I'm amazed that Tempest Rim isn't talked about by more people.. Especially all the RDR2 "Mystery/Theory Channels" No one ever talks about the huge section of the map that is needlessly inaccessible... I only discovered this area cus I wanted to go hunting for bears and camp in the mountains but got extremely frustrated when I divorced the huge invisible wall blocking me from apart of the map I should be able to go to...
It is honestly stunningly bullshit how much of the map is inaccessible. About 1-2/5ths is just padding and invisible walls. I'm more surprised nobody on Reddit has actually drawn what the real map boundaries are, would look a lot less impressive.

But then Rock* moved it and blocked off a good chunk of the north part of the map in order to "make the story flow better."😂 Yeah, I don't know about anyone else, but I really would not have minded the map being larger. For how beautiful of a game this is and, how many times I have replayed it,my God Rockstar that was a big fuck up!
Colter was supposed to be in tempest rim, but they felt it was too close to civilization and disrupted the flow of the story. I still wish they made it accessible, even without animals.
@@Paulo-c3n It is, this part is where Colter was originally. Originally, the top left part of the map didn't exist, and for some reason they added it and moved Colter there, and then made Tempest Rim inaccessible.

Pretty sure Tempest Rim was suppose to be apart of the map. There’s what looks to be paths in it, not to mention it’s named in-game. My question is why it’s not? Like it’s in the borders of the map, I think it would be cool if access was allowed.
@@iLepow ? It's obviously not in Canada, Canada is still waaaay up north, as the map is in the Southern US. Also it's just scrapped content since Colter originally was there

@@LukaVDS but when you look at some of the maps in game, they say it's a map of the Southern United States, and obviously it is, since the only city in it is based on New Orleans, and if the map was more than just a general "south", it'd mean that Saint Denis is the only big city in a whole chunk of the US. Also, the east, west, and the north are still way off. The west kinda stops around New Mexico or Western Texas, the north around Utah/Colorado and the east could be anywhere with forests and hills for example along the Appalachian, which could stop in Arkansas, Tennessee or northern Alabama. So we definitely have only seen a southern part of the US
Just did it successfully on July 24, 2021. It still works. Here’s how it went for me: 1st try, fell through the map. 2nd & 3rd try, slid back into bounds. 4th try, fell through the map. 5th try, success!
Can confirm this still works, somehow worked on my first try. Hope to god the devs don't see this as they seem hellbent on patching every way into here. Lastly I recommend loading up on Kentucky Bourbon and Gin, 3 Bourbons and 2 Gins did it for me.
I did this trick to access Mexico is the same trick in a different place but all it happened was I woke up in jail after getting drunk I woke up in tumbleweed jail and paid a 1500 bounty So I don't know if this same trick will work to access tempest rim

tempest rim, a damn shame. originally you wouldve seen colter from atop those mountains across the whole map, like other landmarks. truly a shame rdr2 had to cut the intro, chapters 1&5, and the epilogue
I can confirm this still works as of March 10, 2021. Took me 8 or 9 times to get it but this method does work as of right now. I had the thing happen a bunch of times where it makes you slide way down the hill and 1 time I fell through the world before I eventually got it.
I actually was interested in tempest rim in online and when I saw this bridge I past it and got it first try by using my horse to just jump up the ledge and run to tempest. Leading me to look up if I was the only one to find this and surprised that there were others.
@@SamtheAsmrArtist yeah don’t know if it’s patched now but from what I remember 7 months ago I saw this rock on a ridge that wouldn’t allow you to go up, this was somewhere north of the map near a bridge where you’d go north and see a ridge perfectly able to go up. But I saw a minor rock and put my horse on it and jumped first try up to the area. I fell of after though. I tried but couldn’t repeat it so it was probably all luck🤷🏻♂️
I wish they kept everything they had in the game, I don’t see why they would take things out even if they didn’t go with the story Edit: I’m sure chasing a magic midget doesn’t have anything to do with the story of RDR and they kept that in

It actually works, but you can’t walk. You will always slip and you will be unable to walk correctly. So yes, you are on the other side of the rocks, but you can’t do anything
My guess is they patched this in the latest update to stop this from working. I keep getting pulled back by a crazy large slip barrier after waking up on top of the rock. Time to look for a new glitch i'm afraid...
They need stop to patch things like that, and patch things like THE FUCK PINK/PURPLE GLITCHED REFLECT IN THE MIRROR...MAN IT LOOKS SO FUCKING HORRIBLE AND NO REAL THING.
I'm almost at the edge of the map after climbing mountain after mountain in my goddamn summer gunslinger with only my pistols cuz I forgot to get my stuff from my saddle
Ugh, this is so infuriating for me. No matter what I do, I ALWAYS fall off the map the moment Arthur stands up beyond the barrier, even if my left foot is noclipping right into the stone. Is it still possible to get to the Tempest Rim by using this glitch, or has Rockstar definitively patched it?
it is a very large area. you can explore the complete map outside of the playable part. You have to decide for yourself whether it is worthwhile for you.
As of January 8 2022 I can confirm it works but it is VERY VERY UNRELIABLE. Either you will mostly fall off the map, or be unable to go past the barrier
I found a better way to get to Tempest Rim. So when you get drunk, you either slide back into the map or fall out of the map. The reason why the getting drunk on the rock doesn’t work is because you can’t pass through the barrier, and you slide right back onto the map. This is basically how all barriers work in RDR2. So in order for you to actually bypass it, the best most reliable way is for you be as close to the barrier as possible. You probably might think of that rock position in the video BUT IT IS ACTUALLY WRONG. What you need to do is to use the sliding glitch to get on top of the hill. (Basically the sliding glitch is for you to go to first person, get any gun on your hand, aim go to the area where you slide, press the jump button while you sliding, and keep walking forward.This will cause you to slide in any direction for a period of time. You can tell if it is working or not if the gun your holding keeps shaking, and your character keeps grunting). Using the sliding glitch you go up the hill, and eventually you will stop “sliding” because you will be right next to the barrier. This is the part where you stop sliding, and go to first person. This is we’re the decently hard part comes in. Once you stop sliding, the game will forcefully try to slide you back into the map. Either you will fall off that hill, and have to try again, or you will stop sliding and be on the hill area. Once you stop sliding, and your on the hill, that’s when you have to get drunk, and pass out. This should work 99% effectively. You should have bypassed the barrier, and you can freely walk to Tempest Rim. Tbh this is fairly complicated, and you will probably need a visual representation of this.
There is also another area where you can get out of the map, however, you will need to unlock New Austin for this. There is an area near where you can find Otis Miller’s Revolver, where you can get out of the map, and basically go anywhere you want. On the edge of the map, there is a barrier north of where Otis Miller’s Revolver is found. It looks like a walkable hill, but it is not. You need to do the slide glitch I mentioned in the last comment. For some reason this barrier can be easily passed using the glitch? Like it’s the only part of the map I know where the slide glitch actually works.

😀Still works! March 2022, XBox Series X. Worked on my first attempt, then I stupidly went a couple steps south to check on my horse and got caught by the slip barrier. Went back to same spot and it worked again!

Not only tempest rim, but the ENTIRE mountain to its left, which has visible paths on it if you somehow manage to get onto it
