- I discovered this glitch some time ago but just never bothered to make a video on it I've searched RUclips and it looks like no one else has discovered this glitch this glitch was done on PS4 with the latest version of RDR2 1.26

@@peakfall1748 Badgers are so easy... outside Riggs Station across the road from the trapper I get them 2 at a time... Head west along the tracks then head north to the treeline always a rattlesnake and 2 badgers and maybe a couple possums.
Without the hunting, it really feels like just another coat and not a reward for my hard work

I just started this game about a month ago. The amount of things you can do is crazy! I know I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said a million times, but what a beautiful game! The fact that it's almost all natural environments makes it even more impressive. They say natural elements are much more difficult to recreate.

after getting killed by dozens of Panthers...now he tells me
At one point, Arthur says "You don't hunt cougars. Cougars hunt you." Once you know where the cougars (and panthers) are hunting you from, you can come at them from the back side. Yeah, they actually hide near roads just waiting for you to ride past. Make sure you use your cover scent lotion and use binoculars to spot them.

@@RBCharger bruh I was hunting for cougars buy I couldn't find any so I just started hunting 3 star pelts and when I was skinning a animal a f*cking cougar killed me
@@General_Tozen That happened to me one time too. There was a 3* grizzly bear where the cougar should be at the Big Valley location so I figured the cougar was chased out of the area. I was skinning the grizzly when the cougar killed me. One other time I was killed by a grizzly while standing there selling stuff to the trapper.
This actually works but your custom outfit NEEDS a bandana or it wont work

@@peterrudeness8428 When in your wardrobe, you can customize your outfits or your look. Save it to your horse. That becomes a custom saved outfit.

Nice 👍 As everyone else has said, works if you tear down the camp (standing up) then equip bandana before saving and reloading. Worked on PS4 21/02/21

This is still working as of August 2023.
Note: As mentioned elsewhere, you must have your bandana as part of your custom outfit for this to work.
Also, you can use any shop wardrobe/changing room (along with your camp or hotel room) to save your custon outfit.

Cougar pelt is easy, just set up camp near the trapper in big valley and ride up and down the road there's a cougar attack that loads there. Cougar attack --> ride down road ---> set up camp,sleep --> ride back to cougar attack repeat.

@@blopersan2114 Better yet, go to that trapper in Big Valley from the north east direction so that you are staying away from the cougar, then go due west to cross the creek. Put on your cover scent lotion and creep south on the west side of the creek. At that point where the road starts to get close to the creek, the cougar will be waiting for you there. Spot it with your binoculars then call it to you to use your bow with improved arrows for the hunter challenge or just use a rifle with scope for a clean no-worry kill. That is much better than riding by, being bucked off right in front of it, then panicking while trying to get that clean shot while trying not to die.

Actually no if you set up camp in the wilderness you can have the option to fast travel from any where
You have to have the bandana saved to your preset 1 as well. But, if I'm not mistaken over time you won't be able to equip the outfits you've saved because it glitches out. Make a save right before you do this so it doesn't mess up your entire game incase you need to go back.
Didn't work for me at the trapper in south Elizabethtown.

Couple things:
again, yup, custom outfit 1 has to have a bandana equipped as standard
2: you dont have to rent the room there in strawberry, just go to the changing room behind the general store and save it there

Never really had an issue hunting in the story or even the online mode, hunting was fairly realistic as in when bear coats came out I had all of them within 3 hours of just leaving deer carcass near a river in bear territory
Hah I like to use carcasses to attract birds of prey...never tried for a bear tho...seems an obvious thought now that its been brought to my attention tho...

Aug 2nd 2021 on PC it works. Make sure if you’re getting a full garnet, your saved outfit one doesn’t have a hat or coat and make sure you wear your bandana after you view the set you want and then equip it again after tearing down your camp, then save. Wait a few seconds, then load up that save point again. It worked for me that way.
This way worked for me on ps4 whereas the video didn’t thnx 💪🏽

You can do the glitch but technically u don’t own it so it’s always locked until u get the necessary requirements. Only hats can be saved so
It works! it didnt work for me at first cuz i was on saved custom outfit 4 instead of 1.So make sure youre using SAVED CUSTOM OUTFIT ONE and also wear the bandana after tearing down the camp
So how im gonna save all 5 ? If outfit one always needed?
Can confirm this still works in October of 2022. The only thing is when you stand up to tear down your camp make sure to equip your Banda before you tear it down and then the glitch will work. I also found out that it works with holsters and bandoliers but they won’t count towards your 100% progress, but if you just want them to make and outfit and don’t care about 100% the game then this glitch is perfect.

@Neoplanter I haven't tried that yet but I doubt it considering there isn't a way to actually view the saddle. Being able to view the item seems like a must for it to work for whatever reason.

Here to confirm that this still works as of July 29th 2021👍🏾. I only recommend doing this if you don't really care to hunt and put time into getting perfect pelts skins etc.
This is actually helpful for despite preferring to earn the pelts but the legendary Gator doesn't respawn when I died to it so getting the death roll wasn't possible
If you lose a legendary pelt it will be transferred to the trapper, you just won't be able to make money off of it. But the trapper will still have it, so you can still buy the Death Roll garments. :)
Glitch, I take it? Because all it took to respawn him after dying hunting him was a few days in game of waiting.
@@MerelvandenHurk Sometimes this fails and it never shows up at the trapper even though it's crossed out on the map and you can't hunt it again. Happened to me with legendary white bison, can never get that outfit or trinket as a result.
Not sure if its been mentioned but if you swap it with another hat on the ground/get it knocked off and pick it up itll go to your crafted hats section like u made it. Been collecting all the hats this way hehe

Only problem with this is that you can only have 5 saved outfits so every time you want something from the trapper after removing a piece you have to go back and do the glitch again.
@Jamal Alghrawy [Student] doesnt appear so. Only the hat seems to show up in the inventory menu in wardrobe.
I have a problem, once I save the outfit, it doesn't show up as specific pieces I can chose on the fly. I have to go to "Custom Outfits" and screw around. Do you have a workaround so I could for example, go to "Crafted Coats" and chose the panther's cloak?
No you'll have to create a custom outfit and style it from there, i reccomend going into the clothing section and deleting all other customs except for the glitched set and saving it. That way you can stack satchels and such using this glitch on Pearson's cart.

Can confirm that this works as of today on Series X. Like others said you have to stand up, put on your bandanna and then tear down camp. I just grabbed two garments sets.
My legendary pronghorn just dispawned, and there is an x on the pronghorn logo, so i couldnt get the clothes from pronghorn hide, but with this glitch, i can! Thank you so much!!

So just to be clear, while this glitch does work as shown, you cannot permanently save the clothing items to your normal clothing/ crafted inventory - you only save the custom outfit itself, until you delete that specific custom outfit.
The only items you can save permanently are the hats by having them knocked off and picked back up. Hats attained this wau from this glitch show up in your crafted items as if youd legitamately crafted them. No other items will until you actually craft them legit.
Nah for me I was able to keep all of the items and swap them with different outfits

So, I had already unlocked everything except the muskrat gloves on The Desperado outfit. Did this glitch and was able to save the whole outfit under Saved Outfits, but the gloves weren't added to my Crafted Gloves, and outfit wasn't available under Crafted Outfits. Once the outfit is deleted, the gloves are gone. So, this can't be used to get to the completion outfit.
if u want gun holsters or bandoliers and stuff like that just view it set up camp then go to your horse and equip the saved outfit and it'll pop up this still works in April 2 2022

It works for those who say it’s not , before you tear you camp down, get up, AND THEN PUT YOUR BANDANA ON. i put the bandana when sitting down n it was not working. TRUST ME THIS WORKS! DO EVERYTHING HE SAYS JUST REM TO PUT YOUR BANDANA BEFORE YOU TEAR YOUR CAMP BUT YOU MUST BE STANDING

@@reynoldsfamily826 Yeah the trapper is just a tiny bit North West of owanjila lake.
I used the trapper on the hill near Riggs Station and I didn’t have to put the bandana on. It was just part of my custom outfit that was stored in slot one. I had no issue reloading with the garment outfit or individual hats. PS4 v1.24
It worked fine for me at the Hanover one near annesburg
before you equip a horse outfit to see if it is on all of them do this:
save after you get the hat you want (this is mostly for hats)
then go to someone and run into them and they will punch you
the hat will then be on the ground
pick it up and it will no longer register as an unequipable hat

This still works 100% , when you get to camp stand up put your bandana on, and save, I didnt need to tear down my camp. Did not work for me without bandana. When loaded in you should be wearing your outfit

Usually I wouldn’t resort to something like this but finding certain animals and getting a perfect pelt especially smaller ones is just ridiculously difficult sometimes

Wish I had seen this before beating the end of Arthur’s story. I wanted one of those fancy feather hats from the trapper. But I was too lady to look for the birds. Birds have been a night mare to hunt. I haven’t been able to catch a stupid woodpecker

I think its the set but once you equip the set you can change out the different clothing so it's basically like having the individual pieces of clothing

@@JotaroKujo-nj4bx in chapter 4 you have a mission called "Angelo bronte man of honour", before you do that mission enable all cheats you want and TURN ON autosave, otherwise it won't work, after completing the mission game will automatically auto save, reload that autosave and go to sleep, after that you'll probably get letter from Mary, pick it up and save game manually, if not, do any side missions and you can save the game, good luck mate :)

This glitch is ok I guess but I’m guessing you can’t mix and match certain pieces of clothing with other ones to make your own outfit is that right? Id rather just hunt for them tbh that way it can be saved in my inventory and I can mix and match as I please. Some people say they can’t find certain 3 star animals but I found most pretty easily. I’ve unlocked most of the trapper outfits legitimately and I’m barely in chapter 2. For small game animals like small birds, opossums, skunks, raccoons, badgers, rabbits, ravens, turkey vultures, hawks, snakes, bald eagles, quail, squirrels, both brown & black rats are all abundant around Riggs Station near Strawberry and the trapper is up on that hill next to Riggs Station so you can take the pelts to him. I recommend this spot for small game. For farm animals like Angus Ox, Bulls, Cows, Goat, Sheep, Chickens, Roosters, and Pigs go to Saint Denis and behind the cemetery you will see the slums and you can find pigs roaming the streets and a little more outside the slums your going to see a bunch of farmland where you will find all the other farm animals I mentioned and the Saint Denis trapper is really close to. I noticed you need a lot of beaver and boar pelts to craft certain items so I found a great spot where they are abundant. It is risky though because it is really close to the border where big valley and the northern part of tall trees is. That River that separates them is the border but on that river you will always find about 4 to 5 beavers chilling right there just make sure you use varmint rifle and get a clean headshot for 3 star pelt on beavers and make sure you kill them before they go to deep on the other side of the river because as you all know if you linger in the wanted side of West Elizabeth to long Pinkertons will be on you quick. Moose also tend to spawn there with the beavers and on the hillside before the river you will see a bunch of wild boar running around. The beavers is definitely high risk high reward type of situation but worth it.

Well this is a pretty good trick.Anyway I'm gonna stick with the traditional way of hunting and crafting. I almost hunted all the legendary as well as normal animals in the game except for some birds. So i do have most of these outfits in my wardrobe. The thing i hatr about trapper outfits are they are all suitable for cold weather, none of the coats is suitable for hot climate. So we couldn't wear these cool outfits in all locations especially in lemoyne and new austin where the temperature is at its most.
Well most outfits are made from pelts (hence why you get then from a trapper) and pelts are not exactly known for their cooling abilities

May I ask before I try this: can you edit your "stolen"/glitched outfit? Like for instance if I only want the coat, can I pull this glitch then change the rest of my outfit to what I want but keep the coat, or would trying that makes the coat disappear? I'd like to "obtain" certain parts of some outfits (i.e gloves) alone.
@@mrkoko157 Yesn't I'm afraid. You can't mix-n-match all of them - it depends on what you're trying to get. If both of your targeted outfits have coats for instance, you'll only get the 2nd coat - you can't keep the 1st.

I wonder if you can save Gloves doing this too. You can equip and Unequip Gloves. Go to Bandana and Press R2 and it'll give you the option for that. It's a shame you can't get the full outfit but you can get everything else though.
I'm case anyone is wondering, this also works for the Legend of the East Satchel just go to Pearson at camp and view the Satchel then just follow the same steps in the video
Just be aware it does not unlock the ability to carry 100 of every item, only the cosmetic of it. You have to craft all other satchels and then you unlock the ability to get the Legend of the East satchel the correct way with the 100 inventory capacity

Well, I may try this just for a satchel at first. Seems like a 50/50 chance of working based on comments and those who it doesn't work for seem to be doing the obvious things wrong. Only thing I don't think your video said was to have Auto Save off, but I know from other things, that's how you do it. I could've missed it bc the wording goes pretty fast but I'll slow it down once I try and update on here whether or still works on that date. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks it worked for me and need not not be saved custom outfit one I got it with saved custom outfit two slot just make sure to equip bandana in your outfit
Still working May 30 on PS5. This also works for everything at the trapper, including the reinforced equipment if there is a certain holster, belt, or bandolier that you want.
But can I get all outfits and save them or is just one ?

Just want to let everyone know this works with all the satchels at camp too. I'm in chapter 2 and now have the legend of the east satchel. Had to test it out, and yeah, it works. Thank you very much to the uploader.
I've known about that Satchel glitch for a while too but I never spread the word about it because it's honestly not worth it because it doesn't increase the satchel capacity it's only for show
