After following the Hag and Marty right out of my diapers thanks to my hillbilly Momma playing their albums with others like Charlie Pride Hank Sr.and Jr. Loretta Lynn Freddie Fender Dolly Parton Conway Twitty The Possum and many more I seemed to enjoy the Hags music alittle more due to his guitar playing talent. Not many singers write and play their own music and have a distinct voice. Anyway after a half a century later I'm still listening to the Hags music. I saw him twice. Both concerts went on well past the advertised time. I've been to many many concerts,from George Jones to the Rolling Stones but for some reason I don't remember much about the rock concerts. But the Hag definitely put on a great show. Capturing everyone's attention.

Yes, it's amazing how gifted he was in all three categories....Willie's up there with him in song writing, but Merle is way ahead in everything else. But, I love all of these fantastic TRUE country artists,,,Marty is awesome as well!

It’s really almost criminal what they do with our President. There seems to be no shame or anything. They call him all kinds of names all day long, saying he’s doing certain things that he’s not. It’s just a big old political game that I don’t want to be part of. There are people spending their lives putting him down. I’m sure some of it’s true and some of it’s not. I was very surprised to find the man very humble and he had a nice handshake. His wife was very cordial to the guests and especially me. They made a special effort to make me feel welcome. Obama was in office when Merle got the Kennedy Center Honor(I am assuming this what Merle is talking about). Haggard should have gotten that ten years earlier, but the liberals never forgot "Okie" song, what asswipes, but at least he got the honor and that was a terrific night!
