  • I purchased this bike not for the retro nostalgic value, but because I like the geometry of the classic MTB frame and want to upgrade certain parts. *Forgot to mention but I will certanly be changing tires with something more appropriate. I will be using the bike for touring, road and some gravel riding. Not interested in downhill or anything like that.

I had one of these, purchased second hand in the UK. I had stripped the labels and it looked amazing with just aluminium finish. It was stolen on my last day of University in 1999. I moved to San Francisco years later and spoke to the owner of Marin, he sold me a 2011 indian fire trail in 2015 for an amazing price. This bike is very solid, I love it and I still have it.

i just acquired one of these on kijiji and it was listed for free... the indian fire decal was gone and the owner had no idea what it was. travelled 3 hours by bus and train to get it! great looking frames on these things

Was one of my wet dreams, back in 1993. „USA“ Stickers and „Race proven“ was the shit at that days. Good ol times of the beginning of mountain biking in europe. Brings a lot of emotions in reminder, thanks

My 94 Indian Fire Trail was an amazing ride. Those tapered forks are very, very special - springy yet stiff, they soak up the little bumps and chatter and take big hits nicely. The bike handles very well, fast and nimble. It loves to loft as well. And that 7005 frame is strong. I rode my IFT for nearly 10 years, passed it on to my brother in law who rode it for 10 more, and he gave it to a friend who still rides it today. GREAT BIKE! Good find.

Nice to see a vintage Marin video. Your 93 IFT is in good condition. Would be a shame not to keep it as original as possible.

I have the exact same bike. Bought it in 93, only used it 8 or 10 times.
Probably the best bike I've ever bought.
It climes hills easily, super fast on even roads and down hill. The bike only needs a routine servicing. It's in a rock shock bag. Maybe this summer I will take it out and ride it again. I miss the sport.
My suggestion to you is don't modify yours too much. Retro bikes of this quality always sell for a higher price when they are all original.

Very nice bike, and in really lovely condition. I bought the same year model recently but mine has had the fork and bars/stem 'upgraded' sadly. I will try to locate the original type eventually. Still a great bike however, and cost only £50, from its original owner, so I'm very happy. The previous owner fitted a protective tape over the fragile top-tube decals so they have survived well. I intend to use it for trail riding mostly, as I do my other older Marin MTBs. Hope you enjoy yours.

Really nice bike. I´m gonna buy 90s Marin mtb too as soon as I find one in good condition and good price too. Already got 2009 and 2022 but 90s was era when I really got my fixation in Marin bikes. Btw if you did some modification on that bike it would be great to see resaults.

rockin' bike dude. but if you ride the trails, you might want to consider taking those "tree hooks" off the handlebars
