that makes him inexplicably adopt self-defeating team selections and tactics in cup competitions.
@@lonelyboy1977 And yet he made the needed second half adjustment by inserting Doku and Man U did enough to still get through. I support a smaller club and this "so-and-so weren't at the races" is always, ALWAYS the narrative underlying big wins. Sometimes it's true; you ride your luck now and again. But all the time? Nonsense. The default ought to be to give the winning team credit when they execute.
@@timbeyers58 Two things can be true at the same time. In a match in which one team is below par and the other plays above there usual level, there is nothing wrong in acknowledging both things. The idea that there is a concerted anti-United campaign in the media to not give them credit in a one-off match is patently nonsense. Opinions in football are subjective. Different people can watch the same match and see completely different things. That's why in press conferences after matches Ten Hag's assessment of United performances are almost always at odds with what most other spectators have observed in those games.
@@lonelyboy1977 Sure, that's fair. And I agree that there isn't some grand conspiracy against Man U, but this vid focused almost entirely on what might have been the reasons Man City weren't at it while focusing almost not at all on what Man U got right. That's the issue, and I saw it constantly with my club (Palace) after the new manager came in. So yes, two things can be true. Let's first acknowledge great play and then also acknowledge when a great team hasn't lived up to expectations. My only issue here is, as you put it, "both things" weren't really acknowledged. It was instead an exercise in excuse making and that is frustrating.
Omg Just say that you didn't get it right about the guy. You can be wrong too sir, you're human. It's just a joy to see Stevie still dancing around the fact that Martinez proved him wrong.
This is only a segment. If you want to find "credit" for united, find the segment that addresses the F.A Cup Final and stop being such a whiney little child.
In my opinion, Manchester City’s downfalls don’t start even after Pep Guardiola’s departure next year. Before he was their manager, they were rising and were already a good team, under him they’ve blossomed into a dominant force in English football and assuming they’re not guilty of their charges, they’re in a great financial position so even after he leaves they won’t be an issue for them. As long as he’s their manager, they’ll always be the favorites to win the Premier League and realistically speaking, Manchester City on paper with Pep are the only team that can compete with Real Madrid after they sign Mbappe. With the news that he’s closer to leaving than staying, I’m expecting a massive overhaul of the squad in the next 18 months. Bernardo Silva has been linked with a move away from the club literally every summer and whether it’s this year or next year, I see him leaving. Next month, Kevin De Bruyne turns 33, he’s not getting any younger meaning that you don’t know how much longer he’ll stay at the club and he could tempted by a big money offer from Saudi Arabia, Kyle Walker is also getting older too. There’s rumors that Ederson is leaving in the summer. What’ll happen to Erling Haaland will he remain at Man City or will he interested in a move to either Barcelona or even Real Madrid despite Mbappe being on that team could they lose someone like Rodri very soon. There is some potential uncertainty around that squad and even if there wasn’t if Pep leaves this means that a new playing style depending on his replacement they’ll have to adapt and get used to it because that’s the case whenever a team gets a new manager. As you’ve seen with other clubs after losing a legendary manager: Manchester United- Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsenal recently- Arsene Wenger, it could happen with Liverpool post Jurgen Klopp, these managers are irreplaceable in their own way and this is something that City fans will find out in the next 12 months depending on who stays or who leaves after Pep departs.
Haaland's strength was never heading crosses. It's blitzing counterattacks. He is super fast, but you never see this in City, because they are very careful when attacking. In Dortmund he was a beast. Haaland's biggest quality is his raw speed. He can outrun anyone.
It's amazing seeing Stevie scramble to shut down the point Dan is trying to make. He'll never give Martinez the credit he's due. "When you look at the big picture" consisted of two points: Martinez 'could have' cost them a penalty (didn't), and he's short so it's more likely a striker will jump higher for a header. Kept going on about how the referee let him man-handle Haaland. I wouldn't doubt Stevie put money on this game.
Pep understands football. It doesn't matter if Martinez is a top 5 defender or not, but yesterday he had Erling in his pocket and his passing through the lines is what killed City. I was skeptical about ETH talking about injuries, etc. but yesterday when I saw a proper left footed centre back as left CB, as ETH prefers, you could see it make a massive difference when United played out from the back. Where was Stevie when Liverpool and Barcelona were playing Javier Macherano as CB?
Why is Steve digging up excuses for City's loss?? They lost because United forced them to play badly. Give United the credit they deserve. And I'm a Liverpool fan
2026 Guardiola for Spain, Klopp for Germany, Ancelotti for Italy and Mounrinho for Portugal...if that happens World Cup 26' will be the most entertaining tournament of all sports of all time.
Maybe Steve was hating, but I agree with Ale saying Pep was sarcarstic because we've experienced outstanding CBs in this season alone: Saliba, Rudiger, Van Dijk, Ruben Dias, Stones, Gabriel. I don't think Martinez is in the top 5.
He will be remembered as a manage r that won a lot of trophies in a short period of time with a club that cheated to win them and has no actual fan base! best thing he can do is leave and go to a propper club if he wants any real legacy!
Steve if you talking about a whole picture, we already seen the whole picture yesterday, Martinez bullied halaand, Martinez won some air battle and cleared the ball, he defended well and intercept a lot of key passes, and United won the FA Cup.😂 Steve is so salty about Martinez, at this point I think Steve just jealous 😂
When Martinez played full season without injuries, Utd conceded least goals & De Gea won golden glove. When city played Real, Rudiger & Nacho keep fightng with Halland, it's a part of game to distract & make doubts in opposition mind. when madrid did that steve was like... 2 center backs was magnificent 😅
No surprise there as Guardiola has cemented himself as one of the greatest if not greatest football managers of all time. Plus the way he was able to manage at City he can't go anywhere else better in terms of competence, support, and convenience. Chances are Pep may decide to coach the Spanish National Team in the future and win all the major trophies with them and then call it a day.

People comparing him to Fergie. Pep is a great manager but Bruh nobody can beat SAFs record for staying so long and wining for so long!!
Steve's attitude towards Martinez is just plain stupid.....there's nothing u can say against him as a defender except height.....Man United were a different type of composed yesterday because he was on the pitch....Obvious to any objective observer
Stevie getting flustered on Martinez was worth the whole video.
I could never see Slatan being pushed off the ball by a smaller defender.
To be fair, Martinez was crucial for Argentina in the 22 WC title win
Come on. I'm very far from a Man United fan but it's just so tiresome that every explanation for why a so-called big favorite has lost a match is because of some massive mistake by the favorite instead of giving credit to the opponent. Man U set up well, executed when they had to, and took the game. Credit to them.
I agree and City's goal was from a mistake
I'd love to see Pep at AC Milan/Napoli/Roma next... hopefully AC Milan, and make them dominant again like Sacchi did
Wow, still no credit for united winning. It's amazing🎉 well done to the script writers.
This is only a segment. If you want to find "credit" for united, find the segment that addresses the F.A Cup Final and stop being such a whiney little child.
Never mind bro we all know it was UNITED'S GREATEST FA CUP FINAL VICTORY and red devil's supporters are celebrating NON STOP 😁😀😄🙂😎👊👍
@@el.aye.bee.4477 In that video, they still hardly gave any credit to United and brushed it off as an off day for City. Stop being a moron.
Stevie the Salty Sad Case. I LOVE IT
When a former defender is criticizing a defender for man handling a striker 😂…Someone is being dishonest.
if pep leaves english football may be freed from the shackles of city
Haaland's strength was never heading crosses. It's blitzing counterattacks. He is super fast, but you never see this in City, because they are very careful when attacking. In Dortmund he was a beast. Haaland's biggest quality is his raw speed. He can outrun anyone.
stevie is so salty, hes gone soft for poor old halaand
It's amazing seeing Stevie scramble to shut down the point Dan is trying to make. He'll never give Martinez the credit he's due. "When you look at the big picture" consisted of two points: Martinez 'could have' cost them a penalty (didn't), and he's short so it's more likely a striker will jump higher for a header. Kept going on about how the referee let him man-handle Haaland. I wouldn't doubt Stevie put money on this game.
They never going to give the credit to Licha but i'm sure that he will provide that kind of performances on a regular basis next season.
Ale was never regarded as a top 5 player in his position so he shouldn't talk neither should Stevie
Mentality is more important than physicality.
The way Martinez bodied that Norwegian Ogre.
What the F*? He renewed when Klopp renewed and he leaves when Klopp leaves? Is he Klopp stalker?
He’s like an ex that you can’t shake off.
Kloop was a top four coach and glorified for it.
@@garyoneill9863Pep even followed Klopp to PL, 1 season after Klopp left BVB, Pep left Bayern! 😮
"Stucking" isn't a real word.
erling haaland 0 shot at target? thats wrong isnt it? didnt haaland hit the crossbar? isnt that on target?
Ogdens a clown
Props to Dan for going against Stevie
Pep understands football. It doesn't matter if Martinez is a top 5 defender or not, but yesterday he had Erling in his pocket and his passing through the lines is what killed City.
I was skeptical about ETH talking about injuries, etc. but yesterday when I saw a proper left footed centre back as left CB, as ETH prefers, you could see it make a massive difference when United played out from the back.
Where was Stevie when Liverpool and Barcelona were playing Javier Macherano as CB?
Steve truly struggle giving any credit to United xD its so funny to see stevie angry haha
Arteta to City HERE WE GOOOOOOOOOO
Never😅
Pep is rarely wrong. This time he was. No problem admitting it. Top class.
lol Pep being nice to praise opponent CB… Nichol need to listen back what he said
Why is Steve digging up excuses for City's loss?? They lost because United forced them to play badly. Give United the credit they deserve. And I'm a Liverpool fan
Stevie hates Lisandro for some reason 😂
Stevie argument is absolutely nonsense you can't tell me that city weren't denied a penalty
Lmao get someone who doesn't hate manutd for once.
Crazy how this rumour exploded considering it was a click bait article
Ok should we consider Pep's opinion or "Steve's". Hmmm
What you'll man only tlk about Martinez for he's a great player even Arsenal wanted him to play LB
So Martinez half the size manhandled Haarland? And yet he says he's too short 🤣🤣
Whether he stays or not that not my concern as Man Utd fan
I personally think he will be in Italy I think juventus as he is the only person in guardiola who will bring them success
Steve Nichols assessment vs Peps assessment. I rest my case.
😂😂😂😂 Stevie says it's not because of partying its because they were 3 days off??what dd they do in the 3 days off?? They were partying 😂😂
He will be remembered as a manage r that won a lot of trophies in a short period of time with a club that cheated to win them and has no actual fan base! best thing he can do is leave and go to a propper club if he wants any real legacy!
Stevie knows more than PEP 😂😂😂
If u are "scared" to follow a great manager at a great club, you shouldnt be a manager in the first place. No great manager thinks like that.
These pundits don't know anything about ball
Lol and you do? You are literally just some random african. At least these people are Europeans as Europeans invented soccer.
If they know they wont be a pundits
For whatever reason the double can be difficult to win. Liverpool won 12 league titles since 1970 but only 2 doubles in that time.
Stevie talking about Lisandro Martinez's size will never not be funny 🤣
