If you mention Thrive Market again, you should let people know that they don’t just give free memberships to low-income families. They also give free memberships to students, teachers, veterans, active members of the military and first responders! I get a free membership because I’m a veteran. I just thought this would be helpful info for people to know about, in case they qualify for a free membership 😊❤️
Daisy Mohrman No problem! Yes, it’s called Thrive Gives and you just need to apply for it. I did it like a year ago because I’m a veteran. I think it was a very quick process if I remember correctly. And I’ve had a free membership ever since then! Here is a link to their page with info about it! 😊 help.thrivemarket.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001360786
I was actually interested in the Thrive Market offer, but then I saw the “US Only” 😩 RIP Canada. I’m definitely going to try out these delicious recipes though! Thanks.
There are even purple (on the inside) ones as well, it depends in where you live, for example in México it's a lot harder to get the orange ones, but those white ones are sold in a caramel sauce all over the country 💗
Much prefer the white or purple ones. Taste like roast chestnut and less sweet than yellow/orange ones. However, the orange ones have beta carotene vitamin A.
The white one is a staple in South Africa, I think it's a Japanese sweet potato. We cook it soft then add syrup, butter and salt, delicious, has a buttery caramel flavour!!! We don't really get the orange sweet potato over here, we do, but is not as widely available.
@@tillievantonder oh my goodness, that sounds amazing! I recently found a grocer that stocks them in my town, and I'm definitely going to have to try this recipe! Thank you so much for sharing ☺
I have no need for low-calorie meals tbh BUT if that means I can eat more of them, I'm all for it- food is life :D All of these looked absolutely delicious! I also enjoyed the video itself a lot (as always) as you're just such a fun and positive person! . Sending you lots of love! Have a great week ahead!
lentil stew is like a necessity in my diet at this point, lol! i will add sweet potatoes next time. on an unrelated note, Rose you deserve that Bubly sponsorship! i picked some up today because of you and i don't even usually drink sparkling water, lmao. i got the peach flavor and i'm excited to try it!
I tried it for the sustainable products. But they're not. Everything is in plastic containers. Then they wrap the plastic containers in plastic bags. I don't think it's right they say they're sustainable.
It would be nice to have some recipes that contain only a couple of ingredients. It's a lot of work and it's expensive to keep all these things in the kitchen.
I have videos where I'm using 4 ingredients or 5 ingredients for each recipe! :) as previously mentioned~ check those out :) you can also always simplify recipes and omit ingredients~
For your Canadian followers it kinda sucks how we can’t use thrive market. You got me excited because I thought they finally allowed Canada. I’m not even sure how you got them because I live in the same province you do 😭😭😭 been vegan for almost a year now !!
Any chance you could do a video about higher calorie, but still relatively healthy vegan options? I have a hyperthyroidism condition and I’m trying to maintain my weight. Thanks!
Try adding calorie-dense things such as avocadoes, extra virgin oils, nuts, nut butters, dates into your meals as much as possible, and snacking on things like fruit and nut mix (if you're not allergic). Also tempeh has more calories than tofu (and is less processed), and even swapping out almond milk for soy or coconut milk (both have substantially higher calories), hope this helps :)
Every thing looks so delicious! And I'm not vegan. But, I like a lot of your ideas and learn about products that are healthier. I'd like to start incorporating some of them in my way of eating. Thanks!
I got up made the lentil stew as soon as I saw it and omg was it tasty! I ended up using quinoa and couscous instead of a pasta and added coconut milk to my tomato and veggie stock it came out tasting very cheesy. Definitely wasn't mad about that! Thanks Rose😊
You have to order a shit ton of food from Thrive Market to justify the membership fee. Any savings you experience per item is negated by paying the fee. I just run down to my local Whole Foods or fancy Kroger and buy the stuff straight up instead of paying a membership fee.
Right!! I always check it out then i realize that the prices are expensive. The can of chickpeas is $3 with the membership? It's way cheaper on whole foods. Because i want convenience, I order from my local WH through my amazon prime, i get delivery in 2hrs, and i get fresh produce as well!!
It was good when I was in high-school and needed snacks hugh in protein, vegan, and healthier, but i wouldn't use it now unless my family decided to get all our cleaning stuff and bathroom stuff off there as well. I feel like it only works well in specific situations
oh nice i'm moving in a few days and i'm going to start a thrive membership then! ill definitely use your code :) I really love how you included the prices of the items in the video so I know what i'm getting myself into.
@@CheapLazyVegan thank you! I told myself that i'd go vegan if i move. This is mainly because it's so much easier to cook vegan. I have no doubts I will act on it.

Ready made soup... added to soup and pasta added to something that isn't minestrone, eww. Also what a waste only using the florets of the broccoli which is the worst part anyway.
Great recipes, I always love your video !!! I been a Thrive member for years. I love the prices and the convenience. Also the filter so I don't have to go around searching : )
So I made the stew/soup, it tasted really good and it was easy to make and this is coming from someone that by accident made a pan lid explode not long ago.
I made a similar stew earlier today in a rice cooker and it went really well! Mine has a soup setting which definitely helps, but I’m sure you can make it in a regular one too!
Great video and it is unfortunate that you don't get thrive market outside of the United States( I don't know how Rose manages to order from them since she lives in Canada). I have discovered a website in the UK that works similar to thrive market called the Good Club which sells only sustainable products/brands on the website.
Thank you for this, it can be quite hard to sift through websites to find a reputable one that works in the UK. So you've just saved me at least 15 minutes of Googling.
Yeah I hope one day they'll be able to ship to Canada or other countries soon. I work with them so they're able to ship to me but I don't think they have figured out the logistics to ship to Canada just yet.
I've recently gone plant based and your chickpea wrap gave me some ideas on how to transform a chicken salad sandwich recipe I really enjoyed! Vegan mayo, apples, pecans, celery, apple cider vinegar, herbs, salt and pepper 😚👌
I tried the vegan tuna and honestly did not like at all. It had a weird smell and a strange brownish gravy that did not look appetizing. It was a bit mushy, too. Wouldn’t recommend, but I guess some people do like it.
How do we sign up for a family in need.. vegan needs food and in the states it crazy over priced.. . need a free membership.. On ssi, average SSI is $833.00 a month... I get less then that and I live in a RV.. Homeless you could say...
LOVE your recipes but those useless oils fattening calories only keep weight on. I suggest ALWAYS omit the oil/fats 1 tbps oil = roughly 14g of fat. Plus mono-sat-poly-trans fats apply as well.
Love pastas in soups too. These look yummy. Need to get back to eating this way. I feel my best. 🙂 My problem is sticking to something and choosing what I need to do. I keep going back to this. I want to feel good. Those rolls look really yummy. Soba noodles are gluten free too.
You seem to eat a wide variety of foods and I was wondering what the difference is between all the different lentils out there? I have only tried dried split peas and green lentils. Is there a difference in taste, texture, nutrition? HELP
A tip : if you’re cocking potatoes and carrots together cut the carrots smaller and chop the potatoes in bigger blocks bc it have more water and it will cook faster than carrots
Making the stew now and I am pleased with how it's going, the only thing I added was red peppers and for some reason sprouts never has regular sweet potatoes, so I used the yam sweet potatoes.
These all look delicious! I will have to try the zoodle/noodle dish for sure. I feel like if I only have zoodles I need to eat two zucchini just to feel full!
