The reboot definitely takes advantage of the advanced hand drawn animations to make the evolution sequences more lively. Definitely better than just spinning in place.
As much as I love the original WarGreymon first evolution, this one definitely gave a much better impact. I love the part of MetalGreymon looking up to the courage crest so powerful.

Man I’ve watched digimon since the very first episode and when wargreymon and metalgarurumon showed In CGI I thought it was the most beautiful transformation when I was younger. Now seeing how they did it here and being in my 20s I really love how sharp the animation looks during the transformation. That was veyyyy fire man and how much bigger he looks here!
Okay, I had some doubts about this remake at the beginning. But each episode brought down one of them, and that moment was literally the icing on the cake. From the animation of this scene, through the reactions of the opponents to the pure demonstration of superiority, everything is perfect.
What makes wargreymon so inspirational to me as a kid, even though I was a metalgarurumon fan, is that he constantly fights strong opponents (metalgarurumon, dark masters) by himself and never give up. Even when his armor was shattered by Piedmon, he was holding him back until reinforcements arrived. The mental image I had of him was someone who flew towards the enemy (someone as humongous as venommyotismon) with the brave shields behind his back, as he did his brave tornado. No wonder, the name “brave shields” or “brave tornado” fits him very well.

Even now, two years later, it makes me ridiculously happy that they finally gave Agumon a proper "MetalGreymon to WarGreymon" digivolution sequence, instead of defaulting to Warp Digivolving like they did in the original series. Like, Warp Digivolving in and of itself is a cool idea, but it kinda feels like something that should have been unlocked at a later date, rather than being THE default method of going Mega. Either way, I was unbelievably hyped when I first saw this sequence, and I still get goosebumps every time I rewatch it.
i think it was just a matter of time and money. seeing that only 2 digimon partners got a computer animated digivolution, i guess that it used to be really expensive back in the day. It also saved time from the episode not to go through 3 different ones. i rewatched season 1 last weak and boy got it exhausting seeing everyone going from rookie to ultimate level. literally was 2 minutes of digivolutions although they were even sped up
Why gaia force was so epic when it first came out, due to two reasons: 1. In the psyche of Japanese people, the most powerful weapon they ever experienced was the atomic bombings of ww2. Gaia force was the embodiment of that sun they faced. 2. Gaia force gained credibility as a powerful damage dealer because it was basically the most evolved form of Agumon’s fire attack: baby flame -> mega flame -> giga destroyer -> terra force.
Crossmon getting roasted alive by that Gaia Force has a striking similarity to the myth of Icarus, a winged man who flew too close to the sun (G Force), got his wings melted due to the solar heat and died after falling down

Like yeah Alterous and Sagittarius are modes for MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon, but they're not really ENTIRELY different digimon like VictoryGreymon and ZeedGarurumon are. Also, those two are already Ultra level digimon, since they do digivolve from WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. They just also have Ultimates they can digivolve from too, RizeGreymon and MachGaogamon. As far as I can tell, we haven't actually seen a slide evolution occur yet. I can't count Patamon's recent episode since he just shifted his Champion mid-digivolution instead of slide digivolving to Angemon from Pegasusmon. I can't even count Alterous and Sagittarius since those are more MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon getting a part from their respective X-Antibody versions.
This is why digimon had so much better in scale of power and more epic than pokemon when they evolve into mega,digimon fighting power comes from his partner and always know what to do to , digimon and partner always fight toegether

@@kikotsukino1629 nope Omegamon is not a jogress is a fusion. Jogress is when two lower level digimon fuse into a higher level one. Like Adult+Adult=Perfect. Omegamon like Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon is still an Ultimate.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how close the animation is to resembling the original Digimon Season 1? I mean, it even has the small white dots that were distributed all over the scenes while the kids were in the digiworld. Fuck this is amazing!

That's because this WarGreymon has a larger amount of data. Same with Royal Knight Dukemon from Savers when compared to Takato's.
I kinda preferred him small. Gave a whole “big things in small packages” sort of feel. I’m also a sucker for minimalism... this also means Matt can’t ride metalgarurumon like he used to

I would _love_ for VictoryGreymon to be upgraded to Ultra just so it could be a full-fledged digivolution, and not a Slide Evolution or Mode Switch.
@@MrOmegatronic why not?its not a normal mode change and could still have a great impact without it having to be boosted to high hell and it would be a nice tie in to tais and agumons personal adventure as victory is the most powerful greymon variant

@@MrOmegatronic Has Adventure 2020 even shown a mode change like that? Like yeah Alterous and Sagittarius are modes for MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon, but they're not really ENTIRELY different digimon like VictoryGreymon and ZeedGarurumon are. Also, those two are already Ultra level digimon, since they do digivolve from WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. They just also have Ultimates they can digivolve from too, RizeGreymon and MachGaogamon. As far as I can tell, we haven't actually seen a slide evolution occur yet. I can't count Patamon's recent episode since he just shifted his Champion mid-digivolution instead of slide digivolving to Angemon from Pegasusmon. I can't even count Alterous and Sagittarius since those are more MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon getting a part from their respective X-Antibody versions.
