Angemon and basically patamon’s whole evolution line is my favourite since I first watched digimon in 2000 something and even until now, and I’m glad that it remains to be one of the best evolutions in the whole series 💛
As that fight started out as Metalgreymon vs Parrotmon it is also a really fun throwback to Tai's and Agumon's Origins in the original series. It just had to happen there :)

Is the best digievolution Period!, is EPIC. Sadly, in English is just a silly music in the background, which ruins it completely. so is not as cool as the original with the sync explosions
For me, one of my favorites… was the very first digivolution from Adventure Tri. Why? Two reasons. 1. Brave Heart. 2. It was Tai and Agumon pretty much picking up right where they left off, as if no time had passed at all. I got VERY emotional watching the English dub, hearing Joshua Seth and Tom Fahn once more.
Pretty sure any version except the botched US version has that. Just like the actual title (and evolution) theme instead of that horrendous "90s kids love rap" monstrosity they put over evolutions.
I know the actual moment is pretty quick and doesn't have a proper evolution sequence but the significance of Beezlemon Blast mode should have put it on this list. Impmon already had one of if not the best character arcs in the franchise and the moment he gains his wings was icing on the cake.
Any moment the hero can make the villains afraid of them always releases dopamine in my head. But War Greymon, though. They nailed it with him and have been chasing that high ever since.

@@creltry1756 yup indeed, Robert Axelrod the guy behind Finster, Lokar and even Lord Zedd back in the 90s on Power Rangers was the 1 that voiced Wizardmon, Vademon and even Cody's Armadillomon and related line BUT NOT the armor digivolutions that Armadillomon had. So sad that he's gone.
I couldn't agree more Cerebral. I was so upset that his screen time was severely limited. He only had one full digivolution sequence while the rest had so many. Granted, he is most powerful Ultimate out of all the them. So I guess they didn't want him to outshine the others. But still, it wouldn't have hurt giving him more screen time.

Good ol’ Karn EX! Wargreymon will always be my favorite Digimon of all time. When I saw his digivolution for the first time, my jaw dropped and I was instantly sold on him. It and himself is just plain badass. 😊
Thomas Norstein’s voice actor Crispin Freeman is so easy to recognize. He voiced Itachi Uchiha in Naruto, Alucard in Hellsing, Togusa in Ghost in the Shell and so many more.
He also voiced Koichi Kimura in Digimon Frontiers. He was gonna voice Koji but they changed it last minute, so him voicing Thomas is a lot funnier with that in mind!
I'm disappointed in no Beelzemon notifications. He's my fave. Plus while he didn't have a "full fledged scene" like most of these, his change was unique and still super drastic, considering he was going to redeem himself, no matter what.
This brings back old memories. I have collected Digimon TCGs since then and stopped for years...now I started back and shared some of my collections in the channel.
I just watched Xros Wars for the first time recently and the episode where Shoutmon digivolved on his own into Omnishoutmon was indeed epic. Prior to that, digivolution was not a thing in the series, so it was a welcomed surprise.
Ash is the only reason I occasionally tune into this channel. He actually has some level of passion for this sort of thing. Plus, it’s always nice to see Karn in a video
I'm honestly shocked and very happy to see gallantmon and susanoomon so high on the list. They're my personal favorite digivolutions out of all the seasons I've seen. I do think beelzemon deserved to be on this lost though

You can not top Angemon's incredible debut. Easily one of my favourite childhood moments and cemented Angemon as the champion of champion level Digimon
Angemon's Debut was good, although for a Digivolution it was before there were cool transformation sequences, so it clearly loses points. When most people think of Cool Digivolution Scenes they think of the transformation process itself & spinning around just isn't good enough compared to what came later in the same season. "To Ultimate" you saw things like Greymon being covered in cybernetics, Lilymon emerging from Togemon's cactus flower, & various other impressive transformations then there was the incredible Agumon & Gabumon Warp Digivolve Sequences. Maybe I was just way too young when I 1st watched Digimon Adventure that the impressiveness of Angemon 1st appearing was lost to me?
@@rahimdina8910 Japan had marketed higher level Digimon than Angemon before that episode premiered there. Keep in mind that the V-pets had Stage 5 Digimon from the beginning with Andromon appearing in Episode 5. Angemon was merely the epic final member to reach the same stage as the others. It wasn't some huge surprise like Stage 6 Digimon were. Mega (Ultimate in Japan) was something nobody expected & was legendary when it happened in Season 1. The closest the series came to recreating that sensation were Omegamon or Final Bonds although those aren't things that became a new normal like Mega did after its debut.

That said, it's not about the stage of evolution but the impact the evolution left on viewers which makes Angemon stand out.

HolyAngemon Debut was a recreation of Angemon debut only better & without the sacrifice showing TK & Patamon's Growth throughout the 1999 series as they defeat the Toughest of the 4 DMs despite only being Stage 5.
This video finally happened... But I still feel Wargreymon's debut in 2020 was the best and had to be #1 here. The digivolution sequence with Break the Chain's debut as well to end that horrible year should be second to none IMO. Also, something more from Ghost game could have been mentioned here.
Very good list! I would personally add Omnimon Alter-S evolution and GulusGammamon first evolution scene although I get they may not have had enough time to be considered legendary.

DNA Digivolution was always really cool to see, especially when we got to see Omnimon for the first time in the movie. Paildramon was really awesome as well

Totally agree with Angemon first. It was an amazing plot twist that showed Adventure would be legendary. Up to that episode everybody thought TK and Patamon were sidekicks that needed to be protected by the others. If I'm not mistaken the episode was called Patamon's turn or something, and then he has this amazing digivolution and kicks Devimon's ass. In retrospect it was an obvious conclusion to the first arc, but still no one saw it coming!
I agree but on the other hand this pave the way for digimon frontier beast evolution to explain it self why it have 2 kind of evolution line which are the digi spirits and digi beast spirit
I really wish they would do Frontiers again. So much potential for each element to have their own double digi spirit evolution and ancient evolution like kaisergreymon and magnagarurumon. Like the element of wind could have a theme of a ballerina.
Maybe I’m just a Tentomon apologist, but HeracleKabuterimon‘s debut in Digimon Tri deserves a spot on this list. He sacrificed himself in order to push his friends into the reboot, and thus rebooted himself as well.
For Magnaangemon you guys should search for Japanese version, it contains one of the most iconic evolution theme and super more epic than English version, it deserves more upper spot. (search for Takeru's Crest Of Hope Activates HD) you guys will understand
the war greymon and metal grerulamon scene means so much to me. you thought the digimon were capped at two evolutions like pokemon back in the day and that saturday morning my mind was blown when they took it the next level. as silly as it is it inspired me to never give up and just take things to the next level to solve my problems.

Hell nah. Tamers and OG Digimon had great dubbing. Tamers was probably the best VAs in the whole series. However, you are definitely entitled to your opinion.

I'd of choose to put the original digivolutions, from the literal first episode of the franchise, from the digimons in-training to rookie level on here somewhere. Can't get more iconic than the literal launching point for the franchise!
I guess I need to catch up... I lost connection with Digimon after like season 2 or 3. I was young and my life was in turmoil. Now at 35 I'm sitting here having watched this and having teared up from the memories... Digimon is truly what got me into anime. I owe my love of anime to the first group of Digidestined we got to travel with.
I get the turmoil thing that's about when mom and dad split up for me and seeing as how that fought almost all the time it wouldn't have been so bad if it was sooner maybe could've helped us stay connected but I ended up with my grandma than moved from the state I was born to live with my other grandparents cause mom and dad was worried about their lives more than their kids so I get the bullshit that life throws at us good to hear you made it passed all of it and o yeah I'm also 35.

Same. I would put angemon as my number 1 fav evolution too. That yay moment when i was a kid 20 years ago seeing him evolve and fought devimon felt so good and satisfied
Tri- HerculesKabuterimon is my fav because of the emotional weight, the music, the sheer joy of seeing my fav digidestined and partner reach there mega form! Executed perfectly.
My favorite here is Skullgreymon cause it give me a flashback to my 11 years old me... I will never forget this part of the serie... It learned me not to force something that need time....

Kyubimon into Taomon is probably one of the most beautiful and well animated evolution scenes I've ever seen. In my opinion.
DNA Digivolution was always really cool to see, especially when we got to see Omnimon for the first time in the movie. Paildramon was really awesome as well

Since the start of the video i was waiting for Angemon's digivolution, i knew it would be high upthere but didnt expect you to put it #1, id put it #2, best digivolution for me was Omnimon's first digivolution
Totally agree with Angemon first. It was an amazing plot twist that showed Adventure would be legendary. Up to that episode everybody thought TK and Patamon were sidekicks that needed to be protected by the others. If I'm not mistaken the episode was called Patamon's turn or something, and then he has this amazing digivolution and kicks Devimon's ass. In retrospect it was an obvious conclusion to the first arc, but still no one saw it coming!
Sorry, but Seraphimon and Ophanimon are WAY cooler than Goddramon and Holydramon.

I agree but on the other hand this pave the way for digimon frontier beast evolution to explain it self why it have 2 kind of evolution line which are the digi spirits and digi beast spirit

One of my favourites was when Birdramon digivolved to Garudamon. "Birdramon NOOO!!!! I love you". brings a tear to my eye.
I really wish they would do Frontiers again. So much potential for each element to have their own double digi spirit evolution and ancient evolution like kaisergreymon and magnagarurumon. Like the element of wind could have a theme of a ballerina.
Maybe I’m just a Tentomon apologist, but HeracleKabuterimon‘s debut in Digimon Tri deserves a spot on this list. He sacrificed himself in order to push his friends into the reboot, and thus rebooted himself as well.
So, nothing from Appmon and Ghost Game is on this list? That's a shame.
For Magnaangemon you guys should search for Japanese version, it contains one of the most iconic evolution theme and super more epic than English version, it deserves more upper spot. (search for Takeru's Crest Of Hope Activates HD) you guys will understand
the war greymon and metal grerulamon scene means so much to me. you thought the digimon were capped at two evolutions like pokemon back in the day and that saturday morning my mind was blown when they took it the next level. as silly as it is it inspired me to never give up and just take things to the next level to solve my problems.

in My honest opinion The Japanese Version sounds better, it's like The Japanese Voice Actors put more effort into the voices.

Hell nah. Tamers and OG Digimon had great dubbing. Tamers was probably the best VAs in the whole series.

It's debatable who had the better Digivolution between Wargreymon & MetalGurumon for Years. But I personally liked Wargreymon's more.
I'd of choose to put the original digivolutions, from the literal first episode of the franchise, from the digimons in-training to rookie level on here somewhere. Can't get more iconic than the literal launching point for the franchise!
I guess I need to catch up... I lost connection with Digimon after like season 2 or 3. I was young and my life was in turmoil. Now at 35 I'm sitting here having watched this and having teared up from the memories...
Digimon is truly what got me into anime. I owe my love of anime to the first group of Digidestined we got to travel with.
I get the turmoil thing that's about when mom and dad split up for me and seeing as how that fought almost all the time it wouldn't have been so bad if it was sooner maybe could've helped us stay connected but I ended up with my grandma than moved from the state I was born to live with my other grandparents cause mom and dad was worried about their lives more than their kids so I get the bullshit that life throws at us good to hear you made it passed all of it and o yeah I'm also 35.
Okay, I gotta give it to them on the Angemon digivolution. That got me in the feels for sure.
